Please HELP I think a ROM bricked my phone! - HTC Inspire 4G

I have an HTC inspire after a ROM install F1 CM 7 V3 it went to the boot logo on it's stuck, I pulled the battery and still stuck.. I dont know what to do....

Turn off hold volume down and power and open up and click recovery if you have a backup but if you don't then put a P98IMG file and restore you

OK I did this, but it wont let me get to recovery, it wants me to update HBOOT?

Yeah it wont let me get passed HBOOT?? any help?

Hold down Vol+power
Then use the volume down to select Recovery then press Power to select it.

Thats what im saying I do this and it shows HBOOT and all the stuff on the bottom including recovery, but when I hit the down key it wont move... keeps me on HBOOT and then HBOOT starts its script...

Remove the PD98IMG.zip from the root of your sd card if you intend to boot into recovery and restore a backup. As long as it's on the root the bootloader will load it.

[Q] Help! bootlooping

So i installed latest cm7 nightly 55 and it started normally waited about a minute on the cyanogen mod bootscreen then started looping. any ideas?? i have cwm recovery installed (non nvflash version) if i hold down vol up it goes into a S/W upgrade screen then goes black. holding Vol Up and Down doesn't do anything on a virtual windows 7 pc.
Couple of questions: Which rom were you using before you flashed the nightly? Are you sure it was looping? Sometimes the initial boot after a flash takes a minute or 2.
Needless to say you need to NVflash recovery. Do that for sure whether you're looping or not.

Ditto on the above - plus what did you wipe before you flashed? Alos, you might try pulling the battery and starting up again.
You amy not be able to do anything if that does not work until you flash a real recovery. Follow the one-click method on the dev thread - NVflash and recovery all in one package.
Thanks for the input guys, I tried using nvflash but it doesn't pick up the device when I try to install the apex drivers. I am using a virtual machine so I'll try on a regular one.

Actually guys I got a sensation so ill sell the g2x if anyone is interested. I'm gonna include an 8gb sdcard.

You needed to clear the cache and then reinstall the rom. That was my problem.

[Q] Phone will Not go into recovery..

I Had it rooted.. Tried to flash RCMix3D Kingdom V1.9.
Followed the Video Exactly. The phone sat for 30 min at the HTC screen and would not boot. So then i tried to get into recovery by holding down the Power and Vol. It went into it 1 time and reloaded the Rooted img. Since then i cant get the phone into recovery either with Rom Manager or by Holding down the Power and Vol buttons. Fast boot is disabled.
Any Ideas?
Will the phone boot up fully?

Remove the SD card from the phone.
Reboot into hboot.
Once it is unable to find the SD card (and therefore no PD98IMG.zip), you'll be able to choose recovery.
Put SD card back in phone.
Doesn't rom manager have an option to flash alternate recovery? (I dont use rom manager, Is there an amonRA recovery for inspire?) If so, try that.
Or put the recovery you wanna use on root of sd card, and use terminal emulator from market to flash/push a new recovery. (I forget the exact commands to use, but I know they can be found in OP of amonRAs recovery thread in the evo 4g subforum)
Hope ya get it.

Yes it will boot up.. It shows Superuser and rom manager.. I tried to use rom manager to get into recovery and the screen just fades to a black screen.. And sits there till i restart. I have S -off on the menu still.. I got into it by replacing the SD card with the Original one.
But now i'm trying to figure out if i need to re-root the phone or go back to stock and start over.. These phones are alot harder to mess with than the Iphone..
Took the SD card out went into hboot and selected recovery.. The screen just fades to black and sits there..
Thanks to everyone that Helped... I finally got it up and running with the new Rom.....
And thanks to legend221 His post in the Rom Info area Helped me get it installed right.
ok, the problem your having is the same exact one my friend is having... can you please link the post where you found the solution???

TRYING to install firmware

Ok so Im trying to install the latest firmware, i put it on the root of sd, checked the name and everything and when i go to boot nothing happens. No prompt.. nothing.

did you hold down the power and volume down? It should automatically start up. Maybe you renamed it as a double .zip. Windows hides that by default just make sure.
Uncheck the "fastboot" option also

Didnt work.... None of it. But i finalllyyyy got it to work on its own. After like ten times booting it, it finally scanned on its own and its all good. Idk what the problem was or how i solved it other than just booting over and over lol.

Please help!

I have the AT&T One X... Ive rooted it, unlocked the bootloader, blah blah blah. Im sort of new at this, so when something happens, Im a little clueless. The point of learning, I suppose. Anyway, today I did a factory reset and restored to my earliest backup. The phone booted originally but then said process.android something or other has stopped working. Phone turned off. Now, when I try to turn it back on, it wont go past the boot animation. Its not connecting to my computer to reboot it with a command, either. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and ASAP.

From the ROM. Thats when it told me process.android stopped, then went to the htc one x loading screen.
Frankly, my dear, you ****ed up.
Whenever you want to Wipe ANYTHING you have to do it from your recovery (TWRP).
Boot into TWRP by holding the down volume and power, for what seems like a lifetime and try to restore from there?

I will try this as soon as I get some charge on the battery. Thanks a lot
I finally got to the bootloader! What a relief. Thankfully I work with cell phones, so I had access to this loaner phone so I could find some answers. Maybe one day I'll be able to actually provide some substance! Haha

Now, however, I cant seem to find any ROMs installed on my phone. I know Ive done this somehow before, but how do I get a rom on the phone when the SD card wont mount to my computer?
And when I try to do a factory reset in TWRP it tells me in the dialog: E:Unable to mount /sdcard
Im beginning if this phone and I just werent meant to be. haha
Twrp did the mount thing to me as well. Still plugged USB and PC found the SD anyway. Copied ROM to SD, flash and bingo. Other option is to download the stock RUU.
PS I wouldn't publicly admit u work for at&t. J/k
Well kinda.

My computer still doesnt show any connection to the phone. I tried downloading the RUU and when I ran it on PC, it said it couldnt connect to my phone.
When doing RUU, make sure you relock your bootloader. Instructions here http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-re-lock-htc-one-x-bootloader/
make sure you have HTC Sync and drivers installed if you are flashing RUU.
Also when u get into your bootloader, highlight bootloader and select it. After, right above that, in red it will read fastboot usb. Until then your pc wont recognize it.
It worked! You guys are all awesome!

[S3]cant install cwm recovery

hi. unlock went great but installation of cwm - tried both ones - touch and normal - didnt work. followed the procedure exactly as explained in the thread. what can i do to root my phone?
thanks
Download GooManager from the Play Store. Then inside the GooManager App go under Settings -> Install OpenRecoveryScript and Download the file given. Then you can reboot into Recovery and you get the same as CWM.
Seems like I have to root first. How do I do that without recovery? Torxx guide says recovery first and only after that root. I am not a Rom flashing noon (had about 10 customs Rom on SGS) but I can't figure this HTC one s s3 thing out... It beats me. Can you please help me do this? Bootloader is already unlocked, that was the easy part
Thanks

still no luck. when i try to enter bootloader by pressing pwr btn + vol dn +vol up it doesnt work. when i press just pwr and vol down it enters fastboot. if i click fastboot, then i get a bootloader option, but when i click it it goes back to fastboot. fastboot is disabled in power options. this is really starting to annoy me..... think i will sell the damn phone and go back to samsung ((((((
Have you unlocked the bootloader? (check in the bootloader if it's saying unlocked)
If no, you have to do the whole unlocking process again.
If yes, reboot into bootloader (power down your phone. Press power button and volume down button). Go into fastboot. Plug your device into usb and start install-superboot-windows.bat.
I did that. It was the only solution left. It worked. Thank you again for taking the time to assist me

Did you try the r2 of cwm? I don't think I can post links yet' but modaco had a post for rooting that I used and I had to use the r2 and then it worked. I would google something to the effect of "inurl:modaco root HTC one s" or when I get a chance I'll pm you a link.
Because the cramp just won't go away!
Thanks a lot, my problem was solved. I think I used an older version of that recovery, but at least it worked. From what I read around here the r2 you are talking about is an upgrade, isn't it? Is it somehow better than r1?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
Nope this thread tells you to only use r2.
