Differnt kernel with OC and "smartass - gov" [this govenor from erasmuxx works on hero perfect: performance and good battery] would be nice. But no idea how to deal with freq-tables..

this is a little update to my progress so far...
i found out that there seems to be a problem with some keys i used to sign that ROM.
i could´t install googlemaps, flash and the HTC widgets from market/HTC Hub without signing them with the key i used in my ROM.
workaround:
- try to download the apps from market/HTC Hub
- if installation fails look into the /cache partition, there are the downloaded apk files
- copy them to sdcard
- use zipigner 2 to resign the apk´s with "test-keys"
- install the apk´s with filemanager
or resign them on you PC/Mac with your prefered tool, like kitchen or something and install them via adb.
so if you have that problem too just download the app "zipsigner 2" from android market.
i allready fixed that issue on the upcomming first update to my ROM, but this will take some little time more cause i can´t finish everything because i had to work a lot at the moment and i want and have to use my smartphone as a smartphone on working days. need something that is safe and solid, hope you understand that ;-)

No... My Rom is signed with test-keys... Not with the official HTC keys.
That's a big difference.
S-On users have no possibility to flash my Rom until there is a way to root it and get custom recovery running.

quick update:
just added the new google talk app with voice and video call support which comes with android 2.3.4 to the nexus devices.
it works very well from phone to phone, but have problems to the browser plugin for gmail. but i think thats related to my macbook. google wrote in the documentation that there are problems with the buildin isight cam.
so if you know somebody who uses a nexus s or nexus one or any other device running 2.3.4 (like CM7.1) or 2.3.3 (most custom rom´s like CM7) and has a front face cam you can do very good video calls with it.
will be added in the update for the ROM which i hope to get finished this week

this issue is already fixed in my build ;-) but i will have no time the next days to repack everything for an update. sorry :-( job is eating most of my time actually.
but you can use the "workaround" i wrote on the 1. page. this will let you install googlemaps and flash.

Introducing! - Barcode Customizations!!!!
In an effort to give each use a customizable experience i have come up with a simple yet complex way to do so. Read on for directions and expect more as suggestions come in, and I learn more about the possibilites of scripting.
Directions
Navigate to this site using a pc, or something that can open a webpage so you can scan the barcodes.
Open the "Scripter" app located in your app drawer
Press the bottom right button "Scan Script".
If this is the first time you've used the barcode scanner since flashing, it will give you directions. Press Done to continue.
Choose which modification you would like to scan first and scan the barcode with the scanner.
A dialog will pop up explaining the script that is going to run touch "yes".
Now the script will run and another dialog box will say "Running Script - Please wait..." Wait about 3 seconds and then change the orientation of the phone and this dialog will disappear. Done, your script has been completed. (This is a bug, and i'm already talking with the author to get some fixes.)
Scan any other modification you would like, then reboot when finished.
Please give me some feedback and suggestions for these mod's and anything you would like.
For any of the apps removed, you can find them in your SDCard under "Removed-APKs".
Vanilla Lockscreen mod!
This removes HtcLockScreen.apk, HTCMusic.apk, and WorldClock.apk
Add's Vanilla Music and Clock (this is to fix the alarm issue.)
Remove Sprint Bloatware!
This removes all sprint apps.
To add an individual app back, navigate to /sdcard/Removed-APKs and install accordingly.
Remove Junk!
This removes Stock.apk, HtcTwitter.apk, com.htc.TwitterWidget.apk, com.htc.StockWidget.apk, teeter.apk, HtcFootprints.apk, HtcFootprintsWidget.apk, amazonmp3.apk, Flickr. apk and HTCMobileGuide.apk

Edit: Ok I'm a baddie, I didnt wipe before install. Strangely it loaded just fine but all of your programs are there as well as everything else I had installed on my previous rom, including wallpaper! Is that normal? I've never got that after loading any other ROM's. Seemed kinda cool actually. Well except all my home screens were blank. Gonna wipe and re-do
Wow just flashed this rom and so far its incredibly fast! Seems stable so far too. No fc's as of yet. I'll let you know how battery life is later.

Do anyone know how to get my Twitter updates to show up in the Friendstream widget? I pushed the HtcTwitter.apk to the phone and it's there. I went into settings and logged in. But it's still not showing up. However if I go the top of the Friendstream widget and press the arrow, I can see both my facebook and Twitter updates.
But for some strange reason the twitter updates is not automatically showing on the widget itself, only the facebook ones.

Full, Clean Installation Instructions:
Note: This is a Gingerbread release and thus requires Clockwork Recovery 3.x.x.x. A few have reported flashing issues with recent versions of CWR, so if you have issues try rolling back to 3.0.2.5 or 3.0.0.6.
1. Download ROM Manager from the Market.
2. Go to "Download ROM", select my section (gtg465x), and select the latest release.

Have the add-ons just not been uploaded yet, or is it a loading issue on my end? The only add-on available for Inspired Ace was Ad blocking when I tried.
Remember guys... GPS might take a few minutes to lock the first time you try it. This is likely because agps data hasn't been cached yet. If it's taking too long on the first try, you can download FasterFix from the Market to help you out. Subsequent locks should happen quickly. It's usually just the first one that sucks.
edit: Also, before trying GPS for the first time, go to Settings > Search > Google search and check Use my location. That may actually be all you need to do.

this is based on HTC's (near) official GB version for the Desire HD (the Inspire's brotha from the same mother).

Inspired Saga was a port from the Desire S. This is based on a release for the Desire HD. Admittedly, most of the changes are under the hood and in the kernel. Things you might notice are the addition of Dolby Mobile audio and the removal of the useless mirror app in this build compared to Inspired Saga. If you don't care about those things, feel free to keep rockin' Saga. I would like to think that the reason this isn't much of an improvement over Saga is because I did such a good port of the Desire S ROM .

What exactly does non-sense mean to you? To me it means running AOSP, CM7, or MIUI, but I assume you want me to modify this build. I could remove most of the Sense apps and replace them them AOSP equivalents, but I don't have the patience to theme all of the framework and everything. Heck, I don't mind if someone else posts a non-sense version of my ROM as long as they make it clear that it's based on my work in their thread.

Can I update without losing all my apps and settings?
Yes, each release can be flashed without losing your data. But I recommend making a Nandroid Backup before updating/flashing.
I want to remove all Sense Related stuff, is this possible with this ROM or do i need to install a non-Sense related ROM?
I have attached a sense removal script with default launcher. Just run that through recovery and you should end up with a non-Sense ROM
After I loaded a new ROM and performed a restore, I have duplicate ringtones/notifications/alarms?
You can fix this by clearing the data of "Media Storage" (Menu->Setting->Applications->Manage applications->Media Storage->Clear data), then reboot.
How can i Change system/app/... apks skin or icons?
Since this Build is optimized and Odexed you will need too take some precautions. First you will need a APK Deodexed that you trying to change. Then from within the Build you will need to delete the apk and the respective odex file.
Example:
(Changes to the browser)
1. Inside Build system/App you will find Browser.apk and browser.odex you will need too delete both files.
2. You will need a browser.apk Deodexed which contains the Browser.apk & Browser.odex merged into one bigger Browser.apk
3. Make the changes and then push it to system/app (don't forget 1st step)
Another way would be to use an Android kitchen to deodex the entire system/app and then you will have the system/app deodexed then just change what you like.
I dont like the 4x5 app drawer in CoreDroidMoD 5.4 & 6.5, can i revert back to the 4x4? or I dont like the 5x5 app drawer in CoreDroidMoD 6.5

Should I use a task killer?
Task Killers are NOT advised! They do nothing but kill your battery and stop processes that aren't supposed to be stopped. Besides Task Killer tweaks have already been applied to the ROM
However i have attached the Sense 3.0 HTC Task Manager if you feel the need to have one. Just flash it through recovery, reboot and wait for it to re-build the dalvik cache. USE ONLY WITH CoreDroidMoD v5.4 and NOT CoreDroidMoD v6.5!
Is there anything else i can do to improve battery?
You can disable "Tell HTC" and "OTA Software Updates" found in about phone > software information. You can also set your phone to use 2g and alternate it to 3g when you need to. Also if you dont use Stocks, News, Hub or HTC Like you can uninstall or freeze these using Titanium Backup (freeze only available in the pro version!).
How come I get low Quadrant scores on GB ROMs?
This is mainly because there aren't any custom kernels yet. We're using a stock GB kernel without tweaks or OC.
Are there custom kernels for GB ROMs?
No not yet. The source code for GB kernels has been released. So it's a matter of time now before we can get to use these.

Battery is fantastic on mine lol...
However i have disabled "Tell HTC" and "OTA Software Updates"
I also "froze" stocks, news, htc like and few other apps i dont use with TB and i charged my handset overnight and in the morning at approx 7a.m rebooted in recovery and deleted battery stats and then recharged it.
It is now on 97% and has been running for over 6 hours so its all good.

Advanced Reboot menu also fixed
I think im going to re-release the complete ROM today with the fixes implemented.
Updated 1st Post with Latest Rom.
Will try and provide a recovery .zip with just the updates for those that have already downloaded the 1st Rom.

Trying to get my device s-off'd but it will take a couple of weeks as I'll have to probably send my phone away as I can't afford to buy an Xtc clip , also have a busy time at work so can't go with out phone just now
So hopefully by the time you've got the initial issues sorted out with the rom I'll be able to flash it too.

This is Sergios CoreDroid Rom for the ACE ported to our Desire S so it comes with that theme as standard. Its what the ROM is about, the blue eye candy
You can always flash loveboatcaptains LBC rom which has the default theme i believe.

Autoinstall script (txh RMK) will install all apps in sdcard/RCTeam/app.user folder.
Option 1.
If you are coming from ANY other ROM, do this before flashing RCMix with autoinstall script.
Create a folder named RCTeam on the root of sd card, in that folder, create a subfolder named app.user.
(OPTIONAL) Use file explorer which allows you to go to data folder in your PHONE memory. You need to go to data/app folder, then select all wanted apps, copy and paste them to your newly created RCTeam/app.user folder on sd card root. I used Root Explorer, not sure if other file explorers will have same functionality.
Put all your apps you usually install after a fresh install into RCTeam/app.user
Flash ROM, sit back and enjoy autoinstall

If you already flashed RCMix with autoinstall script, do this to make your apps autoinstall on next reboot.

I am not trying to hate or anything. I thank you for your free time. But when will someone make a good non sense rom? All we see is rehash of other roms. Something like cyanogenmod would be so awesome for this phone. One can only hope

hmm... :/ got the files from idan, will check if it is fixable tomorrow...
found another "small" issue, maps are not installing, will make a RC2 before i go to bed.
hey, im not actually using this rom im on insertcoin but i thought i would share some base related problems to see if its replicated on this rom also as you share the same rom
firstly, news widget ONLY displays headlines, no preview of article, this is only in the widget. you should notice straight away as it makes the widget feel emppty with large gaps between articles.
secondly friend stream widget is not displaying time stamps below posts
lets see if any guys on your rom gets these issues too, thanks

seems like the same issues... need to port those proper, now its pretty dirty
anyway, i think there soon will be a proper 2.3.4 european leak, with all apps there, so there will not be any need for porting.

After initial setup completes (HTC Setup)
First: Select a default launcher.
Open the "Mods" app, select FIRST TIME SETUP.
Tips:
If you install Nova launcher it has a JellyBean icon pack included
APM will NOT work with the Google Edition System UI using Sense framework. (Some reports of APM working. Not sure which APM.)

Use an app like titanium backup and uninstall HTC lock screen. Done.

Honestly there is a lot i like about sense a few things i dont, one thing is the dialer, i much prefer GE dialer....is there anyway to get the google dialer onto an HTC sense ROM? Does this do that?
Sooooo....this one is more Sense with sprinkles of GE versus your other ROM?
Sucks that GE_On_Sense has been put out to pasture (esp since i just flashed it last night and am loving it so far! Great job on that one)

I definitely agree. I love GE but only wanted a select few HTC apps like Zoe and Messaging. Everything else to me was perfect. The GE_On_Sense rom was on point. I don't want to seem ungrateful because I'm not but this ROM has too much SENSE lol...Sorry Tyler but I'll be staying on 3.0.1. for a while. It's sad that you ended the GE_ON_SENSE thread. Regardless, I love your work so you will always have me as a follower.

This ROM is more SENSE on Google Experience UI instead of the GE_ON_SENSE rom being GE with some SENSE intact (ZOE camera and/or HTC messaging app)

Great work! But just a heads up, using the Modaco Toolkit with Xposed, under the Nexus options, you can enable APM and it works just fine

No problem. When the GE_ON_SENSE rom came out, everybody was asking for certain SENSE features to be put back in so I guess Tyler went this route and is able to please those that wanted those features without having to individually do it for each person that wanted X feature back.
I personally love the stock Google Experience UI but I love HTC Zoe and Gallery so I'll be stuck on 3.0.1 for now. This new one is too much for me haha
fyi...I installed the same APM I have been using on other roms such as ARHD, Viper, etc and it works with this rom.

This. All I want is a GE ROM with the Sense camera/gallery and Sense messaging app. It seemed like 3.0.1 of the other ROM was exactly that (with a little bit more Sense, too).
I think there needs to be more clarification in the original post about what this ROM actually does. I'm so confused. I feel like I shouldn't switch from 3.0.1 of the other ROM to this ROM, but the other ROM is now discontinued
