Yes. Go into music player and select a song and look up at the controls . You will see DTS enable it and you will get a considerable boost in volume

My media volume is loud and clear.

Mine too. Much better than the G2 both connected and via Bluetooth.

Increase headphone volume

Mods please feel free to move / delete
is there a way to increase the headphone volume? I got to the audio service menu but I don't know which settings to change. I just got a new pair of Bose ae2 and they are extremely quiet. I tried another pair with the same issue. Maybe I'm deaf?
Thanks in advance!

I assume you mean beyond what's possible with the volume rocker, yes (I hope)?
Haha yes, that's correct.

PERFECT! Thanks a bunch!
I want to DECREASE the volume. When I listen to music and set it to the lowest setting, it's still too loud. Is there a way to do that?

THANKS! This is just what I needed to break in my new noise cancelling headphones!
I can't seem to find audioboost in the market?
I'm running congnition 2.3b8, does this have something to do with this issue?
There is an app called audio boost that works great. Its a paid app but almost doubled my sound output on my captivate. Well worth it, don't remember how much but worth the price. Your phone must be rooted on froyo or stock rooted or unrooted on 2.1

I can't find Audio in the Market either. What other options do I have to increase captivate volume.
My volume was much higher with Phoenix Rising ROM but not with Andromeda.
Strange nobody's talking about the voodoo control app.....u do need a voodoo or speedmod kernel for it.......voodoo has the option of increasing or decreasing the headphone gain....works like a charm!
I have problems with the sound when set on tv out mode. its gets quietier. Anyone know how to increase volume on the tv out mode?
You could click the thread in my signature and use the galaxy tuner app to adjust it louder or quieter, problem solved. It is also in the market for download. This works for the headphones and the phone speaker. This works with any kernel also.

Mine is loud as all get out. There's an EQ/Effects menu in there as well to get spacial effects and other cool stuff. I'm using CX300-II.
I'm using pandora too no problems here

Don't know how crazy loud you like your music but I can't turn the volume up all the way on my atrix without hurting my ears and I also love to blast my music.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
It's not that loud. Comparing it with nexus s and galaxy s running voodoo sound ...after using ns atrix sounds feels low..don't have that punch I like. But at least is better than most phones.

What kind of headphones are you using cause if I put it all the way up it hurts
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
haha i like ym music blaring so loud everyone else can hear it haha.... and the atrix jsut does not do that... i know my iphone 4 the volume was very very loud, and throw in the normalization tweak in itunes, songs where blasting and throw in good headphones and now your talking..... idk it just does not seem loud enough... i remember back in my HTC touch pro and htc touch HD days, there were apps that changed the volume etc, and even the iphone 4 had mods to change the volume... so hell im sure out device can prolly have something in the same sort!
and PS. the mod that moved this thread, you moved it into the worng phone bro... this is the atrix im talking bout not the inspire.

Boosting sound with/without root. (volume+)

so i read that the volume+ app will boost sound, it does work for me with the music app but my transformer is already really loud for music.
i want to boost the volume while watching movies as i have some mkvs and avis with very low volume, and volume+ does not seem to work for that through the speakers. haven't tested the headset.
i'm currently not rooted, but if possible i'd root to do this. I just want to be able to boost the volume while watching movies and then go back to normal when i'm doing anything else.
Any ideas?

thanks for the complete lack of help.
You asked for any thoughts. I pointed out an option that you haven't mentioned yet. There's only so much you can do to force the volume to go louder from a software point of view as well as the actual speakers themselves. Thus consider a hardware option of buying external speakers which not only allows you to have louder volume depending on which speakers you buy, as well as it allows you to go back to normal by unplugging them.

Volume+ helps on my phone but sadly did nothing for my TF speakers.

Volume+ worked fine for me on the Transformer. You do have to experiment with it a bit. On mine I would start a song playing then open V+, I would set the EQ and volume then hit "enable" and listen to the difference. Some EQ settings and volume settings actually made the sound quieter. For example boosting the volume over 12 made the volume much quieter. I can't remember which EQ setting had that effect but I think in the end I used 11 for the volume (it gets pretty loud and a little distorted if you turn it up all the way after this with the rocker switch, but i figured I could keep that lower anyway) and I used "good quality" for the EQ. Yes I am rooted running prime 1.7 and clemsons version4 kernel. Not sure if you will have the exact same results but hope this helps anyway.

[Q] Hi guys I wonder if You can help me about my music volume

Hi guys i have a question about
how i can my music volume higher ?
if there's an app or Some Zip files pleas give it to me and tell me the instructions to install it correctly
Thanks Guys for your time and your effort
Do what i did, find the app called earpiece in the play store. After you install it, open up a music player, play a song, crank up the volume and open earpiece app. Next.thick the audio trough earpiece box and see what happens. You should hear a huge difference and the sound isn't distorted. If nothing changes just click and un click it a few times untill you hear a difference. And also if that's not enough you can also thick the volume boost box but that, as far as I can tell makes your treble stronger and leaves out the bass. Anyways just try it and I can promise your volume will improve.
Btw this works great with the headphones, I haven't tried it on the speaker phone. So just try it out and tell me if it works

PowerAMP low volume vs Google play Music

So I installed PowerAMP on the Nexus 5. When I played a song stored on the phone, the volume was too low. I was able to hear it clearly only after maxing my phone volume.
I opened GooglePlay Music app and played the same song again. The difference is tremendous. Even with mid volume settings, I can hear the song clearly.
Is it just me or I am using PowerAMP in a wrong way?
Go into the EQ and disable "Equ, Tone & limit". Then you should have full sound again.
I'm on the nexus 4 at the minute but the behavior is exactly the same. As soon as you enable any of the 3 options the Max volume decreases hugely.

I disabled all three. Yes, there was a mild improvement, still nothing close to Google play.
Thanks any ways. Any other tips appreciated.
I am exactly facing the same issue due to which I m preferring google play music instead of poweramp. Is this due to how play music directly uses DSP rather than a software from poweramp? Can anyone enlighten please?

Try sliding the preamp slider up.

Thank god, I felt i was the only one having the problem.
I forgot the other options sorry.
Goto menu-settings-audio-advanced tweaks.
Disable direct audio control
Enable music fx
Now go back to the eq page and click the tone \ vol tab at the bottom.
Click music fx so that it's highlighted.
Hopefully that will solve your issue

Thanks these changes increased the volume loudness from speaker. I will check the tonality and quality from earphones and report.

By enabling the music fx it should be using the android DSP exactly the same as play music
