Well first of, I came from Steve Jobs families since its release. As android getting alot of attention and community supports. I make the jump last year when Vibrant came out... boy that was a nightmare for my first android experience that's where XDA community came and help me out on Vibrant but at that time had no experience in android period so i return Vibrant and opted for HTC Glacier. And it's only release in US. Basicly im just stoke about Sensation releasing world wide. That means more development just like HD, HD2 etc.

[Resolved] Q. Android to take over the world?

Rumor has it that Q4 and 2012 have some major mind blowing things from android. Everywhere you will see android, anybody heard of this?

Wouldn't doubt it. Android is doing so good right now. To think it all started with one phone the HTC g1 and has expanded ever since

I just wish that phone companies will distribute rooted phones. Or involve the community more.

Yes, I heard something like that too........ But we will just have to wait and see....
It might all depend on what new offerings and features the iPhone will have at that time.......

Congrats on your new purchase.
I also hope you like fires, because i'm sure you're going to get flamed a bit.
Welcome to the forum.
As guy above mentioned, don't be put off by idiots posting idiotic comments, there are a lot of nice people here. And anyway, that thread can be used as INTRODUCTION THREAD.
I don't see why he'd be flamed for moving up in the phone world.
Hey , I posted in the general section. Lol. And I wasn't asking any questions without doing research.

Nope. Everyone has been saying they love it . Had one guy complain about battery life. That was pretty much it. Although he's kind of an idiot... Lol

Carrier IQ

Given all the controversy over the app, I'm surprised there isn't a thread (that I found, anyway) here about it already here.
So, the simple question is: is it on the stock Gingerbread ROM for T-Mobile?
I loaded up the rooted OTA and ran the check for CIQ. I didn't find anything, but there was some HTC logging software I think.
Yea... i'll go put my tin foil hat on.
T mobile does not use it, at least not officially stated.

The question is do 3rd party developers use it. Once a phone is rooted and the stock OS is ripped out it shouldn't matter what they use on OE Handsets. Don't like the idea of Big Brother watching you, either rid yourself of the problem by removing the OS with the app, or don't do things that are against the law.

I know that I am simply saying that if Samsung can get T-Mobile to get out the update why does it take HTC so long
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda app-developers app
Lol I believe HTC has quite a bit more to work with as far as the user interface goes for their Sense UI than Samsung does with TouchWiz.
It's going to take them longer to integrate Sense with JB.
Touchwiz has come a long way. I pretty sure sense is built for jb already, and I can understand op's request especially since the one s came out months before the gs iii iirc
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Ridiculous that the S3 got it before the one s, HTC is really laggin on this one
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
HTC has dropped the ball for a while now I'm amazed (no pun intended) that the amaze ever got an official ics honestly... And I'm shocked how Samsung has stepped up, back in my original sgs days I was pissed it took an extra 6 months+ for us to get a froyo (which was a very important update) than the HTC phones released around the same time.

And to rub salt in the wound, there's already a leak out of 4.1.2 for th S2

S4, Note II, or HTC One?

Hey guys,
So I had my Skyrocket now for some time (still love it), AT&T just came out with an offer where you can get pretty much any of their phones $199 and below for 50% off. So S4, Note2 and HTC One are only $100, not bad right?!?!
Now the question is if you guys could pick which one would you guys for and why? I like all 3, size is not an issue. Hope I could get some feedback to make a choice. Thanks.
Probably should have stuck this in the next phone thread but wouldn't the note2 be 150 since its 300? Unless it dropped in price. Personally tho, I'd say s4. I'm sure spitfire will stop in and say get the One because its the most amazing phone in the world . But really, go with what suits your needs. Or if you still dig the rocket and it does what you need, save your money.

HTC One
Design that never fails to excite me, kind of excitement that I get when buy a brand new phone.
Sent from my HTC One
Totally sorry, did not see the next phone thread.
The Note 2 is $199 on AT&T. So it will be $100. The only thing I really like about the Note 2 is the battery life.
So it's basically between the HTC One and S4.
I would be getting it as a bday gift, so I'm lucky in this situation.

I second vote for S4, coming from a rocket the transition will be almost non-existant
HTC one. Soon it will have the ge edition come out and you can flash that and have the best software on the best hardware.

Why not the S4 GE Edition? I'm looking to go from Skyrocket
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
If it's gonna be the same software, why would you go with plastic over aluminum? Plus ours will be cross-flashable with sense and vanilla and the s4 wont be.

Why would you want a 4 Megapixel camera that is no longer software optimized for it (by HTC's proprietary software)? That said, the S4 does feel pretty flimsy and fragile, in my limited experience with it.
Man, I called that.. Lol

HTC is gonna utilize the "ultrapixels" in the Google edition. Also it's gonna have beats.

At the end of the day Samsung's always have a better Dev following, how important that is is up to u.
I will again greatly endorse the S4, especially Dev edition if u can spring for it.
Yeah, I really like the HTC One A LOT! The only thing is that I know the Devs for Samsung are amazing, just look at our Skyrockets still being able to stick around with the S3/4. I dont know how the HTC One Devs will be, I havent really gone around their Forums yet.
However, I'm sure they have to be a few great Devs there working on it, esp with vanilla Android coming out for the HTC One coming out.
Thank you guys for your inputs, helped me think of some important factors that I missed out on.
The devs are great over there. They love the device and there is a nice selection of good roms over there.
