Has anyone tested this app on the TF yet?
Looks promising! If any of you report that it works well I'll be looking to purchase it!
I bought it day one, and had some troubles with setting it up, email'd the dev and he helped me out extremely quick. I really like it, but it seems to send out the same text message multipule times. But, its pretty awesome and the dev is pretty cool, so I'm supporting it, I'm sure it will be flawless soon.

Atakephone dialer, nr 1 for me

+1 for a aTakephone
Downloaded superdial this morning.. I really like it.. dead easy to use..
Not sure if this is a dialer function or part of timescape, but everytime I end a phone conversation, the phone locks itself and I have to slide to unlock it.
I originally thought it was because the conversation is over 2 minutes and the phone automatically locks after 2 minutes, but it seems to be doing this for 30 second calls as well. Anybody else getting this? Its just annoying to unlock it everytime a conversation ends.

Unless they enable the "Read-to-me" feature on the Nook app the NC will be unbeatable! Gonna install the Nook app now; after switching from the XOOM I completely forgot about that one!
Starting yesterday, my Nook app seems to repeatedly reset to page when I'm reading anything (magazine, eBook, etc). It will go blank, and then about a second or two later, the screen returns with the menu overlay. Happens about once a minute, makes it really hard to read. Odd that it just started happening.
I'm going to downgrade and root this week anyway so I can do a factory reset for 3.1, but I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this in case that doesn't fix things.

I have been using WhatsApp on my vibrant to chat with friends overseas on iPhone and BlackBerry, however the developer has no plans to support tablets :-(
Any recommendations for good cross platform free SMS?
Thanks.

This looks interesting but doesn't support BlackBerry which is what most of my contacts in Indonesia use.
Ok...what's the catch? This cannot be this good and save me money at the same time!
TextPlus is awesome!
Before I cancel my texting plan on two phones....can someone tell me something I need to know?
It's just too good to be true.
I tried to install it on my transformer via market and it says its not compatible with my country. I live in Canada so guess its a no go for us canucks

It's a free app so maybe you could try and sideload it? (get the apk.file, install with a file manager)

I managed to find it from another website, I have tried a couple versions now and did finally get one to work. Textplus does work pretty well, sent a few messages to my g/fs phone and back and no lag at all.

This is really cool, but is there a way that I can have something such as google voice mirror my personal number to my textab number? You know, so if say, my wife texts me to mycellphone, that my phone still recieves the message, but it is forwarded to my text apps' number on my tab?

This is exactly what I need. I use a flip phone for my beater, so it would be nice if the texts that come to it would also come to the TF so I can reply there when I am near wireless...
Anyone know of a way to do this?
I don't want to have to pull out my phone every two minutes to send/read a text message while using my tablet. I used Airdroid on my computer to read and send text messages on my phone, but it doesn't work on the tablet. Anyone know of an app to do this?

I'm using Tablet Talk:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apdroid.tabtalk
So how much battery does it actually drain while constantly listening over BT or WiFi?
SyncSMS

Preferably something free. I don't care if I have to be on the same wifi network, that's how Airdroid works

As far as I know, there are no free options that sync between your two devices (i.e., they take care not to screw up your conversation list).

MySMS is a pretty handy app which i use regularly on my tab, pc and phone.
The UI doesn't seem to be as fluid on the tab as it does on the pc and phone though (even with hardware acceleration turned on in MySMS settings).
I've always used Google Voice.
Pro: Free txt and calling (in US)
A spare phone number.
Gmail email notification & copy of txt
Con: No sync with phone

what do you mean? The messages i get on my phone using gv, show up on my tablet as well. If someone calls my phone and leaves a message, the notification pops up on my tablet as well. Is that what you mean? Every message i send and receive using GV, shows up on both devices.

I should have explained a little further.
I use my Google Voice number to txt from a PC or my Tab 8.9 and do not use GV on my cell. I haven't linked the two numbers yet.
Due to a current medical condition I can't talk, thus the various work arounds for emailing & texting.

I just tried again over wifi and it worked. Maybe their servers were slammed or it needed to be done on my home connection or something.
Nice, thanks! I'll be trying it out. Looks cool! I wonder why it's normally so expensive, sheesh... Well I suppose most people won't have it because of that. I like how the folders work too.
I already use Go SMS by those people.
Anyway, thanks for the tip!
