[Q] 3 cirlces in upper left hand corner - T-Mobile LG G2x

Hey guys does anybody know what the 3 circles are in the upper left hand corner of the phone, I was hoping for an LED but I know that's out of the question. One has to be the light sensor, but what are the other 2 for?

The second one is the proximity sensor and I don't know about the third one.

One could be the light sensor.

The third one is the government probe that watches/listens to your every move.

Disable softkey backlighting?

Is it possible to disable the backlight for the soft keys?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
I'm pretty sure there isn't a way but don't quote me on that. My logic is because it seems the backlit keys use the screen light to actually become backlit they aren't like a separate area really.
I think they are on a separate sensor. In CM7 they would be off a lot of the time.

Yes they can be disabled.

You can try the LEDS hack (root) from the market.. I know it works on the inc, haven't tried it on the thunderbolt though I know it's not listed as "supported".. worth a shot
Could you point me in the direction I need to go?

Leds hack is a no go. Thanks though.

There are two LEDs at the bottom of the phone that light the keys. I accidentally covered them up when replacing my LCD so I have no backlight for the keys now and...I kinda like it! They aren't bleeding into the screen now too.

They can be disabled in the kernel.
You can disable them.by editing the framework also =)
App called "screen filter" has the option for it. Only lasts as long as its open though(runs in background, open in notifications). But it does work.

Ughh I've been trying to get this working for a week and no luck. Anyone have a good solid solution to disable the backlight?

Disable softkey backlight

Is there anyway to disable the softkey backlights? I've tried LEDs Hack and Screen Filter and neither work.

Very helpful. I know there's a way to do it even if no one's thought of it yet. If I have to I'll just desolder the LEDs and bridge the spaces. I'd rather do it with software though.
Or just like get electrical tape and cover it up itll still work

a little crude, but might work. I suppose I could trim it with an exact-o knife.
Its what I used to do, but I got over it so I just used a privacy guard screen protector and its kinda blocks it out too

it's a bit of a leap but there's film you can get to cover automotive lights. Maybe a clean rectangle or appropriate shape cut out can at least dim them some and be more durable and cleaner looking than tape. Heck... window tinting material might work. Although I don't know what these methods would do to any touch sensitivity. Ideally you would still see the lights, they would be dimmer and still function.

Blue spot on screen

The bottom right of my screen has a slight bluish tint. Is there any way to calibrate only that spot to fix it?

Have you tried smashing it with a hammer? I would try that first.

Camera won't focus?

So for some reason my camera is always blurry now and will never focus even when it says its focusing. I tried cleaning the lense, that's not the problem. Any ideas for help?

When the camera is on, shake it. Does it rattle? Then your aperture (or whatever its called) is broken.

Something always rattles inside the phone for me. This is coming from testing 4 droid charges, 1 of them CLNR.

Keyboard LED

I think it might just be my phone but everytime i use the physical keyboard in light the led on the keyboard doesnt turn on but when i use it in the dark they turn on. Has anyone notice this?
ERrr I think the light sensor controls that. Especially if you have it to set auto.
Sent from my XT897 using xda premium
Mine does that, think it is a power saving feature. Uses the sensor by the earpiece much the same way as the auto feature with screen brightness.

It is a feature of the phone. I work for the sprint store, and our rep tried to show us that like it was an actual selling point. If you put your thumb on the sensor between the speaker and the camera the light will come on.

Not to my knowledge, at least not on the stock rom. CM7 had settings you could adjust, I imagine when CM9 hits we will see the same.
:edit:
I stand corrected, thanks.

Wow never knew about that setting. It would be awsome if you were able to change the keyboard light to a different color
