Andriod 2.3 Lg P509

Hello,
I bought a new LG P509 from eBay running andriod 2.2
Is it possible to upgrade this to the latest 2.3?

There is an unofficial 2.3 CM7 ROM out for this phone, but the official update for this phone is supposedly coming June/July.

They have been posting possible release dates for the update on their Facebook page. Even though it might be false LG has said that the Lg Optimus One lines of phones will receive at least Gingerbread. On facebook they released a video of the 2.3 update, but it could of been faked.

[Q] Android 2.3 on LG P970. When ?

The phone has some very nice specs, that can flawlesly run android 2.3
So, do you guys have any ideea when that's going to happen ?

updete to 2.3 ???

When the LGP970 was presented in Madrid on May 11th by LG and Orange-Spain, the LG-Spain speaker said the update to Gingerbread will come this summer. I don't know if he meant the Orange-Spain branded phones or all LGP970.

I`ve emailed LG Customer Service and they said:
"Dear customer, the official update to android 2.3 gingerbread for LG P970 will be released in september this year."

woooow ... we ll have a loong wait )

At last v20b official on my phone - loved it so far, still exploring - definitely smoother.

Anyone knows how to root the new 2.3.4?

According to this article, we're finally getting a Gingerbread update on Feb 1. I'm hoping that this fixes the data problems I've been having with the European GB versions, and maybe even fix the ghost call issue. I hope it can be rooted soon too.

I tried it and it still gives me the original V10C from July, but I'm not entirely sure if I did it correctly.

Well I suppose you can flash the stock V10C kdz file to return to stock. I'm not quite sure, but I think you should be able to just flash the new GB coming out without any problems.
joax11: I'm probably going to hold off on updating to GB right away until it can be rooted. I'm sure someone else on Rogers can upload the kdz file though.

yeah I just checked my LG update utility too under "Supporting Model" and it still says V10c for Rogers P925g.... common LG... don't make us wait on the day we've been waiting for!
I noticed a version of V20c on the screenshot of the phone in the original article posted. I'm sure that we won't have that rooted anytime soon, especially since 21b can't be rooted!
I just chatted with a support rep for LG Canada and here is what they said: "Unfortunately we have not been advised that the update is going to be released today. Where did you hear see this information?" I replied with the link and they they said: "The only information that we have been provided at the moment was that your model will be getting ice cream sandwich in the second or third quarter of this year." I then pushed it further and he said: "I was just advised that it will be soon. No time frame was given. Sorry.
ICS will be second or third quarter of this year."

When I contacted LG today they told me that they are not informed about any updates,and advised me to contact my network provider.

hmm apparently there are all kinds of blogs copying mobileSyrups original post and modifying the information slightly.. its all over the web. No concrete proof though of course.
My LG tool still says v10c directly from their servers and I'm in Canada on Rogers carrier.

probably just vaporware I am still running the brazil v20a rom.

It looks like they have got the 20C ready but just not allowing download yet.
If you try http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP925G/ARGSDB/V20c_00/V20C_00.kdz
You will get :
Forbidden
Your client is not allowed to access the requested object.
While if you change the 20c to 20b, you will get:
Not Found
The requested object does not exist on this server. The link you followed is either outdated, inaccurate, or the server has been instructed not to let you have it.
So this indicates indeed the file is there already.
Also, looks like 20A is there, too.
I hate LG keep us waiting for so long...........

So has anyone got it yet? Because I accidently installed v21a (don't ask) and I love the 2.3.5 but the lack of 4G/Hspa is hindering me but in my current area even on 2.2 the 4G in my area only does maybe 140kbps if I'm lucky rogers hasn't updated the pipe line. I also don't want to risk going back to 2.2 because I love v21a its so fast and 100% better

Has anyone in this region (Middle East) System Version 65.1.40.XT910.MERetail.en.06 Build Number 6.5.1-167-SPD-IRD-40 recieve OTA for ICS 4.0.4? All I can find onilne is users in the US CDMA Verizon has pushed for the OTA. I've been checking none stop but it keeps saying its upto date. I got furious when my Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini recieved 4.0.4 and the mighty Razr Maxx is still kickin' on GB.
Please drop a line. Thanks.

Honestly, I'd stopped waiting for the update to happen.. i've gone ahead and flashed the retail.eu 4.0.4 version and my phone has been running smoothly.. no issues whatsoever! just go ahead and do it.. u'll find the link on the main xda forum page.. its a little bit of a run-around, but you'll eventually have ICS on ur Razr :fingers-crossed:

Yes it contains Arabic but you'll have to download Arabic keyboard from play store and working great with GSM.

could you make a simple step by step tutorial on how you did it ?
like which retail.eu ROM did u flash ???

It's rediculous. It's October 2012 and the once "Flagship" phone not even a year old, wont update to ICS. I'm not even gonna start on JB. When I called Motorola Kuwait (Axiom) they said the update will never come OTA or any other way to my build number (Middle East version). I refuse to buy the new Motorola Razr HD due to proper support; in that area, Motorola suffers GREATLY! Doesn't make sense to me, doesn't Google own Motorola Mobility? Why are'nt Motorola phones already running Android Vanilla?! It's really frustrating.

Has anyone been working on Marshmallow? Or are we waiting on the official OTA if it does come out?

.......if CM has released 6.0 then the CM being made for the T-Mobile/Metro variant is 6.0 other then that we are waiting fir the OTA/KDZ preferably a KDZ cause then a Custom Rom can be made from it so people can keep root...

Ota's were announced for tmobile with an undetermined date but supposedly toward the end of November or the beginning of December

Looks like those of us not on a ROM should get an OTA by the end of the year. Since I'm on the Katana ROM I will be patiently waiting for something custom or for an official release of a kdz

there are no official KDZ...apparently it's just some works that leak the stock firmware...when they can, hence why not every carrier get's the love of KDZ

Does 6.0 will come to LG g stylo on boots mobile?
