Battery drainage issue on the coredroid 5.4.
Before my coredroid didn't drain battery like a stock inspire rom. When my phone is on stand by mode, it would drain like normal inspire. When its being used, it drains even quicker.
I did a full wipe then flashes the full rom 5.4.. didn't change radio or anything else.
Anyone having this issue?

What you can do is charge the battery to 100%, then wipe battery stats in recovery. Also try juice defender, ultimate juice is worth the money. Post your results later

I too realize not much different from stock rom when using Coredroid 5.4. First was using GB version thought that's the reason, flashed with Froyo still notice the same. Probably gonna try different roms tonight. Besides, my notification light not flashing anymore during stand by mode, make my phone looks like turned off when screen is off.
Keep in mind that you might not have the best battery life with coredroid gingerbread, while therw have been some major tweaks, most of the extra battery life comes from roms with custom kernels. Kernels is where most of the battery tweaking happens. If you want good battery life your going to,have to stick with roms that have custom kernels ie. Cm7 builds, froyo builds, and miui builds.

While I can't comment on CoreDroid's battery useage - I can say that I noticed a significant difference between the stock Sense ROM and CM7. Take it for what it's worth but I was pleased.

I've been wondering what this does exactly - when wiping battery stats through Recovery? Is this necessary to do often (between flashes of different CM7 versions)? I've flashed twice since rooting - almost a month now. Should I do this next time I charge? Just curious...
i just did a 2nd full wipe and the battery results are the same...
Not trying to be mean...
But am i typing to blind people? Read what i said about kernels.

Anyone who has installed the Gingerbread rom on their Inspire, have you noticed any difference in battery life. This is supposedly the main benefit to the upgrade. I want to wipe the Bloat ware off my system, but not install a rom unless it makes a huge difference. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated...
I am running inspired ace which runs gingerbread and battery life is great.

Major increase by about 3 hours...set cpu to power save when screen off and run at 756 does amazing things.
Also lowering brightness and turning of network when not in use

I too started getting MUCH better battery life with gingerbread. Any non-stock Rom for that matter.
If you want the absolute best in battery life go with gingerbeast ROM...

+1 to inspired ace and much better battery life than stock.
Last time I went battery for awhile; See attached.
Granted 9 hours of that I was asleep as was the phone but the rest was me playing games, reading, downloading apps, browsing listening to music using stereo bluetooth.
Rom is in the Sig.
Gingerbeast does have awesome battery life. I reverted back to RCMix3D only cause I missed it, and I get about 10-18 hours out of my battery on that one.
+1 on the RCMix,, cant say its much longer,, but it is good for a 8 hr wrk day..
+1 for inspired ace rom - battery is great and so is the performance increase!

And it is amazing. I highly recommend this.
gingerbeast has been ridiculously awesome for me on battery life. with moderate to heavy use, i get 12-18 hours of use a day
I have used HoneySense and LeeDroid, I have found that LeeDroid's kernel MUCH better than both HoneySense and the stock when it comes to battery life. In the end, it all depends on what you want, when you want alot of bells and whistles on all the time, your battery life will suffer, if you are more minimalist, you battery life will be much better
So far I've been one of those 'bells and whistles' people, and even on VU1.27 which I assume is pretty efficient I only get 8-9hrs. Surprising the biggest user has been voice calls, which will suck the battery dry in 2-3hrs if you have a couple long conversations.

I have noticed once the Dialer is used, it seems to keep eating battery if I don't restart. I'm not sure if this is the ROM or android in general though...

Glad I'm not the only one. Just assumed it was a radio issue.
ok so i got my charge 2 days ago and am rooted with Gingerbread leak,
so i have some questions.
First: is there roms for gingerbread? because i couldn't find any.
Second: what kernels are there for GB? can i use PBJ?
Third: now ever since i got the phone it drains batter pretty quick with everything off. and hardly using it maybe about 20% per hour. i tried undervolting with Setcpu but wasn't successful, so what app do you guys recommend to undervolt the charge? or any guides to do so?
thanks,
Check out the development section. Gummy Charged GBE is great

I did, thanks for the reply. now i have voodoo and on the recovery sais enable 100mhv something like that. is that so i would get more battery?
You can't undervolt on gb because its a leak meaning no kernel source.
I think setcpu will let you underclock which would give better battery life but reduce performance considerably.

You need to return to stock, then fresh Odin GummyCharged GBE 1.9RC2.3 if you want Gingerbread as it's really the only modified Gingerbread rom. Eclipse is available, but i'm not sure if the dev still supports it or not. The quick battery drain is something that goes along with the fact Gingerbread is a leak. GummyCharged team has done a wonderful job with minimizing this drain. I have found it actually has better battery life than Froyo. That's just my personal experience.
I've run Cyanogen ROMS, Senseay, InsertCoin, and ARHD. I'm a pretty heavy user I would say, I get up at 6:00 in the morning, and my battery is usually dead by the afternoon if I don't charge it. To me the roms all seem the same as far as battery life is concerned. Anybody have input as to what roms have given you great battery life, any apps you have that help or what you do it improve battery life?
Thanks
Buy another battery? Im a heavy user and i get about 8/9 hrs. Lasts all day with moderate usage.

try miui! perfect battery life!
With light to moderate use on the newest ARHD ICS 5.0.2, I am still sitting on 55% battery life.. and i've been off the charger for 27 hours now using the anker 1900mAh battery. Make sure you match recommended radio's and rils.

Any numbers on the drainage while on standby? May flash a miui rom soon if battery is really that good.

Mind telling me which MIUM ROM version you're running? I've never run MIUI and from what I see there is only one am I right? Most recent version is 1.12.23. If I run that with kernal 1.6 I should have great battery life? I'm not doubting you I'm actually really interested to try this, just want to make sure I get the same configuration as you have to see if I can get similar results. Thanks for the reply.
Also I have the normal sensation 4G not the XE, I noticed the bricked kernel V1.6 says XE, is that problematic with my phone or should I use V1.5?
I must say that ICS4.0 gave me much metter batt.life! im using ARHD 4.0.2 and using stock battery. batterylife is now better then stock ROM (android 2.3.4)
really think you should give it a try. (new firmware will give it even better i think, havent tried)
Try to wipe battery stats.

I tried most of the Rom Energy is the best for sense Rom. For no sense use miui but make sure do not install any launcher use the launcher come with miui.
If u r keen on sense Rom then make sure you have minimum widget running on home screen they r battery draining, try juice defender from market. Turn off auto update. Live wall paper will drain more battery as well.

Should I use Hellfire or eb gb, I've heard that eb is better but hellfire's gb was updated more recently, and which suggested kernal to go with it. I understand that it all depends in your phone but what in.your experience / opinion is the best combo.

The rom I'm using right now is Eaglesblood build 2.8 which is GB 2.3.7. I get pretty decent battery life just using the kernal that is built into it normally. I was having a few problems with HFP 2.1 so I switched to this and haven't looked back. Even though it isn't the most recent I still feel like its the best, just my opinion though.
I have got the best battery life so far with Eagles blood GB as well. HFS v1.5 is giving me ok battery life but EGB gave me double time as this ROM

Try them out, read the threads to see common issues and things that work well. Stop asking everyone here to do that little bit of work for you.
XDA is not your personal slave, we should not, and will not spoon feed you. Look around, spend more then 2 minutes looking at the first post. If you put in a good effort, people will be willing to help you, but just constantly asking for which ROM is just lazy.
You did not answer the question of whether you put the phone in airplane mode, you have not said any of the ROMs you've tried (other than all of them, which I doubt). At least pretend to give a ****...
Search!!!! there are tons of threads on how to increase battery life
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk
? I don't think you give a **** because if you read my post you would of known that I'd have tried eb ics and gb, and hellfire ics and gb rom, and i've actually spent hours reading pages in the roms topic and other places, and I forgot to answer that question, my answer is no I don't even have a simcard in the phone for it to be searching for service and enabling it would stop wifi which is what I do use.
You can put the phone into Airplane mode and then enable WiFi. Even though you don't have a Sim install it can still try to search for a network and drain the battery. It will need a network without a Sim to be able to call 911 if needed.

I don't think its necessarily the stock kernal. It's the one that is built in to Eaglesblood GB. Also try to follow this guide, it seemed to help my battery life. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054420 I did get around 30 hours on that charge but it varies quite a bit depending on usage. I always get a full day of moderate use though. Try switching to Eaglesblood GB and follow that guide to 20 hour battery life and see if it helps. If not, your battery could just be old/bad. Hope this helps!
Yeah i tried the eaglesblood rom and wasn't too impressed. Im sure that it was good for performance, however i immediately missed the customization with cm7 (adw launcher) and the themes that came with it. after i have flashed the faux123 kernel on here with cm7, im happy to say my battery life is incredible. i fished all day yesterday and listened to music while texting a bit and making a few phone calls. was out for about 10 hours and had only used 40% of my battery. so for anyone looking for a good cm7 kernel, the faux has been the best i have found yet

Of course rooting for battery is a good idea. Undervolted & underclocked kernels, delete bloatware that's constantly running, etc. And as far as best battery life, baked has been very kind to my phone.
A typical day for me (7am on phone for 2-3 hours reading the news before work, music to/from work, light usage on breaks, then hotspot at home for internet, and all the calls/texts in between and countless downloads) will leave me with 20-30% battery when I go to bed around midnight
