Weather Widget - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

The Asus Weather Widget included with the Transformer is visually very beautiful, but (at least, for me) wildly inaccurate.
AccuWeather.com (the service behind the widget) isn't that "accurate" when it comes to Italy, and while the weather conditions are usually OK, the temperatures are off by 7-10 degrees (or even more).
Is there any other weather widget with comparable good-looking graphics, but based on another service (Google, etc.)?
The alternative ones I tried do work, but they've been created with a cellphone in mind, not a tablet, and so they are pretty small...

Beautiful widgets has a SuperClock Tablet widget in their package, that offers alot of skins for weather and the clock portion, etc.

Beautiful Widgets - Weather

Having a small issue with the temperature shown by the weather portions of beautiful widgets.
The temp being shown seems to be WAY off -fairly sure it's NOT -6 outside at the moment
I've compared to the "news and weather" widget and that's pulling through temps which look a LOT more realistic.
Is anyone else seeing this issue? Which feed does beautiful use (for a quick comparison)
Thanks in advance.

it depends on where the widget gets the data from (which station). beautiful widget & the weather channel almost always differ by a few degrees, in the city where i live, there are noticeable differences between the east (close to the ocean) and the west side (inner land) and those differences are noticeable in bw or weather channel too...
We're talking a difference of ~ 6 degree's at the moment. While I'd understand a deg here or there difference, when it's consitently out like that something doesn't seem quite right.
In addition it's not just the current temp which seems to differ its the max/min as well.
Turning off Geolocation and forcing a location seems to "fix" the problem. It's now displaying the correct weather.
Location/GPS seems to be working fine via google maps and other such apps, so seems a bit wierd!
Fixing location is ok for now, but it's always nice to have the geolocation working for any excursions!
go into setting in Beautiful widget and uncheck Celsius Temperature.

why does that solve the problem?
the difference between Fahrenheit & Celsius is not 6 degrees

Weather forecast widget

Does anyone know where I can find a widget that is basically identical to the Weather Forecast one in the ManUP456's REVOlution theme, but gets its data from somewhere more reliable.
I love the way that it looks. It fits my home screen perfectly.
The problem is with the data itself. For instance, the app says that yr.no says that the temperature is going to be 80° here tomorrow, but the Weather Channel forecasts a temperature of 96° (definitely more like it).
I'm not sure if it's a problem with incorrect data, an inaccurate conversion from Celsius to Fahrenheit, or what.
There really isn't much point in a weather forecast if it's horribly inaccurate, though.
Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks, guys.

Sure its exactly the name of your thread title. Search the market for "Weather Forecast Widget" its much much more reliable and looks good as well.
That is the widget in Manup's theme. I also use it but find the data to be less than accurate.
I downloaded the "Weather Forecast Widget" by Francois DESLANDES from the market.
I like it so far. It doesn't have the 7 day forecast like yr.no's, but the four day forecast shows up instead.
Here is my quick review:
Widget sizes include the following:
1x1
2x1 full day
2x1
2x2
4x1
4x2 *
4x3 *
4x4 *
* includes forecast and calendar
The weather can be aggregated from Google or NOAA (much more accurate than yr.no).
With the paid version, you can choose from 17 different icon sets and 27 backgrounds.
I tend to prefer the HTC icon set (someone derived the HTC weather icons from the weather app so they could be used here).
The widget sizes that includes the calendar has current conditions or today's forecast (your choice) at the top and the forecast for the next two days below it with each day's events listed below its respective day. (A tap will take you to the calendar app of your choosing)
This is a great widget set for my purposes. It is incredibly customizable.
If you're looking around for a good weather widget, try the free app. If you're like me and need more visual customization, go for the paid app key.
Here is the AppBrain Link for all interested: http://www.appbrain.com/app/org.koxx.forecast_weather.v2
Thanks, guys.
Agreed. Great looking widget, but completely inaccurate data. When I finally got it to acknowledge that I'm in Tampa and not Jacksonville, temps were still way off.

That is odd. In my case, the location is spot on and the temperatures mirror the NOAA website perfectly.
In lieu of funcrusher's experience, results may vary.
I'd still recommend it though.
My bad, I was referring to the one in manup's theme.
Trying Weather Forecast Widget now.

Haha. I probably should have figured that out. Oh well, a full day of classes has me a little slow at this point.
its nice. too bad you cant skin the free version. some Buff icons would be nice.
Without a doubt the best is Snowstorm. For some reason it's very hard to find in the market as it doesn't appear under "weather widgets" search, but it works fantastically. Also the first reply for "Weather Forecast Widget" is decent advice. It's great as well.

Snowstorm seems useful, but I tend to like how weather widgets displays both the high and low for each day. I haven't spent much time with it, so I'm not exactly sure if there is a way to do what I'm talking about.
I do like the forecast screen on snowstorm much more than weather widgets, but there are trade offs.

I really wish that HTC had a 4x2 or 4x3 weather widget

Wouldn't it be nice if HTC had a weather widget that was 4x2 or 4x3? I hate that they have 3 sizes, one thats huge and dislays all of the information, and a 2x2 and 2x1 that both only display current temp, high/low, and a picture, I mean the 2x2 should AT LEAST display a little bit more information than the 2x1 right?! Anyway anybody know of a modded HTC weather widget like this? hehe
just download Beautiful Weather and Palmary or Snowstorm... There are quite a few great weather apps out there.
I love Snowstorm, but the GPS is sketchy and not always that accurate, and doesn't beautiful widgets have a clock on all of theirs too?
Beautiful widgets has several different styles of widgets. The one I use is 4x1 and displays a 5 day forecast with high/low temps.
Its pretty nice. Lots of different skins.
Heres a screen shot

Oh, nice. What weather source does beautiful widgets use? Does it seem to be reliable and accurate?
You can use google or some other one, which I cant remember. Seems to be pretty accurate. Sometimes, it shows me in the next city, but the borders are pretty close.
You can choose between Google and Accuweather.
It's always seemed pretty accurate for me and it's easy to skin yourself or grab quite a few skins from within the app.
Well worth the couple bucks.
try this Animated Weather for Android - Weather forecast application. The exquisitely realistic video effects of cloudiness, rain and snow provide the vivid sensation of current or future weather conditions for more than 50000 locations over the world.

Is there any weather app like this?

Hi,
Do you know any weather app that does not have running service?
Yes, weather forecast app that can pull data "manually" ...
No need periodic / interval update ...
Widget is not necessary either ...
Moved to Q&A BW, Fancy widget, and even the default news and weather app has this I believe
Most have these "features" and I don't really like that either. I've noticed that most of them will let you change the frequency that they pull info. Some down to 12 hours.
Fancy widget has lots of refresh options. One of them being to only refresh weather manually.
Thanks for all the suggestions. At the end, I ended up with (again) Beautiful Widget 1x1 (I already bought this when I use HTC Desire).
The reason that I want to find this kind of weather app, because I want to limit the number of running (background) services.
So, I replaced the Beautiful Widget Home widget with "simiClock" because it is simple, elegant and uses black background (save battery life).
simiClock has weather info as well ... But it does not have forecast.
That's why I was looking for weather app which can be activated (launched) when I press the simiClock weather.
But, it seems I cannot find one ... The one with update/interval can be controlled (I am not weather obsessive guy, so manual update is the best for me).
At the end, I am back with Beautiful widget weather 1x1 ... until I found a nice weather forecast app to launch from simiClock
I purchased the Weatherbug Elite. It has the options to turn off the background processing and only grab weather data when you run the app.
it's unfortunate, but i'm running into the same situation
i want to disable the back ground processing of the weather app that i like, but the app doesn't have such a feature/option
the app is supplied directly from The Weather Network, and it's very accurate, all the other apps that i've tried before are not so great
Try WeatherPro, best weather app imo
try Fancy widget... you'll love it! great app
Moxier World is by far the best I've found.
It updates either automatically or manually.
It also shows local time and weather in as many world locations as you need. It has 5 days forecast for each.

yes, it is nice, it's what i'm using
Try this out. It has an option to set update interval (or disable update entirely)

Best weather apps/widgets?

What are the best Weather apps or widgets, of any variety and quickly why?
If the app costs $, be sure to say so!
I'm compiling a list of threads that will help people find the best apps/widgets of each category. Will recompile when done so your help is greatly appreciated!
Looks like Beautiful Widgets will take the win here, but I'm sure many will want another app/widget that's free.
weather bug--free
For Weather you are spoilt for choice.
Besides what has already been mentioned there's:-
eWeather HD Widget & Barometer ~ £1.85
Palmary Weather Pro ~ £1.85
Weather Pro ~ £2.13
Go Weather ~ Free
...... and many, many others which I will leave for someone else to add to.
i used optimus x2 weather widget..
its called today briefing..
I'm by no means well-versed in weather apps as I'm only starting to play with them, but these are my observations so far. Accuweather has nice icons that I like but keeps force closing on me. Hope that will be fixed soon. Genie news and weather is good too, you can choose to display just weather.
Beautiful Widgets is my choice. Fully customizable with downloadable skins for Clock, Weather, Battery widget, and Toggle Widgets.
Press the weather area and it will launch your choice of Weather App *I use WeatherBug Paid (I try to support if its a mainstay)* the Radar can be slow though but it works..
Press the Time spot and will launch you choice of Clock or Alarm. *I use Gentle Alarm*
Press the Date area and will launch your choice of Calendar. *I use Jorte*
All of that is customizable. For instance if you wanted to you could config it to launch Angry Birds on press of any of above or any other app or shortcut of your choosing.
I love the Animated Weather effects. though last week during Snowpocylpse here is Chicago area I thought the drifting was a bit overkill... LOL
