Mhm, you need to adb push the MMS.apk from a stock build.
I think i should make a nandroid backup and mess with it.

Yeah, always nandroid first.
Either take the MMS.apk from a AOSP one or find one attached on the forums and place it in your /tools directory of the sdk and push it
Or try out Handcent SMS
Attached is the AOSP Mms.apk for 2.1
I'm using it and it is indeed faster than the stock HTC one. Also, I recommend trying out ChompSMS or Handcent, as they are equally as fast and provide more features/customizability..
I'm using the AOSP Mms.apk and the lag while typing is completely gone.
I thought it was a problem with the 2.1 ROMs, but it's really just HTC's Mms.apk in their 2.1 release.
how did you guys do this? i am using fresh 2.1.1 and i just tried to do this but it didn't work. i removed the original fresh 2.1.1 mms.apk and adb pushed the mms.apk i found on one of the posts above. i saw the aosp vanilla messaging app but when i tried to open it, it was force closing on me each and every time. so i had to revert and push the original fresh 2.1.1 mms.apk back in there and everything is working fine again. am i missing something here? are any of you using fresh 2.1.1? or are you guys using something like darchdroid 2.7?
EDIT: i removed both Mms.apk and Mms.odex via SDK and adb pushed the Mms.apk grabbed from a few posts above and everything is working great now! thanks folks
thanks guys, i got it, i really appreciate the help.
Is there a way to change the black theme on the conversations list to a white theme? I like the white theme in threaded sms view, but I dont like how the page before that is a black theme.
And also, is there a way to get the SenseUI style SMS preview underneath the lockscreen arc with this? That is the only thing that has been keeping me on the SenseUI Messages app...
I'm running nfinite's stock deodexed ROM.

I think so. Delete the email app and install the AOSP version.
Odd I had an aosp version from an evo rom but it says problems parsing it when I try to install

Email app from the galaxy s2

I have the .apk but haven't had any luck getting it to run on icbinb. Should the email.apk have any issues running on a froyo based rom?

I have the same issue...I have a backup, somehow, of the email apk bu that doesn't work. I can't install any 2.2.1 e-mail apks, only a crappy 2.1 version that doesn't work with my calendar.
Any ideas?
thats because the email apk from the sgs2 is based of gingerbread not frayo

I just got it to work using a 2.2 email app.
Put it on the SD card, install it via whatever app you want...it will FC. Just reboot and it works fine.

No worries...I still want the newer version of the email client that supports peak and off-peak polling for my corporate email account. This 2.2 version (yellow email icon) is a little different than the 2.2.1 version (blue email icon) that was missing from ICBINB rom...I'll download the stock rom and look for it.
Will any of the newer 2.3 email apks will work with ICBINB?
Thanks all. I'll see if I can get it to work.

Miui rom problem

Well I am using miui rom but contacts sync is very poor. so i want default htc sync app. Can anyone please provide me this app.
I love htc sync app specially the way how it merge google, facebook, twitter and phone contact in once.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
sorry, it won't work. I use Google Contacts, i make all my contacts under the Google Account. It syncs contacts across all ROMs very efficiently and quick. You can even edit them on PC, here - www.google.com/contacts
My friend is using htc default app in his Miui rom. I do not know how he extracted those apps from his stock rom.

Hmm, that i can tell you. But i'm not sure if it will work. It should be in the /system/app folder of the ZIP file of a stock ROM. You can get one from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506 . Any ROM will do, not necessarily your version. Extract the apk and install. I don't know the name of the app but it should be quite easy to find.
I saw every option in his miui rom like contact suggestions.. Merger of same name, numbers etc etc
So I want that app.

If that doesn't work, ask your friend
