Hello XDA Im returning my HTC Inspire 4G due to the screen popping up. I turned s on and returned to stock. Now I have a few questions.
Do they just give me another one in the store or no?
What do I tell them about the screen?
Is this a known issue?
Will I have to pay extra?
THANKS!!!!
If youre in the 30 days u get a new one if not call att and get refurbished one the screen is not usuall to pop out and u dont pay extra . Or call htc they also give u a new one within 3 days att takes 6 days

Get him a desire hd. Its the same as the inspire but sold in Europe. The inspire 3g wont work in Europe. And yes there are many websites that you can buy an unlock code from. Just search the fourm for the website.

Hello, probably a dumb question, bulbs there a way to remove/uninstall the apps that came pre-installed on the phone? Blockbuster and the like? I won't use blockbuster and its using up space. I have everything stock. Not rooted, its a brand-new inspire and I would prefer to keep it stock. Hope to remove the useless junk!
Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using XDA App
Have to root of think. Then you can uninstall or freeze them. Might be able to freeze them unrooted, not sure. Though they would still be taking up space if you do freeze them, just not using up resources..
*ins>rt sig here*
In order to delete you will have to root. BUT you can try this. Download launcher pro from the market. Using launcher pro you can hide the apps. :-D
I got your 10 char right here
Titanium backup will freeze or uninstall them

doesnt TB need root to work though?

Just hide them with launcher pro. Thats what I did for the first 2 weeks when I got this phone while I read up on rooting. Then I rooted and never looked back. :-D

I just don't want to deal with doing it, if not needed. Wanted to see if it was possible to get riff of the unneeded apps, like blockbuster and twitter. And asphalt. Ugh! (also, my signature thingy says 'desire hd' instead of inspire 4b... Why?)

I see "Sent from my HTC inspire 4G using XDA App" for your signature, unless you're manually adding it in there to say inspire 4G.
Yeah I manually changed it lol
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
weird, i thought only custom roms had that issue. anyways, to answer your question, its because the inspire and desire hd are the same. desire hd is the euro model where inspire is the us model... atleast thats the way i understand it. I think there are a couple hardware differences, but nothing serious. thats why alot of the roms for the inspire make the phone think its a desire, because thats where they were ported over from.

Not sure if it's the same with the free app, but when you're not in a thread, hit menu, more, settings and scroll down to signature. Click panel and choose customize, then click on the customize panel. You can make it say whatever you want.

Has anyone tried to re-purpose the modem so it will work 3 or 4 g on Tmobile USA ?
Not possible. Only edge can work. Enjoy

I went around. In mmcblk0p2 you can edit the hex file sim carrier lock to T-Mobile. You will only get edge. After S=off you'll be able to get up to 4G using the diag GUI to change cell bands.

Contact HTC and explain the situation and get them to send out the new one. They sent you the wrong product. Request they cross ship or allow you to use your current phone until you receive the correct product. It should be a big deal.
Well I am suck with an s3 now they said that they couldn fix the. Device and they had to replace it with the current one but I think its a rip off I all ready have a device with s3 chip

Hi guys,
Time for another bounty. Jellybean seems to have brought a tough cookie with its system write-protection crap. I love you, HTC, but not when I can't flash my custom ROMs. As such, I will start off by pledging $20 (might even up this to $50 if I get sick of the stock ROM) towards a bootloader unlock.
Rules are as follows:
Post in the thread and I'll update the OP with what people have pledged.
The bounty will be paid to whoever can find a process to UNLOCK the bootloader, not just find a method for root for JB.
The bounty CAN be paid to someone outside of this forum that finds an unlock method that works for our phones. If there is any contention or conflict, I will ultimately decide who the bounty is paid towards.
Here's to hoping it happens soon:
Pledges:
nhshah7 - $20 - PAID
fleabeard - $20 - PAID
Sullydog101 - $10
eldeeinc - $10 - PAID
neuralfrenzy - $40
milkytron - $10
Total: $110
I'm in for $20
In for ten bucks

There isn't any root solutions, at&t patched up the only thing we were able to write to the only thing to do is sign a patition for at&t to allow HTC one x users to modify their system and to send it into jtag and have then downgrade and then s-off

Just because they patched that hole doesn't mean it can't be done. I just haven't heard of anyone working on it in awhile.

There are probably people working on it, but you won't hear about it until it's released. The devs doing this stuff don't like be pestered with "are we there yet" queries, which is what invariably happens if someone says they're "working on it."

+1. We heard NOTHING about s-off until just a few days before the method was released so I wouldn't worry too much. But like a previous poster said, if you really need to you can always get it JTAG'd for a reasonable price.
OP updated. I agree with the posts above, I do think people are working on it but we will hear about it when the job is done.
