"Failed to move application, There is not enough storage left" - T-Mobile LG G2x

Tried to move some things to SD and this comes up for everything I try. Problem is it shows 3gb (out of 5.44gb) of space left on internal storage.
Stock, Rooted, 16gb card (I know that dosen' matter)
Color me confused any suggestions?

I actually had that happen too, it was right after I did nvflash.. It showed that my phone was 100% full. Attempted to delete music files and it told me that they were system files.. wtf?
I ended up deleting all my music and it fixed it.. Twas quite odd indeed.

Free Space not changed after file erase

I had moved a large number of files to the Internal SD card to be able to more quickly move from different version of installs to test setups. I got the tablet like I would like to have it for now, I got a low memory message on the internal card, I deleted the large folder that housed my setups and it did not change the amount of free space on the SD card.
I think that I have solved this, It appeared that the market was stuck in a loop. I canceled all of the downloads, rebooted with the wifi off.
Once I got rebooted and stable, I checked the status of the storage from setting and it was reading correctly again, turned back on wifi. Went back to market, installed one app at a time. All appears to be working ok.

[Q] How to properly free space on SD card?

I have an HTC Evo with with a custom rom (CM7 7.0.2). My SD Card became full, so I figured I would delete some nandroid backups. I went ahead and did this (deleted a couple gigs worth). After doing that, my disk usage didn't seem to change - I still had a full SD card. After tinkering and cleaning some more, I still was showing a full SD card. I went ahead and partitioned. After that it still seems as though when I delete things to free up space, my disk usage stats still remain the same. Am I missing something?
Connect phone to computer with usb cable, set mount as disk drive, erase what u don't need, empty recycle bin.
Also try to mount and unmount sdcard to check free space.
LaD
You may need to reboot to get new info. Are you checking in Settings?

I went ahead and partitioned my SD card. This fixed the problem. Thanks for suggestions.
yeah.. i agree
Stiill happening...
I originally posted this thread about 5-6 months ago. After some time has passed by, I am having the same issue again... If I delete items from my SD card, it does not register the freed space. I can reboot, remount, etc. and whether I go to Settings or Titanium or Computer, it shows the same amount of storage being used. The weird part is that my SD card only has a gig on it (not 5). The only way to fix this is to partition... This is really irritating. Any thoughts?
EDIT: Okay, I went ahead and emptied the trash and everything seems to be fine.
You can also try SD Maid to free up space.
I don't know how it works on android, but when you remove stuff in GNU/Linux/unices it can take a minute or two to once again get registered as available storage.
Then just to rule out the obvious, you mentioned that you partitioned the drive, are you sure you are looking at the right drive for the available space? I would recommend going to a terminal and delete the stuff you want gone and then use the df command to see available space. I think it's in BusyBox I am not sure though but it should be. Good luck

[Q] Sensation erased all data on SD upon update

Title says it all. I was prompted for an update on my phone. All data was erased on the card, i believe. Since my contacts are still intact. As well as the apps i've downloaded.
Why in the HELL did this happen?
I'm sure the question of getting my data back is out of the equation. Oh well... at least i can ask the former question.
What the hell happened?
Are you rooted or was this a ota update? All I can think of its possibly a faculty SD card. Was there any option to format SD card or was it a straight over the air update ? Seems like the SD was bad. Perhaps get another ad card to prevent this happening in the future. This is a guess. Very strange indeed. Never heard of this happening with a ota update. Best wishes.

Did you check the space remaining on your memory card? Maybe it's just a reading error after you updated.
Perhaps you want to manually mount your sd from the settings
Swyped From My Sensation.
Mount manually? ...errrm. No need to. Also, i have no idea what "rooted" means. I saw a notification for an update, so i updated. Also, like i said, the data is gone. There's no music, photos. Nothing that i've saved myself on the SD card. Just the apps i've gotten that are on internal memory. This has become a huge question, more than anything. I'm curious as to what in the hell made this happen. Also, as for suggesting the purchase of a new SD card. That's funny. I'm in no position to spend money on something that came with my phone, and SHOULD be working. If anything, my service provider should do that for me. I didn't do anything to the card. I updated the phone, and everything that was on it got erased.
Dude maybe your sd card is unmounted and you need to manually mount it... go to settings > storage scroll down and find mount sd card..
Swyped From My Sensation.
It's BEEN mounted. Was never un-mounted. Phone updated, SD got erased.
UPDATE: Ok...I've explored the phone on my PC, and found a folder called DCIM (generic digital cam folder name), and all my pictures were there. But when i go to the gallery on the phone, they don't appear there... ?!
As for my music, haven't found it.
Also, there's a folder named "LOST.dir"
But it's empty.

Internal storage unmounted?

Well first of all hi to all, and thanks for taking the time of reviewing this,
I cant seem to find an answer anywhere so literally any information on the subject would be apreciated.
I own a ntt docomo fujitsu arrow s, The phone has been working flawlessly for so long
so much that i just never consider even doing a backup, now im literally facing hell
Well ill try to explain my problem also keep in mind im not really good with android, but i fix pcs so i get some stuff.
Okay ill start, one day my phone was working as ussualy and i went to the gallery as always and i had the external storage not available message,
so then i went to storage and it reflected that my internal storage was 0.0g.
So the thing is, apparently my data is still there, my apps are there, my wallpaper didnt switched, just like my ringtones, also if i go to
clean master and in settings-apps my apps and the storage i had before the incident was exact, as in i had 18g of used memory and it still reflects me that,
but certain apps like file explorer dont show anything , i literally dont have anything in my storage, idk what to think of this.
Also ill post some extra information because if anyone have any info i guess you will need more info from my side.
If i connect the phone to usb storage , it reflects me my internal storage is at 0.0g and nothing is inside.
Ive never rooted and never even tried.
I didnt install anything lately that may cause a hardware change.
The phone didnt fall, didnt got wet.
i think the sd card was in the internal storage, as an emulation, i thik idk much about that. (but i never used one, just the internal storage)
If i try to mount an sd it just doesnt happens the only thing i can do sd wise is erase all data in the sd
So basically now idk what to do, i wish i could keep my stuff, idk its still there, i guess the term for this is my storage unmounted, so using adb to mount it back would work?
idk i also did the putting it in tmp and disconecting it and nothing im literally going insane and have slept like 2 hours per day, so thanks for taking your time to atleast review my problem
also sorry for the bad formatting, english isnt my native language.

stock rom, app force close, storage full, signal lost

Hi, and sorry my english!
I got my new mi4i phone and I have some problem.
I get force close messages (media process) the phone lagging and I can't copy anything to the internal storage, it shows me 0 Mb free space. I try to make factory reset and it look like everythings ok. I have 26GB free space (32GB version) and very fast system. But after few minutes the space is less and less. It look like something writting to the storage and some minutes later is full.
I update to 7.0.3 but I have same problems. If I connect to the laptop I don't see the storage. (I try on Linux and windows.)
Does anyone from you know any solution?
just got mine but dont have your problem.
think you need to pay the seller a visit...
I tried to install a rom from fastboot but I get the same errors.. When I see the storage I get 26GB files on the internal storage/ramdump/. The file names are: ramdump_modem_"date"
If I delete this file after 20 minutes the system is recreat it.
Defective as for replacement
yup - sounds defective to me...
