Sd card and wifi calling problem - T-Mobile LG G2x

Just want to post my finding.
I had the weirdest problem with my g2x yesterday. I was using the sd card from my hd2 to flash new rom and right after I flashed the new rom, I noticed that the wifi calling has really bad sound quality. I tried everything to figure out the problem and the wifi calling would still have problem. People could hear me from the other end but I can only hear echoes of their voices.
After getting ready to return the phone, I took out the sd card and voila.... everything works again!
Hopefully my story can help other people out there.

transferring files to sd card too slow

im trying to transfer a new rom(327mb) to my SD CARD to flash but its taking way toooo! long.. it receives by 500KB/S now, before it was MB/S. its taking 10minutes to transfer it. is something wrong with my SD card?
How good of a computer do you have? Try not multitasking like 10 things at a time and transferring if that doesnt help, you must have a lot on your sd card try clearing uneeded files.
If that doesnt work, the final solution, buy a better sd card...

Welcome to Class 2 SD cards. Now you know why they're so inexpensive.
I have a transfer rate of about 5mbs...I'm fine with that...

I had that problem when I backed up my SD card before making it a gold card. Everything came off the card at 18MB/s but it went back on at 600 KB/s. The card has continued to work fine since, though.
I have the 8gb that came with the phone.

[Q] SD card gone rogue????

I have an LG G2x, rooted, running MIUI. After about a year of use, my SD card is acting up. Its almost full, but I cant edit or delete most of the files on it. Ive tried formatting it, both from the phone and on my pc. Nothing helps.
Anyone got any ideas??? Thanks in advance.
Have you tried putting out into a sdcard reader then formatting from a pc
Sent from my Super Duper Uber G2x using Tapatalk
Yeah, tried that. And using USB storage on the phone.

I had one do that too. You're out of luck, I tried everything, even removing it during a format, just to screw it up. I asked everyone I know that knows anything about computers and only one person offered any sort of possible answer was that the controller had gone bad. You're also the only other person that I've encountered that has had this happen. Ironically the card was a Sandisk, not some cheap off brand.
Dang. Well, thanks. I just need a new SD card I guess..

were you having these problems before the new memory card? could be a faulty memory card; try swapping with a different one to see if you get the same issues.
No I wasnt having the probs I was using a 16gb sd card I have tryed that same problem persists

Brand and speed of cards?
You may want to check the brand and speed of your cards. Also check to see if the system keeps unmounting the SD card as the USB configuration will do that on a Play. The only reason I had failures is that the cards were not fast enough and were older cards I used elsewhere. Try a new card with a high speed rating.

2 fried sdcards in 6 months?

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm currently running Synergy r118 and I woke up this morning to find my SanDisk Class 10 64 gb sdcard unmounted and not working. I just replaced my 32 gb card about one month ago from the same problem.

A week after I got the s3 my sd card did the same thing. It sucked big time, had all kinds of data that wasn't backed up(stupid me). Reformatting the card fixed the issue and it hasn't done it since (knock on wood lol).

Just for mine last Friday, put my 16gb one from my old phone in, died before I got off work. Trying another one. It seems quite a few people have this problem.

I can't even get my SD card to show up on my computer. I have no way to reformat it. In my case it seems the cards have completely died

Sending in my patriot card for replacement. 2nd one to die. I'm pretty sure it's the phone killing them. This does seem to be a problem abs Sammy needs to fix

Mine did the same thing the other day. Class 10 32 gb. Hadn't had a problem with a class 4 having shuffled it thru a few different phones over the last couple yrs.

FWIW everyone I have seen with those issues the card has been formatted in exfat or whatever format phone uses by default. Apparently it corrupts something. You might try putting card in a computer and using a application to format SD card as fat32 and see if it helps?
I believe mine was fat32 from when I was using it in my incredible. Can't say for sure though. I will format this once though. It's a [email protected] when it goes all of a sudden, especially when it's hour 2 of 8.

I always format mine on the PC to fat32. I actually had a notification saying that the card was damaged. Dunno,I'll see if it happens again...
I've heard of this problem quite a bit but when I used an SD card in my GS3 I never had the problem.
I was using a Samsung microSD card.
Had the same card for a while. No problem here. Thing is my phone happens to randomly eject and remount the card every so often when I set the phone down.

Whatever it is, I can't afford to keep buying 64 gb sdcards regularly. I've had 0 issues with this phone until now, and burning up sdcards frequently is a pretty big one. I put in a spare 16 gb card after formatting it in the pc for fat32 tonight. *fingers crossed*

The same thing happened to me, and a lot of other people in this thread:

I got a SanDisk card, and got one of the "breathable" cases to keep things cooler, and I haven't had a problem since. Not sure if that's a real solution, but I'm happy with it
Now that I'm thinking about it, I remember that when I got this last sdcard, I formatted it to fat32 based on what I was reading. Not only that, it's a Sandisk, which half of the above thread stated to get. Now I'm really concerned that it's a hardware issue and I'll end up with someone's piece of crap refurb
Mine borked on me again this morning. (32 gb Sandisk cl10 fat32 format)Said there wasn't a card inserted and then after I pulled the card and re-loaded it,it said the card was blank or the data was un-readable. All my pics on it were visible in the gallery and I added some more thru out the day. Sometime this afternoon for no reason it seemed to straighten itself out and is showing up in storage. Other than cleaning the contacts on the card wtf-over?
Haven't had a single issue with mine, haven't even touched it since it went in when I bought the phone in early August. It's my old 16GB out of my Bionic so its nothing special

CleanRoM 5.6 ext SdCard suddenly removed error...

I'm having issue with extSdCard. Every time phone sleeps, upon wake it says that sdcard was suddenly removed, and is Preparing SdCard.
It is a 32gig, an I got another one same thing occurred.

Anybody heard of this or no a fix?

I've had a 16gb and a 32gb sd card go bad on this phone. I've ran 10+ roms, I don't think it's a rom issue. You can try formatting it in your comp if you can, just back it up. I formatted mine probably 20 times and it didn't fix the issue. If they are SanDisk, call the warranty department, explain your issue and they should send you a new one, they did that with mine. Good luck, it's an annoying issue and I can't seem to figure the cause.
I know for my new one, roms on internal only, music on external. And I will keep a usb thumb drive plugged in so i will have an option to eject.
Ok, I'll try to contact Sandisk for warranty. In the mean time I might head to Walmart an try another one to see if resolves issue...
