[Q] Cannot uninstall LauncherPro due to custom theme (Droid 2 Global) - General Questions and Answers

Hey guys. So I recently installed LauncherPro and upgraded to plus. Everything was working fine. Was bored, browsing the Fission ROM manager, and saw that there was a Gingerbread LauncherPro theme. I installed it and went into the LauncherPro settings, and it was no longer registered as the Plus version. Did some research and apparently this happens when using a custom theme, i.e. the Gingerbread one I downloaded.
I went to uninstall LauncherPro so I could re-install it, but the uninstall button is grayed out and unclickable. Apparently this too happens with some custom themes. Went into my Fission folder... but there was no apk or anything of the sort for the Gingerbread theme for me to delete D:
Help appreciated, I'm quite confused on this one. Thanks in advance.

I've never played with the LauncherPro custom themes, mainly due to issues like this. They look good, but they're an a*s to get rid of. You'd need to either get hold of the default theme somewhere and see if you can flash that over the top then remove, or get root access and wipe out LauncherPro that way.
Good luck!

Have you tried the Root Uninstaller?

Edit: After toying around a bit more I finally got rid of the pesky bugger. Time to spend the rest of the night working on my layout haha. Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.

Black Notification bar with stock rom

Hi, i was wondering if this was possible? Im new to the nexus one, and havent flashed on android for a long while, so im not really interested in flashing a rom yet, but im super tired of the white bar at the top. is there a way to change that without flashing?
I had wondered this before, the short version is that the stock rom is odex'ed, meaning you can change the bar to black, but the text will also be black.
ROMs are still the name of the game though, I use MCR 2.0, it's very close to stock (except rooted, himem/undervolted kernel, and a few other goodies). I'd never go back honestly.

not sure where you got that info from, but if you are on a stock ROM, you cant change the bar or much else for that matter without a home replacement app.
no root access=no abilities to root files.
to the OP if you are using the stock rom and have root access, yes you can do what you want to do, either with metamorph or by flashing an update.zip
in either case make sure you find the one you want, nandroid, and do what you gotta do. if you dont like it, revert to nandroid. there are a few black bar themes and other things of the like here.

I think he is saying that he has an unlocked bootloader and root access on a stock rom, and doesn't feel like flashing a custom rom yet, so no, he cannot get white text in the status bar for the clock and date on a more recent stock rom without first de-odex-ing /system/framework.

[Request] Android Keyboard from Skyraider ROMs (not the gingerbread keyboards)

I've been using Skyraider ROMs since 2.5.x and have been more than satisfied with them. However, I felt it was time to change things up a bit... so I went ahead and flashed Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo By Incubus26Jc.
The ROM is great so far. However, I can't get used to the Gingerbread keyboard or the black and green theme. So I was wondering if there was a way to get the android keyboard from the Skyraider ROMs onto my phone.
Your help is appreciated!
So I did a little more searching around and think I may have found a solution; I just need to know if this is the right thing to do.
Would I be able to simply pull the
/system/app/LatinIME.apk
/system/lib/libjni_latinime.so

out of the Skyraider .zip and push it to my phone?
Incubus offers a smorgasbord of options. If you go check the thread, there are a few different keyboard options that you can flash from recovery.

[Q] What sense version do I have?

I have just upgraded my Verizon TP2 to the stock MR3 rom. It is SPL unlocked, but I couldn't handle the buggy nature of cooked roms. So my problem is that I got spoiled by energy's facebook tab and the shortcuts on the home page. I tried to load co0kie home home tab with no luck. It kept telling me that co0kie home tab was not installed when I would run the CHTeditor. I did try uninstalling it and turning off sense and reinstalling it with no luck. I removed it and gave up. Then I tried installing the Meltwaters FBtab. My problem is that will not work either. I am wondering if I have Sense 2.5.192x (& old sense) and need the Patch.
I am totally frustrated that I can't seem to figure out where to locate my version of sense. I don't want to install the patch for the meltwater FBtab only to screw something up and have to hard reset. Can anyone help?? Thanks in advance.
Here is the name of the file that I used to load my current ROM: RUU_Rhodium_W_WM65_VERIZON_WWE_3.04.605.3_RS_2.23.00WV_NV_VZW_1.94_1111_PRL58005_Ship
Go to Settings Tab and click on About.
That didn't help, but thanks for the suggestion. It has a bunch of information on Boost Software. There is a bunch of copyright information, but no sense version #.
Go to.....to get Manila version
On the MR2 ROM you go to Settings/About Phone/Software Information.......Should be on that page if MR3 is similar.

[Q] TiBU Icon gone, Can't Format Boot

Thank you for your great board and programs.
Noobie(3 wks), Droid X, 2.3.34
Current issues(just the facts m'aam)
1.TiBU Pro reported as installed. Shows in App mgr. No icon If uninstalled by phone or marked then reinstalled, same issue
2. Cannot format boot sector(partition?) Error Boot Formating (does it thru Rom Mgr, Clwks, and using GLD's total wipe procedure.
3. Can Ti BU Pro be run off the SD card, so that I would not have to go thru market to pick it up before doing anything else?, ie skip whole VRZ thing.
History
I have been having a lot of fun with Roms and themes. Installed Darkslide, couldn't get it working, next Rubix, worked ok, but never could get themes working over it, so I decided to SBF back to stock to clean out whatever was left over. Got back to working fine stock. Decided to try Liberty. Worked well as Rom but I liked Rubix Foc 2.0 better. Picked up Rom Man at this point(had been working thru bootstraper x rooted with command line procedure) Also, forgot, when I rooted 2nd time after SBF, I tried Do root a couple of times. Didn't feel comfortable with that "keep doing it til it works" mentality, so switched to Z4 Root . Worked flawlessly. Put Rubix back on phone but Liberty splas comes up before the rotating cube which does come up.
Thanks for your help Haven't found any of these issues addressed in any of the Droid forums, but Droid stuff is REALLY scattered, so if you could point me in the right direction if it is old hat I would appreciate it.

Some Rooting & ROM Questions

Hi,
I've recently used Unrevoke and rooted my phone. I've tried Cyanogen and Ginger Villain, but had a problem with partitioning my SD card, so I'm in limbo at the moment.
However, the partitioning seems to be sorted out, so I'm ready for a final ROM flash and then I can leave it alone. Fingers crossed.
1. Once I've used Unrevoke, do I need to use it again or is it always rooted now? I suspect it is.
2. In the future, if I change ROMs, is it simply a case of backing up, resetting to factory, flashing the ROM and restoring?
3. I have Cyanogen on at the moment, and I love the ADW launcher as it keeps three apps permanently on whatever screen you're on. However, it doesn't support A2SD+ so I'm looking for a Gingerbread ROM with A2SD and ASDW launcher or similar?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks and apologies if this information is obvious, but I wasn't able to find it out there.
