Location Of Rom Manager Back-ups - General Questions and Answers

A couple of months ago i had my original software on my htc desire and i made a back up of the whole sd card. I accidentaly "ruined" my phone and had to flash a rom. I flashed dj droid. I am preparing for the gingerbread update and i am hoping i can get the OTA update by going back to my original software. I deleted the back ups like an idiot and i was wonder what the location of them is on the SD card. Is it just sd, clockworkmod, backup? I don't have any files in this folder and am hoping this is not the case.

I'm sorry but that's correct.

Is there anything that i need to do to change my microSD card?

I currently am using the 8gb microSD card that was included with my phone. I recently bought a 32gb card and I'm not sure if there's anything special I have to do. My phone is rooted, in case that matters. Anyway, i was planning on just copying the contents from the old sd card to my computer and then copying them to the new one. Is that okay? Will all my apps and stuff work the same?

Format it from the phone after you copy all the data or format it in your computer

[Q] Removing "Lookout" bloatware

Hey guys,
I just received my Sensation 4G a few days ago, as a warranty replacement for my HTC G2. I have enjoyed the phone, but now I want a little better performance. I am currently rooted(perma) with S-OFF. (used Revolutionary). Stock 2.3.4 ROM
I have removed the TMO crap (mall, apps, telenav, teeter, Slacker, Qik, etc). I downloaded ROOT Browser from the market, went to SYSTEM/APP and selected Lookout, then Delete. Same process I did for every other app/bloatware I removed. But Lookout is still showing in my app drawer. Any ideas on what im missing?
Thanks everyone
Hmmm I have yet to see this added on my phone or a Rom idk

Turns out some of the app icons are still in my drawer. Nova is gone , but slacker is still there. Weird

Maybe your phone was reset vs ruu at HTC or wherever they refreb them
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
It came brand new. In box, sealed, headphones etc etc. Very very unlikely its a refurb.
Not sure why some bloat deletes and some doesn't

Check out /data/app and see if it is in there too

Hmmm idk lol but that's a third party app all I know ruu with one I posted and format sdcard

I suggest using RootExplorer or ES File Explorer (in root mode). Go to the top level directory (where you see /System, /Data, /SDCard, etc and touch the search button. Type lookout and see what the search comes up with. It should help you find it.
If 'Lookout' Had been granted Device Administrator then it cannot be uninstalled from the phone until this option is unchecked. Or a factory reset in recovery.
This could maybe be the issue ??
Lookout did not have administrator privilege.
I restored a backup of my original software. So everything is back to stock (rooted w/ S-Off).
So how can I remove bloat WITHOUT using a BAT or adb commands ?
I assume I can use RootExplorer , go to /System/App and select said bloatware and then select Uninstall.
Is there an official list of safe bloatware to remove? (Nova, teeter, tmo mall, qik, etc etc)
Many thanks !

I would suggest using a custom ROM like Android Revolution HD...they already removed the bloatware in their ROMs and stripped it down to just essentials. It is still using the Sense framework too, so you know it has good compatibility with your device...otherwise, copy down the list of files in your /system/app directory, post it here, and I will tell you what you can safely get rid of.
Just remember that, if you decide to flash the android 4/ICS version of Android Revolution, you MUST have SuperCID and flashed updated ICS firmware or it will NOT boot
You could try ROM cleaner it's in the themes and apps section.

Thanks guy's, I guess I will just use ROMcleaner. I'm not flashing any custom ROMs until the official TMO ics update comes out.
Thanks again

Hi,
Your nandroid backups are stored in sdcard/clockworkmod/backups.
Go into recovery/backup and restore ,and press restore when you want to restore.
O.k. so once I backed it up I can now instal my new Rom/and then whenever I want to reinstall the old Rom I then just hot restore and it goes on my sd card then I can reinstall it?so now do I do a full wipe minus the sd card. Please explain.

Hi,
Yes.
Once you have backed up,you can run a SuperWipe, which cleans the phone and prepares it for a new ROM.
The sd card is untouched.
Thank you very much. Takecare!!!

Hey inorder for me to see my backed up roms I need to restore them first correct then they will be viewable in sd card and on file folder?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
no, restore is a option to restore device to previous state. Say you don't want the new rom you just installed, you can wipe then restore to your backup.

O.k. so if I wanted to I could run a couple different roms then just do s full wipe and then hit restore and get my original 1st Rom put back on my phone.

Where i can find my sensation nandroid backup?

my htc sensation is running on android 4.0 hboot 1.27 !
i accidentally format my sd and i cant get back my htc running is at the tmobile logo somebody help me ?
Unfortunately I do believe that nandroid backups are kept in the cwm folder on your sdcard. If you formatted the card I am almost positive they are lost.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
i lost it! buddy :crying:
Now you could always reflash your rom if you have the files on your computer and the computer had a card reader.

[Q] Music and Images not

Hi guys, :victory:
I have a HTC Sensation Rooted, CM10 by Bruce2728.
I love this ROM, but my Music and Images are not showing up in Music or Gallery app. When I use a file explorer, they DO show up.
On every ROM I go I get this problem, and it's now really pissing me off.
There is only ONE ROM THE PROBLEM IS GONE: HyperNonSense v3.x
That ROM IS showing me my images and music in the apps, properly.
I also Tried like 6 SD card I have at home, 1x 2GB, 2x 4GB , 2x 8GB and 1x 16 GB. All not working on other ROMs.
Please help me, I have absolutely no clue what to do
Greetings from Holland,
Niels97Oet
Title has to be: Music and Images not showing up. Please fix, somebody
Many ppl fixed dis by formating sd card
Backups--- format--- restore
Or
Unmount sd and again mount

Delete all .nomedia files from the sdcard and then reboot.. Give it five minutes the stuff will show up
To find those .nomedia files if using es explorer.. Go to settings--File settings-- Show hidden files
Then search for .nomedia in search bar (it will take some time but gives you the results) Once results shows.. Select all of them and delete them
Then reboot wait for 5 minutes.. Then the music and gallery should be shown

I'm at a point of breaking my full HTC guys, because I'm MADDD !!!
May be there is one or more corrupted files on the sd card. Can you try with a new formatted card in which you put only one folder with only one picture?
