Has anyone found a way of fixing the problem of not being able to send pictures via mms while using OMFGB rom? I have the same problem when using all cyanogen roms too. (kernel for OMFGB is by slayher , of cyanogen) I have tried to use different kernels but that hasn't helped. I have no problem when I switch back to the stock rom. I really like everything else about OMFGB and Cyanogen but this problem really frustrates me! Thanks for any and all help!!
I have working mms on metropcs with omfgb. But I can't post it because it seems to think I'm posting a link. Anyway a mod could look at my reply and approve it or tell me how to post it?
recently ive upgraded my captivate to 2.3.4 via the andriod advices website. Also installed voodoo kernel through the same web page. All in all its 5x faster, no laggy issues anymore, but its got a few annoying problems now.
For one during phone calls i cannot hear anybody talk unless the speaker is on
two the auto rotate is screwed, even after calibration its just not working
three andriod phone keeps having freezing issues and making me force close
any help or point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Seeing that there is no official 2.3.4 for the captivate, they have to be tinkered with to make work properly. If you don't have the tools and knowledge to do so, there are several roms here using 2.3.4 that have already been reworked for you. The dev section has several.
Just installed Darkys 10.2 final and Darkys 10.2 resurection...aside from getting a cool rom it fixed 0 of my problems

You problem is that your using roms/kernels designed for a different phone. If it doesn't say it is for the Cappy, then don't use it.
You need to go to the development section and find a rom from there.

Hi guys,
I decided I want to flash an ICS rom to my nexus S.
Question I have though, is what will work for my phone, which is a 9020A (AT&T) and what rom would give me the closest to stock ICS like what OTA ICS would be?
I was thinking cyanogenmod 9 but I have used CM7 and remembered it being sort of a hassle...
I really want the facial unlock feature if possible. I don't know if it's native in ics or what but I want that.
Tell me why you think the rom you suggest is best, please. I want to know what the pros and cons to it are. And links would be really nice!
Thanks!
stock ics
I'm happy with the stock 4.0.3, I tested Peter Alfonso nightlies lately but I was annoyed by his adjusted auto brightness however it seems to be very popular and smooth and fast.
Stock runs great on my i9023 and there are no killer features in any stock like rom yet imho. But I'm using a custom kernel which is imho always better than the stock kernel.
edit: face unlock is useless since it recognizes nothing and is less secure than a pin or a pattern
Im using the same model phone as you are and running cybergr ics v3. Its by far the best rom so far.. try it, he has alot of extra features.. daily rom. In a couple of days v4 is coming out.
I just flashed revolution HD 4.2.3 this morning with speedy 4 kernel and this is definitely the best combination I've used so far.

I still use the DrewGaren ROMS, they are plenty fast and stable, along with the latest Glados Kernel They seem to give me the best results.
Stand corrected. cybergr ics v3 is a really fast ROM, probably the fastest i've ever seen my phone, just need to update it to v2.8 Glados
Face Unlock is a cool feature. Unfortunately, our front camera is too bad to properly recognize faces. If you get lucky - in good light - you might be able to unlock it, but it really is no fun at all.

I would love stock ics, but I can't get it for my 9020A... unless you know of a method?

Looks promising. I will try that if I can't find a way to get stock ICS on the 9020A...
Might even try it anyways. Thanks!
Hey please let us know if you do it! I am new to all this rom rooted thing and need to know which rom will work with my i9020a since I am a bit of a rookie!

Works great. No radio flash needed. Install went smooth aside from a few derps on my part. Rom seems a bit laggy but I think it's just because it's reinstalling everything. other times it's blown me away by how fast it is. Face unlock works pretty well. love the interface. I can't believe it's android, its awesome!
I've tested almost every ICS rom's available and right now KANGY6 with MATRIX v14.5 CFS it's the best combo for me.
i'm getting 3000+ on Quadrant with 1.46Ghz OC
You may try the CYBERGR ROM it's also very stable and fast.

ok, I dun goofed. I think I restored a system app on accident thinking that it would restore my messages or something... but my mobile data quit working when i restored that stuff (multiple restores, but thought i was just restoring user apps not system). any idea how to fix the mobile data without re-flashing?
Edit: Fixed, but lost my conversations in my messaging. Oh well. At least the android gods love me again. Anyways this rom is great, it works perfectly! So smooth!
I know this is a somewhat known issue, and I've found fixes of loading a sense based rom, getting a GPS fix then reloading a backup, but I'm not having any luck that way.
I've tried loading a Sense 2 and 3 based ROM (Infected and BAMF). I was never able to get a fix using BAMF, Infected I got a GPS fix without issues.
Anyone have a better method? Should I keep trying with a Sense 3 based ROM?
This is the only issue I'm having (at least that I notice/will ever use).
Thunderbolt CyanogenMOD 7.1.1 (I've tried the 7.2 beta rom that's out there too).
I flashed ThunderShed v1.1 (which actually looks like a pretty solid ROM if you don't want AOSP look/feel).
Back in CyanogenMod 7.1.1 and GPS is working!
Hello!
I flashed CM9 RC2 recently and now whatsapp doesn't work. I get warning after installing it saying that custom rom might cause whatsapp not to work properly. After starting whatsapp it simply closes down.
Before CM9 RC2 i used HyperSensation Rom (2.9 i think), and it worked normally without any problems.
Is there anything i can do to get this to work besides reflashing ROM?
Thank you.
Delete the data of the app.. Un-install it and install it again that might help

Tried that several times. Problem still persists.
EDIT: Just to report. Eventually i installed latest AOKP rom from their site (Milestone 6), and it works fine now.
ive had this same problem. I am usuing the CM9 RC2 right from the cyanogen mod website for samsung captivate ATT. if i install the AOKP rom you think it will work. and if i do whats the difference between AOKP build 40 and milestone 6.
edit: ok i installed milestone 6 and still did not work. what the hell

AOKP builds marked with number (for example: build 40) are something like beta builds and are more likely to have bugs. Milestone builds are more stable releases.
Regarding problem with whatsapp. Seriously i dont know why is this happening. I tried searching net and found couple guys with same problem but nobody offered solution. As i said in my first post, i used hypersensation which was build on one of earlier CM9 releases and it worked fine. So i would suggest to try some earlier releases of AOKP or CM9 or some rom from XDA based on them.
could you please provide me with a link to the rom you used. i will try that one
Here is hypersensation. However i used 2.9 version based on CM9, current version is 3.1. Download is in post 2. In post 3 you can find AOKP roms, but i haven't tried these.
I am using a samsung Captivate. will this rom work for me
My guess is no. You should probably go to Samsung Captivate forum and check there. I don't know anything about Captivate.
