WM6 - how to get the pretty top-level screen?

I keep seeing you guys with the big digital clock on the home page....
Ok, ok, what am I missing? I grabbed one of the WM6 ROMs here, flashed it, it works fine, got my apps reloaded, all is good - but I can't figure out how to get the top level page to look any different than what I had for WM5!
I must be missing something stupid...... a quick pointer please?

Your rom probably wasnt cooked with that application. It is called HTC HOME and you can download it as freeware, just search the forums for it. But first if you haven't already done it, go to settings, today, and items and check if htc home is listed, if it is then just check it and apply the settings.

What the hell were they thinking, i only got my tab yesterday so im not really sure how to go about this.

you will need to theme it (but i think there is no theme out yet), or a replacement app.
i do not like it too. some samsung apps are uniformly with wood theme (like the book app, the reader hub, etc., others are white and blue. fragmentation typical for android

I highly recommend Youlu. One of the best looking contact apps i've ever seen. Has a MIUI feel about it. Easy to use too. My only issue is it only seems to get contacts from one account.

I'm working on a gingerbread style theme for the modified SGT apps that have the fugly wood theme however I had to take a break for the holidays, I'll post them when I'm done though if you want.

FC and phone rebooted not to start again.

This only working on euro firmware, my asian fw had the same issue which lead to reflash..

Same issue....this is NOT working on Euro Rom (JME)

Boot-loop, with the Samsung logo. Either reflash or will try to access the files in recovery (not CWM since I have the protected bootloaders installed), else will have to reflash....

i too want no more wood vaneer effect..
why cant we have stock android theme for our tab, i hate all the white menus that samsung have used too, bring back the stock black pages with white text.
the contacts app posted above looks nice, may be we could re res our own apk files ??

[ROM] DI14 Blues ROM

With a little work and permission from jabbawalkee I have ported parts of the MattedBlues theme into this ROM. The original MattedBlues can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768848
I would also like to add a thanks and credit to nitsuj17 for some of the images and the dialer. At the time of my original post, I was unaware that some of the pieces I was using were his.
This is in beta as I have not yet gotten everything in it that I want, but it's a good start and usable. As usual take a nandroid backup before you flash anything. I am not responsible for anything you do to your phone while flashing any of this content. That being said, I have had no problems with any of it. It uses all of the dependencies so all of the stock apps should work and anything that has been removed can be added from the Pick-n-Pack ROM.
Here are a few screen shots. They are low res, so the dock icons look especially fuzzy.

I probably should have explained a little more. I only decided to deem it a ROM because I left the apk's in tact. Since it installs apk's and not just the drawables and xml's I couldn't call it a theme. I will probably start a pull on all of that stuff so I can put it out as a theme also, but I have several others I'm working on right now so this was the easier for me. Kinda lazy I know, but if the permissions come in I want to be able to get them put out for the variety for now.

OK, I took the time, not as long as I thought btw, to go ahead and rip out the files that need to be taken out of the ROM to make a theme only version. I will post it in the themes and apps section as soon as it finishes uploading.

[REQ] Chacha Lockscreen with shortcuts

Has anyone noticed that the Chacha Lockscreen seems to be the same as the Sense 3.0 with shortcuts?

It looks like it is also running 2.1 Sense. It may be a good idea to check this out and see if we can port some of the stuff over to the 2.1 roms.

Absolutely, But the Kingdom ROM isn't our size either and it worked. just thinking that maybe we can use some of the back bone and throw in some images, maybe from the Doubleshot port or something.
Again... I am very ignorant. So forgive me for talking out of my ass. Just trying to think outside the box here.

Awesome. Im just thinking it might be worth a look. If it turns out to be a dead end, I am sorry.
If you need any of the specific files from the rom, let me know, I have it pulled apart here.
I tried to install the apk unmodified and it installed but doesnt include any shortcuts.
I do not see those "Idlescreen" Apks that i thought were responsible for lockscreen notification and animations.

What about the salsa Rom, its also a sense 2.1 with ginger 2.3 and has the 3.0 lockscreen , and the best part is that it fits on portrait phones. Not like chacha which is a landscape view mod.

Choose live wallpaper

Ok, I feel like a complete noob asking this, especially considering I am trying to learn how to develop an android app, but how the heck do you set a live wallpaper? I thought you just long press>wallpapers>live wallpaper, but I see no such option. I know I've done it before, and I do have a live wallpaper installed, I was just playing around and accidentally set a static picture as my background. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Can you at least get there by navigating from the home screen/ settings/ wallpaper?

Did you accidentally freeze live wallpapers picker? Can't imagine how the entire folder would disappear other than being frozen.

As a matter of fact, I may have. I deleted all the apks I figured I didn't need (vzw, yahoo, etc) from system/apps and I don't see anything that says live wallpapers picker there or in my system>apps. Do you know the exact name of the apk, as I couldn't find it in the synergy zip either?

Could it be that you... don't have have any live wallpapers installed?
Suggestion, try downloading a free live wallpaper from the market and see if the option shows up after that?

Yep, that was it. I was dumb enough to delete secLiveWallpapersPicker.apk. I must have accidentally thought it was one of the built in wallpapers I don't use and deleted it. Glad I made a backup of everything.
I added it back in and it worked perfectly. Got my lovely JB Live wallpaper back, thank you so much!
