Hey guys,
My XOOM successfully installed 1.3.0 when it first came out. And I finally got around to trying to update to 1.3.2. I attempted to install 1.3.1...I did the commands...it looked like everything was successful, but when i look at tablet info it still says a kernel version of 1.3.0. So then I thought I could just jump straight to 1.3.2. So, I installed Clockwork mod recovery and every time I try to mount USB storage device I just get the option to unMount. and installing is impossible. Am I stupid or just unlucky? I'd like to finda solution that doesn't involve flashing back to stock and going through rooting again..but If I have to...I guess I Have to...Let me know if I am doing anything wrong.

i dont know what im doing wrong but last week i could install gingerbread with no issues other than the market. because of the market issue i use NVflash to go back to square 1 and start over. so i installed VEGAn 5.1.1 with no problems. after about a day i was reading up on other gingerbread roms so i went to try one and it would install but never finish booting. so i nandroid back to were i was and try the rom i had before with the market issues, that one didnt work either.
what am i missing?
ps i cant get logcat to read any farther than from recovery.
in recovery logcat says "/sbin/sh: logcat: not found"
[solved] got it ^.^
ok dont know what the [email protected]# i did but i got it working.
for any of you that care on how it started working its going to be a long post.
basically on my quest to fix this damn thing i decided to use nvflash which didnt work the first 5 times, so i used the original recovery image rather than the rooted one. that semi-bricked it so it would only boot into APX mode. so after an hour of searching XDA i just flashed the enhanced image (like in the guide on the dev forum) and holy crap it worked and installed VEGAn 7 without updating.
dont know how it fixed it but it did.
Mods can you please delete this thread
First of all i'd like to thank anyone who takes time to answer this because this has been driving me nuts for the past 2 days.
Now that thats out of the way; I have a Droid 2 and i'd consider myself a noob with this phone. I rooted the phone yesterday and had problems with ROM manager flashing cwm 2.5.0.8, so what i did was downloaded cwm3 off the internet and moved it onto my SD, renamed cwm3 to 2.5.0.8 and all of a sudden my recovery system works. Once i got that all taken care of i began messing with ROMs. My brother put the beta version of tanzanite on and bricked my phone, i fixed that. Once i got rid of tanzanite i tried using gingerblur 1.3 and got stuck in a bootloop. Right now im in the process of trying to use gummyjar 2.5. More so to the point, what my main question is, is since i'm using clockworkmod 3 would that restrict my phone from being able to use any semi-older ROM versions such as the ones previously stated?
Again, thanks a bunch to anyone who can answer my retardedly long question
I am having some phone problems as a result of a root attempt.
Phone : LG p999
Carrier : Wind (Canada)
Here's what I did:
1. Tried superoneclick root program. It never got to completion and I couldn't figure out why. It always failed at right before finishing, even after reboots.
2. After superoneclick , I decided I would edit the adb shell manually. I did not initialize psneuter because that step was successful with Superoneclick. I loaded the superuser package. After this, I couldn't get the phone to boot, even in recovery mode.
3. Next I used One-Click ClockworkMod Recovery NvFlasher to load clockworkmod (cwm) . At first I loaded it onto internal SD. This worked fine but I couldn't get it to recognize any backups or cm7 nightlies.
4. Then I tried loading on the external SD. This worked, I couldn't see any backups but could load cm7 nightly and gapps.
5. Rebooted phone, everything fine. But within a few hours, my 3g was not working. I typed #*#*4636*#*# and saw the 3g settings were empty. Apn settings are normal though.
So here is where I'm at now. Wifi, SMS, calling all work. Cannot access 3G, sdcard (can’t take pictures).
Also, I didn't make a backup. Yea, that was stupid.
first thing were you on 2.2.2 or 2.3.3 when you first tried superoneclick? It sounds like you did the update and were on 2.3.3. The superoneclick methode does not work for rooting anymore. You have to nvflash CWM first. Then flash xboarders stock ota rooted or any Rom that is pre rooted I think will work.
So what I would do at this point is try using nvflash and flash back to stock and start over. You will probally have to reinstall CWM then I would just use the xboarders stock rooted ROM just to gain root then install CM7. You probally dont have to flash xboarders first but that is the way I know will definitly work so that is what I recomend. Also I dont know if the NVflash returns the phone to stock 2.2.2 or 2.3.3 I have never done it. maybe someone else who knows more could chime in.

Are you already on Cyanogen Mod 7 as your title indicates? CM7 is rooted OOTB. There is no reason to try and root it again.
Yes it is running CM7 now, but with some serious problems:
1. Can't use one click to flash stock ROM -- each time I try the phone gets stuck in a rebooting loop and just eventually freezes.
2. 3G/sdcard problems with CM7
- not sure if this is just an issue with the CM7 build or whether my phone is causing this.
I have flashed CM7, but the weird thing is that the 3G works fine for about a day and then it cuts out. Its not an APN thing --> I checked the settings. Any ideas what is going on there?
Gonna try loading xboarders when I have a free evening.
Thanks
Hi Guys,
I have been searching for a solution to my problem, but have come up empty handed so far, thought i would post to see if anyone can help me here.
I have a Xoom EU 3G, it currently has a EOS ICS Rom on it.
I am trying to flash it to the EOS Jellybean ROM.
I am copying the rom, and gapps to the SD card, and rebooting to the clockworkmod Recovery V3.2.0.0, and perform the wipes and resets as the guides tell you.
I then select the install from zip option, and choose the new rom, how ever it kinda get stuck on "opening update package" spends ages there, and eventually goes back to the recovery screen. I thought it finished, so i installed the GAPPs, but after rebooting it was still running ICS..... any ideas where I am going wrong?
Thanks
Try flashing eos recovery and then try it
i'll see if I can get that recovery on it, i was trying all sorts of things yesterday, and now the tablet is stuck on the motorola logo :/
I may need to use the computer to flash it now
Well I managed to change the recovery rom to the EOS recovery touchrom, and i downloaded the nightley 101 onto my sd card, but when i go on the step install from SD card it still get stuck on opening update package..... i left it for over a hour and eventually it just returns to the main menu, and doesn't flash it... i'm a bit lost on this.... any ideas?
Must be a bad download, try downloading a new one.
Sent from my Xoom using xda premium
well thats what I thought, so i tried the 99, 100, and 101 nightly, and no luck with any of them, the md5 check is ok too... so confused with this one!
hi guys, finally managed to sort this issue, turns out my SD card was on its way out, it still worked, but i was trying to copy the update off it, and it gave me a cyclic error, so changed the card, and now I am running Jelly bean
I do have just 1 more question tho, I installed the GAPPS, however it did not install google maps for me... is this normal? also when i try install maps manually, it tells me its not available for my country :S but i have it on my phone, and had it on my xoom before.... any ideas on this one?
BTW i live in malta
Okay so I've been all over this site and linked to many other articles to proceed and hope to fix my issue but nothing seems to be working for me. To get you guys up to speed it's a SGH-T959V and I started out with having jelly bean 4.0 on it then upgraded to 4.2.2 which I occurred an issue with that and had to revert to getting gingerbread flashed back on. It's been a little while since I've done so and kinda forgot how I did it. I've read about using odin and heimdall but no luck getting my phone to connect with either of those programs.
Recently upgraded to 4.4.2 slimkat which was working good (still some bugs, since it's weekly) and had TWRP recovery on it. Problem started as I was starting the process to flash the new update of 4.4.2 and I created a back up and recovery for it prior to flash but now its gone. During the flash of the new update it had occurred some error and now went to Semaphore CWM Recovery v6.0.4.5 and has a bunch of errors to it and I cant even format or mount an sd card. I've tried using a couple different sd cards same issues. I can boot into download mode no issues.
Anyone be able to help me out? I am pretty stumped on this one and have tried many things to get it to work. Also are there any programs I could use besides odin and heimdall to flash a different version of CWM or TWRP via usb?
Thanks guys let me know if I left anything out or if you have questions to help me out better.
Hey guys, here are a couple of pictures of what it looks like while in CWM and what its saying.
Hey guys never mind, I already figured out what I was doing wrong. All I needed to do what open a file I downloaded in this thread to get it back to stock gingerbread. Now I am going to do some more flashing to get it back to 4.4.2 slimkat. Thanks
