can seriously not one person help me with this?
I am not an android developer, but I *think* it is in this file
http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/manifest/manifest-intro.html
Did you look around forums for the answer to this before posting and reposting?
(it might not be in the DroidX forums because it very well could be the same answer for all Android devices)

Hello mates, given that I apparently misplaced my topic in another section, I'm posting it here too..
Basically I'm interested to know just that. How could I change the name of an app into another name. So as to in a way "stealth" the app from third eyes that may have a look at my phone.
I have my device rooted, I'm sure I've crossed this info in the past (not here I think), but I fail to find it at the moment, and the search didn't bring up anything relevant.
Thanks in advance and I hope I'm in the correct place now.
You have to edit the application name by decompiling it. http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/manifest/manifest-intro.html
This would break the updating because of the different name.
Thanks man, higly appreciated!
So I have this app on my phone that created a phone ID for support and identification needs.
What I was wondering is if there was any way I could go into the apps database and change the ID tag... for uhh, reasons? Lol
Any ideas? And where would something like that be hidden. I tried doing a search for the name of the app in Root Explore and it brought up everything that had the name in it. But none of the files had my device ID in there.
No one has any ideas on this?

Alright well this may have already been answered. I saw something about this somewhere though I still couldn't find out how to do it.
What are the registry values for the email background.
Like the path to get to the values.
Because I know how to edit the registry so could someone tell me the path to get to the email background.
I know it's something like
local machine/control panel/theme and then something else....thanks in advance

Generally you need to go on the shared preferences of the application you are trying to hack and just go through the files till you find the currency
