Anybody else having A/V sync issues when playing flv files? The typical fix (hardware decoding) doesn't play at all. Any help or insight is appreciated.

[Q] Video player requesting WiFi

Aftering rooting with Stock, my video player is requesting that I open WiFi in order to play a movie from my sd card.
Has anyone else had this issue and what was done to correct it?
Thank you in advance
Sounds like you are using the connected media app on your phone instead of the gallery or watch (it maybe videos, im running bamf gingerbread). I just tested mine, and when using the connected media app and selecting videos, I get a prompt asking me to connect to wifi.

Do you mean a connected media like VLC?
No, I believe all sense roms have an app called connected media. Try looking for it in your app drawer.

Roger...Got it. I down loaded MoboPlayer app and now I am using it
excursively as media play (movie player). Do you have any other suggestions for media player apps?
Thank you again!
I use v player. Simple to use and has all the standard screen ratios. Rockplayer lite irritated me with the damn pop up everytime I tried to use it.
Ok, I will play around with V player again. Thank you very much!

Download doubleTwist Player from the Market. There is NOTHING I couldn't play using that app.
Edit:
I didn't have time to elaborate in my first reply. I'm thinking your issue may be your video player (I'm assuming you are using the stock one). I noticed that sometimes the stock video player doesn't play all formats. I too had problems before with some YouTube and porn videos lol. I haven't had a single issue playing videos using doubleTwist.
@pak
I'm getting the same error as you now on YouTube through my browser.
It must have something to do with the YouTube site. I was just watching YouTube videos through my phones browser (Dolphin HD) the other day.
All other video sites are working properly on my phone.
BTW. I'm on Valhalla Black and have been for some time. Pardon the two post for one reply. Is raining and I Swyped submit lol.

Actually playing videos through stock player isnt an issue. Issue arises when i try streaming youtube on stock or dolphin browser .

I also have this issue playing YouTube movies through dolphin mini browser. My installed video player is MX player. Playing the same YouTube videos through the YouTube app is working just fine.
BTW, I debloated my stock video player, but that was long time ago and this issue is relatively new.

I found a workaround -
1. In the browser Youtube page, once you chose the desired video,
scroll down and choose "Desktop".
2. In the opened list choose the YouTube app.
Youtube app will open and play.

YouTube Popup Play

Is there anything I could get/flash to allow popup play to work with YouTube? I know about the desktop work around but it would be very useful to get it to work with YouTube or even other streaming videos.

[Q] YouTube Multitask

I was wondering if there's anyway that I can still able to play videos (especially music videos) even when I minimize the YouTube app.. When I minimize the app the video playback stops.. So anyway to achieve this?
Great Q! It would be nice to have this feature.

Search the play store for "youtube on". It's an app what will let you listen to Youtube in background.
Search for hacked youtube app on xda they can play with screen off and hd video.
