[Q] How to set complete HD image as wallpaper? - Milestone XT720 General

Hi,
I have few high quality jpegs, and want to set them (complete picture) as a wallpaper, but when i open using gallery or media app, i can only select a portion of the image to be my wallpaper thereby sacrificing the resolution of the picture.
If we use Home/Settings/wallpaper and select wallpapers, we can set complete jpeg image as wallpaper; or use hdwallpaper app from market.
But, for our camera images and saved images, is there a way to set the complete picture as wallpaper?

How do I add custom wallpapers to the Captivate? I know I can do it through the gallery, but I don't want to crop them. Not only that, but I want them to show up in the actual Wallpapers list. Anyone know?

all wallpapers are 960x800 even if it doesnt ask you to 'crop them' the 'crop' is actually selecting a 960x800 section of the image.
as for them showing up in the actual wallpapers list, that is handled via the launcher.apk
its more trouble than its worth. just go through the gallery
you can have a crop-free picture if you use Doldol wallpaper maker

Default Wallpaper loction

Can anyone tell me how or where can I find the location of the default wallpapers for the CyanogenMod 10.0 mod for the Xoom Z604. I would like to add my own pics and perhaps modify some. When I choose to change the wallpaper I have to choose the CM Wallpapers app. How can I add more or remove wallpapers from that app.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
your wallpapers are located in the launcher or in an other apk. Put the Wallpaper in the folder "Pictures"
There, they can also be activated by selection.

You can also just go to the gallery, choose your image, and use the option to set the picture as wallpaper. However, doing that way limits the picture with vertical and horizontal frame. I prefer 3rd party app to do that so it can have the whole picture as wallpaper. Questions do not belong in this section though

All my wallpapers are zoomed in now. How do I get them to display normally?

All of my wallpapers are displaying as if they're slightly zoomed and I can't change how they display, even the stock ones, and this happened after I used some custom wallpapers. How do I get the stock ones to display properly?

Try saving the image you are trying to use to your gallery. Then, from gallery, use the menu option to set as wallpaper.

Are you using the Gallery to set your wallpapers or a third party app?

I'm having the same problem. I use Google+ Photos to set the wallpaper, it's normal for awhile but then eventually it zooms in slightly.
If I try to set with the Gallery app instead it forces me to crop.

Lock screen wallpaper

Hey, I wanna set the lock screen wallpaper to be as the desktop wallpaper.
I tried to set it by choosing a wallpaper in the lock screen wallpapers section under "themes" but I didn't found where the stock wallpapers path is.
I'm on liquid smooth kitkat 3.2 milestone.
Thanks.
I don't think I got you right... If you wanna set a wallpaper you don't need to apply it via theme engine, you can choose any pic you have on your phone regardless of it's location. You just have to select it from "documents" or "gallery".

In Themes - Wallpapers I get only the wallpapers from the installed themes (I am on Android 5.1 tho). If you're looking for a wallpaper that comes with a theme, being it for desktop or screensaver, that pic is embedded in the theme apk. That's a zip file so you can open it with WinZip or similar program and look inside it for the pics you like. You can extract them from there, save them on your sdcard then set them as your desktop wallpaper if that's what you want

Since when I got the S6 I noticed this problem !
First time you set the picture there is no problem and the image is fine. At this point the system saves a copy in your history of wallpapers, If you set your wallpaper using this history the quality will get very bad.
Instead you should try re-selecting and re-cropping the picture even if the picture is already there start all over...
