i upgraded my touch pro2 to the htc 7 pro. the specs meet my needs but none of my old software will work. such as tomtom, smartwatchm, etc. is there anyway to install an older version of windows moblie such as 6.5 but with all the correct drivers to make all aspects of the phone work?
No. Lesson here is to always research before buying a phone!

Hi guys
The windows 7 developement and hacking discussion is going on for last few months we all knows that.windows 7 Rom is capable for htc fuze and touch pro. what do you guys feel, what are all the changes need for windows7???
If its then?????
How much storage do you want?
Do you value a physical keyboard?
Which do you think looks the best?
How big of a screen do you want?
What models will work on your carrier (this will probably limit you the most)?
Hello my quetion is when comes a windows phone 7 rom for the HTC touch pro
probably never.
the Touch Pro does not meet the hardware requirements.
Never, and never. Touch Pro's SoC has an ARMv6 instruction set. WP7 needs at least an ARMv7 SoC. End of the story.
shame, but thanks for explaining why in lay terms.
if you talk about windows 7 connection between phone and pc use mobobile microsoft center
i got this old phone because my iphone was stolen. windows 6.1 is on it right now. this is the at&t version of the phone. Please be aware that i know nothing about roms/phone hacks/etc...
i would like to upgrade this phone to windows 6.5 (or 7 if it can do it)...
thank you for your help.
also, what software do i use to hook the phone to the pc (windows 7 64-bit)
um, anybody! HEY THERE!
To connect the device to Windows 7 you will need Window Mobile Device Centre.

There is a link for 32 and 64 bit versions.
For upgrading the ROM start here.

Mobile 7 is probably impossible.
Is the upgrade form 6.1 to 6.5 worth all the hassle?
well, let me ask you: is winmo 6.5 way better than 6.1?
Only if you really need the finger flicking Sense iPhone style user interface. That's all it seems to offer over 6.1
First off unlocking the phone and upgrading the stock Rom is probably the best thing you can do to improve performance .
I did this and am running basically a stock Rom with all the garbage-ware removed, it is more stable and faster . See my sig for the Rom..

6.1 and 6.5 , both have there advantages , it all depends on what you like..
I want to buy a windows phone 7 device.
I've read some reviews but I don't know to select which one: Samsung Omnia 7 or HTC Mozart?
I've heard that some HTC devices are made in china and you can't install new (coocked) roms on it easily.
Software support is very important for me and I use to study on phone so a proper screen for reading is mportant.
Does every app run on mozart runs on omnia 7 too?
And something else: HTC mozart is cheaper than Omnia 7! It seems weird for me because mozart camera is 8MP.
In terms of cost the parts used to build the phone makes the price. Even if the mozart had a 8mp and the omnia had a 5 the 5 may be better because of the quality.
no more answer?
Hi all,
I'm looking into buying a windows phone (found a htc 7 mozart really cheap) and I've made some extensive research on the os (I plan to start developing). However I have one question left: When Windows 8 will be released, will we be able to upgrade without having to change phones? Does anybody have any clue? Especially for 1st gen devices like the mozart.
Thanks in advance
i am sure it will, atleast the Windows 8 upgrade, maybe a bit later
else Microsoft have told about that
I really hope so. I want my focus to run Apollo
