Perhaps I would kill for.. - T-Mobile LG G2x

Am I the only one that would kill to have this case?..

Yeah probably, because after putting the case on it'll become very bulky, so you would need a laptop bag or a midget to carry it around. lol

Damn. That is one ugly Mother...

Honestly I have to ask whats the point. Unless its waterproof I dont think its anything special. I dropped my vibrant from a 1 story roof by accident and it bounced off concrete with only a simple $3 TPU case from amazon. Didnt even have a screen protector haha. Not a scratch on it.
Maybe if your a construction worker this may be useful.

I've seen these on Iphones. They are definitely tough cases. Not sure I'd want over an otterbox, though, they aren't very attractive. But if you need the protection than it's definitely worth it.

LOL !
this is for Army

I am waiting for a otterbox.
I am waiting for a otterbox.

Well I work for dish network as a lvl3 technician.. Tough work, plus ex army.. That could be why its sexy to me. ;p

$50 for a case? GTFOH !!! I'd rather spend $8 on ebay if you are that clumsy with a phone you need the one Zack had on "Saved by the Bell"

My buddy has one for his iphone 4....he works in construction...its perfect for him

Iphone bumper cases

Is there any bumper cases like the ones iPhone has?
sent from planet snarf
Please tell me the logic of your question. The bumper cases were developed to deal with an issue the iPhone has with reception being blocked. I just don't get it.
Wow wow and oh ya WOW. There is no logic to that question so I'm not even going to attempt to answer it!

I disagree since they announced them prior to the issue being brought up, unless you are saying they KNEW it would happen prior to the release.
But I do agree they are useless overall and all they really are good for is the attenuation issues.
its something different no?

[Q] Has anyone else been contacted via PM about a free G2x case to test?

Just wondering if I should reply. The company was rearthusa. Has anyone else done this?

Nope, odd they would do this via PM. Why not just ask the public for testers.
Well the company seems legit, I just looked it up and other people have been asked to test it.
Sounds a little fishy, but if its legit I'd be down to test a case for em
i also been contacted by email by some guy claiming he worked for that company i just deleted it cuz like gideon said y not contact public idk seems fishy
I got one over on androidforums.com. Guess it might be a way to generate a bit of marketing buzz for the product if people do like the case and post about it. The rep seemed nice enough when I wrote back declining the offer (I keep mine in a belt case and don't see the need for anything else). I do note that there's a thread in this forum about the product.

You and me both!
Either way, based on the review here I figured I'd give it a shot and order it. Don't like seido cases since the last one I had for my N1 liked to slide off as I pulled it out of my pocket. And don't like the cases T-mo offers.
I feel left out lol
G2x with CM7 and faux kernel. NONSENSE!!!!
Just for kicks I responded. If I recieve a case I will be sure to post a full review with pictures. I am using a Body Glove case now which is pretty nice and fits better then several other cases I have tried. I will be curious to see if anything comes of it.
Interesting indeed. I know someone said they already ordered one of their cases and liked it on the forums. Wonder if its the same case they want tested? they can always contact me *coughPleasecough*

I got a PM over at androidcentral about the case. I responded, got the case and will be doing a review in the next few days.
I got a rubber case for my G2x from RearthUSA... I just got it today and have to admit it fits nice and I feel that it is more protected than the clear hard plastic case I got on AMAZON the same day I got my G2x back in April... the previous clear hard case I had for my phone just pops off after the first contact with the floor and you have to pray that your phone does not do a dead cat bounce when its naked - this Ringke case from Rearth USA is all rubber and actually absorbs the impact and doesn't come off...
Where is my pm... I like/want free stuff too...

People always rant about these things. It's really just a service for the technically inept; I don't see anything wrong with it myself. If you would rather spend $25 than invest the little time necessary to learn how to do these things yourself, then you have that right.
I pay to have my laundry done even though I own and know how to operate my washer and dryer. Should we egg my laundry ladys house? Eh...Caveat Emptor!

I've seen similar local ads too. One the other day advertised rooting for $40. My only problem would be what assurances do these folks offer in terms of insurance in case they eff up someone's phone. Would suck to get a brick and a "sorry" back from the guy.

Yep I'd never use a service like this...kinda like taking your new Corvette to get serviced behind Bubba Joe Billy Bob's Trailer. Bubba might know what he's doing...or you might be calling a tow truck.
But then again, I routinely make large purchases from people I know nothing about (Ebay). So...eh... Yous rolls the dice yous takes you chances....
It's actually not a bad idea, of course you would have to know exactly what to do in case things hit the fan!

you haven't seen anything.
People charge a lot more to flash Android on HD2, or even selling HD2 as Android phone on eBay.
I was just complaining about this crap yesterday lol. Ive done 2 mt4gs and three hd2s for guys at my work. All for free. Its a passion not my job. I enjoy it.

if its a LG washer and dryer than its ok to have someone else do it since a reboot during laundry can cause stains.
Things like this amaze us because we understand technology and this is an utter nonissue, but for a lot of people it just isn't.
It's like cars, to a mechanic paying for an oil change or tire rotation is absolutely absurd, but plenty of people do so, because they just don't understand cars. What is an easy job for me might be incredibly hard for you.

Throw it back at them and ruuuunnn, cause they sure are gonna be pissed!! And hope they don't catch you! Lol!
....
I've done this with jailbreaking iphones along with unlocking them to use them on tmobile. You would be suprised how many people want this done. I had about 10 calls a week. Only ended up doing about 2 a week for a bout a month due to the distance factor and people bailing. But still, i jailbroke and unlocked about 5 iphones and made a quick 100 bucks for doing something that i enjoy doing. I love messing with gadgets. Keeps me occupied for a while.
tl;dr: people pay for this all the time.
I would join in as well! There is a kiosk at tempe market place where the guy does cell phone repairs and upgrades/updates... it might be his advertisement haha... i actually had him fix my old tmobile dash (htc excalibur) back when the power button broke and he resoldered the pins to make the power button work again...

[Q] Sell me your Thunderbolt please

Hi all. Any Bolt owner who wants to sell a Bolt if you're giving it up for another - i have recently obtained stupidity as a skill of mine, so obviously putting that to use right away, i handed my 1 yr old daughter my phone, and watched in slow-mo as she slammed it down to the kitchen floor, cracking the screen.
(It's not jagged, still smooth, and the touch is not damaged, but there are many "sprayed" cracks).
I have a nice th3ory rom on it, and i've already bought nice accessories for it, so i'm not giving up! Rather than wait for my wife's upgrade and take hers and decide whether to send mine in for repair, i want to know if anyone has a Thunderbolt they want to part with? I would take a rooted one that you confirm has a rom that has been discussed on the forums, i'm real happy with the Bolt and would like it back. Discuss here! Then maybe we can set up a price for it! appreciate it XDA!
i have a TB in great condition I MIGHT be willing to part with if the price is right.

Cool, incoming......
I have a TB running s3ns3th3ory (god what a stupid name for a rom). Phone is in gorgeous condition, has always been in a heavy, hard walled, leather case. No scratches to the screen or the body, no wear marks anywhere.
Don't know absolutely yet whether or not I really want to sell it but will consider offer.

Was afraid you would see that. If I didn't like it I wouldn't be running it but I sure wish you had thought up better names! Ok, I got the name wrong, but the same effect for the right name. Sorry, love your roms, just hate the names.
Pretty sure you cannot sell phones outside the marketplace on xda.
This belongs in the market, thread closed.

Nunchaku-like "Trick" Cover...

So I remembered watching this video of an amazing novelty case for the iPhone 6 and 6+ and always wanted to get one...
Turns out it was actually made!(albeit a different manufacturer) You can go to their site here to check it out.
Is anyone else seriously interested in something like this? Turns out they don't ship to the states but Canadians can get it! I'm sort of hoping on the off chance for someone to order one for me to buy... It's about $19 CAD or $15.50 USD. Shipping is about $33.50 CAD or $27.20 USD for you folks interested.
Hey where does it say that it doesn't ship to USA?

I tried checking out and the only countries listed are as follows: Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Canada.
Is no one really that interested? I can see why the cost of the case might not even be worth it at all. Just wanting to see if there was anywhere else since I've scoured the webs and haven't found one for our note 4.
That is possibly the stupidest case design I have ever seen. I'm betting after a few days use your phone will probably fly off it flipping it around like that!
Design looks cheap and ugly to me, and the nanchaku trick thing is stupid. Why would you want to do that, and with an $800 phone no less?
Sorry, but thats my 2 cents.

Lol! Like everyone else said... Looks silly to me. And risky! Why not just get a butterfly knife if you feel the need to flip stuff? Safer that way. Maybe us naysayers are too old for this stuff. Beside the fact (putting aside whether it's cool or not) I wouldn't even think of it unless I had insurance on it. God I feel like an old fart

I have a balisong, but you can't exactly flip that in public
The phone for me was purchased second hand for a fraction of the posted $800 so I can understand people feeling iffy about that if they did pay that much.
All-in-all, understood everyone.
I do like the adjustable angle to stand your phone up. All of these kickstand cases only have one set angle--the bad one.
