Titanium backup force close fix - HTC Inspire 4G

I've seen this across a few of the rom threads in the past couple days, and wanted to share a fix.
If you've recently flashed a rom and titanium backup force closes when you try to run it, uninstall it, install the newest busybox from market, and reinstall titanium backup, it worked for me and a few others.
I'm not sure as to the particulars of the probrlem, but somehow tibu gets confused about your busybox, and needs a fresh install of the latest version.

Reinstalling busybox didn't fix it for me, using an older apk however did.

If you are referring to the force close when opening tb version 3.7.6, that was an issue that has been resolved by the developer in the recently released 3.7.6.1.

"Application not installed."

I am currently running CM6 on my Dream and started having issues with installing applications today. Suddenly they no longer install and I am faced with the message in this thread's title. I've ran fix_permissions and fix_UID off my recovery but still can't seem to get it resolved. Any ideas?

only time that happens for me is when i customise an apk, lets say v1.1, and try installing update v1.2 from the market.
I then have to manually uninstall old version then install update.
did that work?
Unfortunately, it didn't. But tonight I'm just going to wipe and revert back to CM5... Its a lot more smooth and the ext partitioning for apps seems to work better also...

Market Missing After Restore

I was playing with a ROM and decided that it wasn't for me so restored a back up I had made a couple of hours earlier and Android Market is now missing.
I have tried restoring it and a couple of previous back ups but still no Market.
Found a couple of APK's for the Market and while the phone claims to have installed them, I have the icon, the app won't launch.
Any ideas before I return to stock and start over ?
What rom were you using?

Went from Cyanogen to Gingerbeast and back again.
Curious as trying new ROM's isn't exactly a new thing for me or this device.
Best bet would be do a full wipe and then a clean install of either ginger or cm7

That is what I was thinking but just wanted to make certain I wasn't missing a trick.
Thanking you muchly
All you have to do is flash the Google Apps addon. It will install the market app.
Knew I would find a better way.
Many thanks !

Help get wifi calling app to work

Hey so recently I deleted my wifi calling app and decided that I want it back. I have a titanium backup of it but it won't install it. I searched for the kineto apk and installed that and the app opens but quickly closes after a few seconds.
Does it matter which rom I have? If so I am currently using xboarders tweaked 2.3.3 rom
Thanks

It should be working since that rom had that in it to begin with. you might want to try to fix permissions and wipe cache. If that doesn't work I believe you could just re-flash the rom right over yours. that should re-install the wifi calling.

Swype problem

So I know I have read how to fix this but noe I can't seem to be able to fix it. I am running the Weapon rom and I downloaded a black modded version of swype. I deleted the stock version and the .lib that went with it. I then installed the new version and it still asked me if I wanted to replace the other version...so I said yes. And it works...until I reboot and then I get process swype force close. Any ideas hoe to fix this? Thanks.

Use Titanium Backup to uninstall swype then install from apk.
Might fix it. Couldn't hurt to try a permission fix either.

Thanks. I got it working. For some reason I thought by deleting the .apk that would uninstall it. So I used root installer and them reinstalled it. And poof...works...

Try T-Swipe Pro from the Market. It blows Swype away.

[Q] How to switch off App update notification?

Ok, So, I have XE Currency 2.06 installed on my phone. Now, Xe, had come up with version 3.01 and then 3.02. I tried them, did not like them and hence went back to 2.06.
The problem I have is that every time I restart my phone I get a notification that an update has been found. Is there anyway to switch off the notification for specific apps?
Thanks
Break the market link with titanium backup

First of all copy / backup that version u do like on TB.
2nd:
Just turn off all update notifications on Play market. Just go there once in awhile to update the apps u want.
