Check your volume controls, There's several volume controls.
Press the volume button on the left of the Transformer.
A popup comes up, press the icon on the right, adjust those sliders.
On my Nexus S Android 2.3.4, system sounds = media volume. If I go to a game and lower the volume, and go back to android, my keyboard ticks are lowered.
I remember there are two areas where you can turn on off that keyboard feedback.
@nxt
Yes, checked many times (maximum level)...
I can hear only a noise, like if the sound have a problem to start (but other notification sound works well). I don't understand
@patseii
there are 2 settings, because there are 2 keyboards (asus and android). Do uou remember other settings in addition to these ?
Thanks.

Hi All,
First off, I'm not bashing this device. WAY better then others I've used in the past and performance is nice and snappy! I'm really happy that the geniuses here at xdev have come up with some alternative roms to push the envelope for us and this phone. I'm running Lithium 1.2.1 and love it!
The main thing that really irks me about this phone is the complete lack of audio feedback in many areas. On my Dell Streak and Samsung Captivate, when I went into settings, sound, and checked all the boxes under Feedback, IT WORKED. When I change the settings for whatever keyboard I was using (Swype, Go Keyboard, Thumb keyboard, Swiftkey, etc) and enabled sound ON - IT WORKED. When a Bluetooth headset connected - ALL SOUNDS WENT TO THE HEADSET! Notifications, ringtones, screen clicks, screen lock sound - ALL SOUND.
NONE OF THIS WORKS ON THE ATRIX 2. The only notifications that go to the headset is the incoming call alert (but NOT the actual ringtone) - no notifications on anything else ever go out to the headset - only the phone speaker.... Playing music works great, and phone operations work great. ANYTHING ELSE JUST PLAIN DOESN'T WORK AS EXPECTED.
I've been trying to find a good notification system that can announce calls and read my incoming text messages - NONE OF THEM WORK. oh sure, I can initiate a command and the bluetooth mic works but audio feedback DOESN'T. Skyvi, EVA, AVX, Andy, you name it I've tried it. It acts like it did everything but it never makes it to the bluetooth stack. I'll unlock my screen to find one of these voice assistants sitting on a "Do you wish to reply?" after it supposedly announced my message..... I've tried stock 2.3.5, 2.3.6, and every custom rom available but NO DICE. They all act the same - it seems the entire bluetooth audio stack/stream is spotty at best. and AVRCP response is spotty as well. Sometimes I have to hit my PLAY/PAUSE button 3 times to get the sound to come out in my headset... The first push wakes up my phone (which also makes no sense) and I've found that it actually starts playing the file previously selected - BUT NO SOUND. So I have to hit PLAY/PAUSE again (this pauses the silently playing track) and then hit PLAY/PAUSE again - NOW I GET MUSIC. Pausing a playing file is the same. First tap of PLAY/PAUSE wakes up the phone, 2nd tap asserts control of the music player (in this case Google Play Music but I've tried them all) and MAYBE the 3rd tap will actually PAUSE the music! FRUSTRATING!!! Especially if you listen to audio books!!
Don't get me started on the "now it's working, now it isn't" Haptic Feedback!
<stepping off soapbox>
I know most users don't really hit the bluetooth stack hard. Anyone out there seeing the same things as I am? Everything else seems to work flawlessly.
I have the audio problem as well. My haptic feedback works fine. I get notification sounds, when my notifications (fb and twitter) want to work. Everything else is pretty decent. Weird things: if I hold the phone too tight in landscape mode, the screen won't move, at all...
Personally I hate having my phone make noise, so i turn it all off and it's not a problem.

Wow... now there's one I haven't heard before! Mine is in an otterbox case but I'll have to try that....
I get notification sounds from everything... just not over bluetooth... it's frustrating.....

yep, my sound profile is as follows: Ringtone-alert bright but normally only vibrate
notifications- silent
never will my phone make noise for notifications, that's important when you are in school!
My sounds are intermittent. The screen unlock sound never works. Sometimes the plugged in charger sound works, sometimes it doesn't. There is no unplug charger sound. The haptic feedback is so weak I can barely feel it. Making selections in the app drawer never makes a sound. These are all set to ON.
If this thread was intended to be a 'question' you should have posted it in the Q&A Section, otherwise you probably should edit the title of this thread...
I dont think i have any problems with notifications, i prefer my phone to be wuiet all other times

I have similar sound experiences but I use a wired headset and don't care much for all the notifications (switched em off) so its not that big an irk for me.. My sometime-ish wifi on the other hand, THAT'S a different matter

I am currently using thumb keyboard and I also tried the stock android one also... There is no typing sounds nor is there any sound even though I have enabled Touch Sounds in the settings.
Anyone else experiencing this? Definitely not a deal breaker, but just something I wouldn't mind having...
Just checked myself, and both the stock Android keyboard and Thumb keyboard are making sounds. Check the settings for the keyboards - stock keyboard has Sound on key-press that has to be checked and Thumb keyboard has Sound settings.
Well thank you good sir.
I actually ended up downloading Audio Manager since I know it has access to all volume adjustments. I found system volume set to 0. Set it to 4 and all is good now.
Though it does confuse me a little as to why system volume isn't in the main android settings? Or am I just blind...
My Nexus 5 keeps muting the Ringtone & notifications volume and I the only way I can get it out is to turn it off and on again.
When its muted itself the volume rocker display shows the telephone with a line across it (muted).
The rocker allow me to increase the volume level to maximum but the speaker stays in muted mode. If I turn the telephone off and on again, the problem is solved (for some time).
Anybody have any idea what is going on?
Thanks.

I solved by myself. Not a Nexus 5 problem, but a Real Racing 3 bug.

Same thing is happening to me, but I don't have that app installed. How did you figure out which app was causing this issue?

I think you should find what program block you audio.
I find that googling, but I think you can try to launch and apps and find which one is responsible of the issue.

Had the same issue with my nexus 5. Here is what fixed it. go to settings-> apps -> running. look at the running applications , and kill one app at a time, and then immediately press the up/down volume button to see if you hear the beep. if you dont hear the beep kill the next process and repeat the process until you hear a beep. the last app that you killed just before you hear the beep, is the culprit. in my case, its textplus app, i had no volume mute issues after I uninstalled it.
Hi guys. I notice that when I have Tap sounds enabled (play sounds when making screen selection), the very first time it plays the tap sound is loud. After that it quiets down. If I wait two seconds, then the volume goes back to being loud for the initial tap sound only. Is this by design or is it a bug? I have no sound issues otherwise on my phone. Very unusual.
Yes it happens on mine too. It's not massively louder, just a tiny bit, but it's still a difference. There is no problem with the device.
Beamed in by telepathy.
Anybody have a solution to this? I've tried u sing media volume sync and it helps a little bit but the S8 has much lower volume on Bluetooth overall than any other pho me I've used in recent memory. Doesn't matter if I'm using my headset or in the car.
Do you have the volume on the phone turned up??
I've noticed some anomalies around bluetooth audio volume as well. For instance, I can be running Waze and Pandora on my car or though my headset on my motorcycle. Volume settings are maxed out on the phone, with the final master volume being either my headset dial on the bike, or head unit volume control in the car. Pandora never seems to be at quite full volume and just after Waze finished speaking a notification, Pandora volume will increase for a fraction on a second and then be reduced again. It's like there is some type of limiting going on and I've disabled all limit settings that I can find.
This is not just related to Pandora, but other streaming apps as well. And without Waze running, I don't notice increased volume in the streaming apps. Waze just seems to somehow enable the short period of increased volume.
Let's see if we can solve this once and for all. I've been experimenting and I am having some results. But does require an equalizer app. I am using Equalizer FX so I don't know how these steps work on other ones.
Open the app, click the three dots in the upper right > Settings > check "Global audio output mix" it's description reads, "Warning! It does not work for new devices. We do not recommend to use this feature. However this is the only solution for some players." (I am using YT Music)
After you turn that setting on, go back and click the middle tab "Effects" and you'll need to turn on "Loudness Enhancer" then use the slider to adjust it to your personal taste.
You don't even need to have the main page equalizer turned on. Just the main toggle needs to be on, the one right next to the three dots.
This part is just a little extra for those who don't understand the issue. SoundAlive maintains the media volume separately from all other device sounds. In the past we just used Package Disabler, turned it off, boom no more limited bluetooth music volume. Now it seems, it cannot be disabled with going rooted. *Flips table* You can easily demonstrate the issue by making sure you have setting on for the device volume synced with bluetooth volume. Connect to a bluetooth speaker, play a song, then plug and unplug an aux cable into the phone, you'll notice probably a 30% volume difference.

I've noticed the same thing running Waze, it's like something is limiting the output.
FWIW, I've also noticed the same behavior when the phone is connected to my car stereo. I'll have to pay attention to whether it occurs with other devices. I suspect the behavior will be the same. I can pause any playing music and then un-pause it and the music will start at full volume before the volume seems to get limited. I don't have another Android phone that I can try this with and I've never noticed such behavior with either Windows Phone or iPhone.

I can tell you my past Android phones didn't do this.. The last two were a Droid Turbo 2 and an LG G2.

I do usually have DriveMode (and sometimes Waze) running although I've run experiments without it with the same results. There just seems to be some sort of limiter being applied.
S8+ Low Bluetooth Volume

I've got the same problem with my S8+. Samsung support simply say try resetting the phone, but as the problem was there from new, what difference is that going to make! It seems to be a fundamental issue with this particular model (8 & 8+), as my iPhone7 and my older Note4 don't have the problem.
Same here. I use V4Android, as it's mixed into the CarHDROM v9, works excellently to overcome the system low vole on my 8+
I m not sure if a solution... But I tried disabling Bluetooth Media Volume Sync ( Settings - Bluetooth - Options (3 dots on the top right) - Media Volume Sync - (Turn off) )..
This gives phone media its own volume and the bluetooth device to control its own volume.
The volume is better after this for me.

I'm having the same issue, but I don't have the option for Media Volume Sync as apparently my car's stereo doesn't support that function. Any other ideas on how to get this fixed?

you might be misunderstanding the original poster. I have the s8+ and I did what he was talking about on the phone. On your s8+, you go to system settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth then if you tap on 3 dot top right menu, you will see 3 choices: Dual audio, Media Volume Sync, Bluetooth control history. If you tap on the media volume sync, it will be on but blacked out so that you can't turn it off, so what I did was in that menu select dual audio and turn that on. It will say it has to shut off media volume sync yes/no - select yes and media volume sync will now be off. Then just turn back off the dual audio and media volume sync will still be off.
Sorry that was long, hope it helps.
Fixed!

Thanks! This pointed me in the right direction, although my solution was just the opposite. Turning this on solved my problem. Just a week ago my S8+ had no issues with Bluetooth volume. But I sent it for repairs and they updated the software. After that, the max volume on my earbuds were a whisper. Turning Bluetooth media volume sync on brought it back to previous pre-repair levels. Maybe it works in my case because the earbuds don't have any volume control. I don't recall ever touching this setting previously though.
I also had surround sound on , turned that off and it helped. Sorry if I missed this somewhere earlier in the post.

Grad it helped. However, it seems that i am also back to square 1 after some recent update... Bluetooth audio is just whisper to me now... Specially for videos (be it a video on ur phone or youtube, etc). This is happening to me with a Samsung s8 and a Samsung Level U !!! Reported this to Samsung. Lets c what response i get for it.
Go to settings /general management/ reset/network reset. After this I had to re enter Wi-Fi password but it fixed it. Not my fix found it on YouTube but it works.
