Having the same problems myself. I have the UK MX601 3G version and I can't find a boot.img that works with it! You can try yourself by holding volume down and power on when the device is off. You should see "Starting Fastboot protocol support". From there you can try flashing another boot.img onto it.
If anyone knows which boot.img etc. will work on the UK 3G versions please let me know!

yeah , i noticed exactly thai was doing the button config wrong for fastboot, i have a 500 £ paperweight, but its like i dont care ;P
I feel safe knowing the XDA community can help us lol, now im going to hunt down ths boot.img xd

Look for my post in this forum labelled Warning. Boot img in there.

JTAG for desire S - bricked my new desire S

hi friends,
i have just f*cked up my desire S!! pls help me out!!
i have done S-OFF with XTC - Clip and also ENG HBOOT,
i tested some coustom roms on my new device till now.
now i tell you what i did:
i had this rom on my device:
[ROM] 06-13-2011 SAGA LBC MOD v0.5.1 link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048203
then i wiped all data and cache over costum recovery (vers. 3.2.0.0)
after wiping i flashed this rom:
[ROM][Jun 14] Virtuous Unity 1.24.0 Sense 3.0 based on Pyramid link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122797
and rebooted my phone!
i also read that the recomanded radio for this rom is:
Recommended radio: 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2
but i downloaded the wrong radioimage - file and i flashed instead this one:
http://files.virtuousrom.com/vision/radio/Vision_RADIO_12.52.60.25_26.08.04.30_M3.img
i flashed the radiorom with fastboot ober adb - everything was OK but i took the wrong radio ROM so after reboot the device does NOT boot!!!!
AND i cant get to BOOTLOADER or recovery!!! USB is also bricked!!! my PC can not find my device ( ADB)
so i NEEED help pls help me out devs!!!
i don't think the desire s has JTAG. i could be mistaken though.
does the phone register as a usb device at all when you connect to usb and push the power button?
PUSH
@ all devs in here!!!
pls help me out if possible,
NO bootloader, no USB (ADB), no recovery, NOT booting --> is my device DEAD?!?
is there any chance to get back to life without any further hardware (JTEG - BOX)?!
nothing happens when i conect my desire s to my pc!
well to 99,9999% except if you are hardware developer and know how to write to the chip directly - yes it is dead
So, this means if you flash the wrong radioimage, it can kill your phone?

yes, i had bricked 1 year ago my htc magic with this
depends on the device, for example my old DHD recovered it's radio after i flashed a raido of the desire z, so it looks liek some devices got a protection against it
anyway, wondering why the desire s didn't has that protection when the dhd has, but can be duo locked down bootloader so they won't need it
i have to say i am surprised that flashing the wrong radio breaks it. the bootloader should remain unaffected by this and therefore still kick in and allow to flash a correct radio rom

I'm also very suprised but its a fact. Anyone know how to get it back to life? I read times ago about MYTTI I hope it the right name. Can this help me out.

I have always been told flashing the wrong radio will cause a brick. This thread seems to explain it for me. But whether this goes for every device I don't know.
Thanks for the link, L0cke.
But the initial question from the OP in that thread never got a precise answer...
"All I'm asking is to know exactly what is the real, down and dirty dynamics behind the radio flashing danger so I can be absolutely sure to avoid it in the future. I have yet to see a truly understandble explanation of this."
Can someone answer this in understandable words?
I actually never flashed a radio with my old Desire, even though I flashed roms like crazy and it always worked for me. I knew that flashing a radio is a critical process, so I thought unless something didn't work at all, I don't need to touch this radio stuff...
Over 600 views but no answer so far. I fear that I really ****ed up my new device.
If any dev knows a solution pls help. Remember I have S-OFF and ENG-hboot also.

if there is absolutley no life in it then its bricked and you cant do a thing anymore besides going to the store and tell them in the morning when you woke up it didnt turn on anymore.
ive done that with a samsung galaxy s 1 and i got a new one under warranty
if there is any sign of life then tell precise what kind of life there is in the phone then there mgiht be a chance of recovering it i think
i mean when you plug it in the ac will the charging light burn?
when you turn it on will there be any message on the screen?
if nothing is seen do you see the backlight of the screen turn on but dont display a thing

Adb doesnt recognize the phone you said.
Any idea about fastboot commands?
As it still turns on it should be able to do something.
Instead of booting bootloader could you try recovery with vol UP and power
What happens when you do that?
Edit: not sure if that whas the combo as it dont work on my dhd. Will try it tonight when i get home on my gf here desire s

Have you remove sdcard + sim and than Boot in bootloader?
Also you can try to install the radio Form a New formated sdcard.
Volume UP and power is the same only startscreen.

Help? qhsusb_dload When rooting Rogers 727R.

Well looks like I HARD Bricked my phone when I ran SuperOneClick v2.3.1 to Root my phone.. "its only 2 days old" the phone will not even power up now.. and when I plug it into my pc It just shows up as "qhsusb_dload" in my device manager.. rogers is going to send me a new phone overnight and I have to send back my bricked one.. do you think they will find out I was rooting the phone? they are just replace it as a power issue.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=631288&d=1308601930
See if these drivers will work for ya. If not, probably nothing you can do about it.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk
Yep tryed the drivers.. Odin will now see the phone but just sits a setting up connection... also the phone can been see with the battery in or out... Rogers is sending me a new one tomorrow or Monday.. .from what I seen there is no way for them to tell if I have rooted the phone or not since they will have to do a jtag flash.
They will probably just say it was a hardware failure of some sort. You should be fine.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk
well I got QPST to see my phone now I just need a hex file to flash to it... looks like its been wiped clean my phone... odin will not see it but qpst will.
Haven't played with qpst since I tried to "unlock" a cdma phone. What a joke that was. CDMA sucks so bad. Sorry for spamming your thread..

I saw your post in the dev thread that you got scolded for. Not sure if it's locked yet so I'm posting here.
I'm hard bricked as well, with a replacement on the way. I'd rather fix my phone if possible with QPST. Please report back if you're able to get that hex image or find another way to make the phone work again. (although I'd be looking for the AT&T image--not the Rogers version)
Thanks and good luck!
Yes I have been looking for both images AT&T and rogers but none to be found.. the good thing is if we hard brick our phones and it will not even power up. We can still access it with Qualcomm Product Support Tools (QPST).. Now I can't find an image but if someone would be nice enough to upload a hex image of their low level boot.. but then they have to know how to use qpst. and its not a very nice tool to use.

Can you link me to QPST? I've got a similar situation to yours.
By the way,
Does your phone do anything at all to indicate it's been plugged in?
Have you tried opening ADB to see if it is recognized there?
Ya the phone will not power on at all, nothing on the screen but when I plug it into the PC it sees Qhsusb_dload. in the Device mannager and QPST will see the phone.. but its stuck in a mode waiting to download a hex or bin file from Qpst.. but the phone will not power up at all. so ADB will not work.. the phone is stuck in a very low programming level.. here is a link to the software
http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/flash/mobile_phones/companies/qualcomm/models/qpst/12051.html
so what do we do now, my phone is bricked too :[
Does it power on?
Wow thats alot of bricks. Most ive ever seen in one forum. What did you all do. Try and flash something from a different device?
what i did was i'm trying to flash the rom from galaxy s2 tmobile with the conversion zip but it bootloop on me, so i went to odin, it gave me error failed, i make mistake at this step is that i took out the battery the download mode to goes away, which i should have press volume up or down to get out of the screen after i did some research but everything was to late, i only have the phone working for less than 24 hours

Tried to flash a "rom" I made in dsixda's Android Kitchen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1390903
I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions completely, not sure where I went wrong. Maybe trying to flash a 2.3.5 over Alien 4 (which is 2.3.6)?
At any rate, not blaming the kitchen. I probably did something I shouldn't have.
Got a replacement yesterday, so I'm good now with a hard lesson learned. First hard brick ever!
One more....
i was chatting with whats app and then the phone reboots and black screen....
the important thing is that a friend purchased the phone in Canada and i have no invoice and also no HTC service in México...
bad way to start the year.

you are right, i also can see my phone on QPST and it seems to be clean. I think we just need someone to backup their phone and boot image in hex to unbrick the phones....
Someone that want to help us to test this???

I wouldn't mind helping as it would possibly benefit me as well. I can't seem to get QPST to read my working 727. I can get it to recognize the device but it says "no phone".
If someone wants to point me in the right direction I'd be glad to help.

Stock Recovery?

well i recently put my phone back to stock because ive been having a problem with my phone so im getting a refurbished one from tmobile .
Anyways ive noticed whenever i go into recovery mode it shows the red triangle exclamation point. would this affect me negatively with tmobile? I dont want to be charged extra if it would expose me for rooting my phone.
if so Ive been looking for a stock recovery all over and could not find one. if anyone has it or happens to know a link i can go to get it i would greatly appreciate it since every link ive found is dead unless im just blind.

That means it can't find a recovery. But as far as Tmo goes.....very, very few of them even know how to get to the bootloader. With a stock ROM you should be just fine.
Oh! Alright thanks guys. I'm still kinda noob to this so I just wanted to make sure things were ok. preciate it
Yeah, thats 100% OK. Just make sure you locked again. Just flash back to stock via hboot.

[Q] Stuck in ''entering recovery...'' htc one s

What's up everybody! This is my first post here and I am what you would call a noob!
First of all I got tired of the 4.2.2 jb upgrade never coming to my htc one s and decided to give cyanogenmod 10.1 a shot (my first attempt ever tampering with mobile software)!
So I have unlocked the bootloader on my phone following a guide. It now says ''unlocked''
After that, I have tried to flash the paul recovery.img from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427 .
I have done it through adb with the command promt as it says on the article above!
The command promt apparently managed to do the job and it said ''finished'' as it should!
Then i rebooted the phone into recovery mode through the bootloader menu but it then stucks there doing nothing...I have left it for 5 minutes and it was still like that and i thought that the recovery wasn't succesful (i ve seen it going very fast at the clockworkmod menu at videos on youtube while mine was stuck). I then rebooted it by holding down the power button and it went to the sence screen normally.
Then i have tried the other recovery img described at the article...Same thing happened...Then the other one! Same thing again!
Every time i am trying to flash the recovery image the phone stucks in ''entering recovery...'' screen, doing nothing.
Am I doing something wrong?
Please help, it will be much appreciated! I really want to dig custom roms...I' m a total geek
Thanks in advance!!

To boot into recovery, Hold VolumeDown + Power.
Edit: maybe you've done that, but make sure that you choose the correct recovery version. that is, match the version of your phone S3/S4 with the recovery.
Specific recovery for specific phone.

The link works, i ve managed to do it but twrp is useless if you want to flash any roms...I have tried every known version of cm for htc one s and I can't flash any of them in my phone through the twrp recovery...Always fails for no apparent reason! If you want my advise, do not waste your time, cause it's almost certain that ig you flash any custom rom, you will loose the advantages of htc sense, including the camera performance and special effects and also the beautiful widgets...If anyone though knows how to flash a REALLY nice rom with twrp we will be glad to hear his/her suggestions!

sad part is I'm not going for anything fancy.. When I bought the phone (last week) it had version 4.1 on there and all I want to do is upgrade it to 4.2... and no it's NOT available through AT&T in anyways what's so ever.. hence the flash recovery chaos.
If no one response with a solid solution, then I'm just gonna let it be like you said.
