ZombieStomped 1.2(Full market patch now available)
Before I say anything, I would like to thank Jrummy for helping me with this as much as he did, also for bearing with me through all of my annoying questions.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Imoseyon for looking over my code and for all of his awesome kernel tweaks.
^Without these two people the Droid X/2 rom community would be totally lame^
For my first release I made a fairly basic build. That being said however, there are a lot of tweaks that will definitely be noticeable in battery life and performance. Also I wanted this to be very easy for everyone. After the initial install I have made all of the performance adjustments for you. Install it and you're good to go!
ZombieStomped 1.2:
Changes:
-redid the entire base
-no longer optipnged
-everything Social Networking wise is working
-added the build version in about phone(screenshot below)
-added vvm back in for those who use it
-all known bugs have been squashed
-added nano! (Thanks Jrummy!!!)
ZombieStomped 1.0:
Init.d support:
-local.prop redraw hack (I found a lot more redraws in GB compared to Froyo)
-interactive governor by default (much faster than ondemand)
-logger disabled (Better performance and battery life)
-sysctl tweaks
-cron, purge vm caches twice per day as GB is a high RAM OS
-decided against minfree tweaks as it would probably just cause more redraws
All apps fully optimized:
-Deodexed
-Zipaligned on every boot
-Optipnged
-Bloat apps removed
Other features:
-CHARGE LIGHT!
-build.prop edits
-updated busybox to work with cron
-CRT screen off animation (don't set window animations to fast in spare parts or it won't work)
-added spare parts
How to install ZombieStomped:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
YOU MUST ALREADY BE RUNNING THE OFFICIAL DROID 2 GB LEAK WHICH CAN BE FOUND HERE.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are running the official Droid 2 GB leak then:
-bootstrap recovery
-reboot into bootstrap recovery
-MAKE A BACKUP
-Wipe data/factory reset
-Install ZombieStomped1.2zip
-Reboot
Your phone may appear to bootloop once on the initial install, do not be alarmed! It is just a part of the zipaligning process.
On the first boot it you're phone may reboot, this is normal and a side effect of the interactive gov on first boot..

DISCLAIMER
I am not responsible for anything that may go wrong with you're device after installing this. If something did go wrong, chances are you didn't follow directions correctly.
Testing this out now.
Been stuck at loading screen for about 20 minutes, wiped after backup ad flashed.
Can't boot into bootstrap either.
Womp
Hmm..any other feedback? Would love to hear if this works for others. Also do you need to be running the deodexed version of the leaked ROM before installing this or what?
Attempting again.
Tried again, same result.
Bootstrap, wipe, install. After install it just hangs at M and seems to do this because it is not a recognized ROM and the phone is trying to authenticate it.
Womp womp :-/
Try redownloading? It flashed fine for me, but I can't seem to download anything from the market
thank you. I did everything to the letter and I am now the proud owner of a droid 2 with GB 2.3 fully rooted and running stomped 1.21 LOL
Remember to run z4root on the stock rom then flash the monster rooted zip file, then stomp andmarket patch
installed, works great so far. Thanks for making this. What exactly is the market patch for?

Market patch allow you access to all apps in the market - some apps (like TV.COM for instance) will not appear on the gingerbread based ROMs - definitely apply it -
I installed this rom yesterday and it is nice and fast no issues so far.

It won't let me download the zip file. Does whether I'm doing it from my phone or a computer make a difference?

You can't do it on your phone unless you have a program that allows you to, like Castro file manager, download it on your computer.

wow, pretty impressed
im very happy with the gingerbread and thank you very much for developing a fix for it. i have a few things to say, its fast, looks better, functions better, and shows high quadrants. i oc'd it to 1.2 at first and got 2059 and oc'd at 1.1 i got 1866...thats the highest quadrants ive ever seen on any rom for my droid 2 with any kind of overclocking settings period. but i think its awesome with the crt zoom out when you turn the screen off and the visual animations are pretty awesome. definitely worth the wait and its working almost flawlessly. the little led notification in the top right portion of my screen doesnt seem to work at all and sometimes i have to restart my phone due to the poor volume in the headset when a call comes in (can barely hear anything) but i heard thats a gb issue for the droid 2 before you "fixed" some things. also i would be interested to see exactly what apks you can remove from system/app because theres a lot of bloat ware and i renamed/deleted a lot of the stuff i know i wouldnt use but accidentally removed some very important files (idr which ones) but i had to sbf and do it all over again to have a functioning phone so if theres a list of removable apks somewhere for gb maybe someone could post a link? thanks for all the hard work again!
If you removed anything that has blur in the name thats probably what did it for you

I installed ZS 1.5 right on top of 1.2 and have had no problems at all.
It took a few minutes for it to get up to speed but now it seems faster than before.

OK!. Another pearl from our greatest polish developers, this one without ramhack, and with JIT enabled, so greatest speed for the gamers.
Not so great looking, like Laszlo ROM, but the best speed i've seen without ramhack by now, believe me. Worth the try.
Change log is from every version, so mmake the sum of all...

Screenshots later.
I might try this... but I love the Laszlo ROM so much. Eh, decisions!
Screenshots?
Ill flash it..and give back feedback
I'll give this one a try as well. Been using Donut by Laszlo the last two days and I like the looks except for a few icons(don't like square boxes on my icons) and the speed is real good.
the not so great looking part is perfect, The ROMs posted here should focus on the internal technical aspects, like speed n stability. you wanna worry bout looks goto theme section. Themes are something personal
otherwise good work
i was first to post screens for lazzo's last release... someone care to do that for this
this thing is super fast, minor lag when coming to the first boot and i agree, i prefer a boot loading screen than a white screen...otherwise A+

I'm using this rom almost from beginning. My favourite one ;-)
I'm still using 1.6 BLUO with JIT ( by hand ).

Guy, you are crazy. I'm grateful, but it shoulden't be on XDA, between great developer ROM's. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's mine opinion. BonsaI it's mine modification/distribution of some great ROM.
If you install it, you wont disappointed, like author said.
Edit: 5 minutes witout ROM's on server
Actually the fastest ROM
Well, I always keep saying about ROMs that the AOSP outpasses al the rest of the ROMs in this forum, Now that I have used this ROM for a coupl of hours - I kind of having a feeling to keep it running on my G1.
1. According to speed my experience on G1:
CSDI/BLUE MAGIC> BONSAI> AOSP> SupD/Fasttest> Laszlo> and rests
2. The Look is not bad, stability and speed sustainibility wil be reported as sson as I have used this for another couple of days
3. Built in apps choice is really great! - it has ROOT explorer, BT FTP, Quick boot, SetCPU, SU, Taptalker, Sound Recorder by default
4. Built in HTC IME
5. I am liking it
Tried all the ROMs and this one seem to stay on my G1 for longer period after AOSP.
Worth trying!!!
Maybe distributing paid apps is not so good for a rom...
missing some apps from the market. is there newer version of the market out there that is installed on this rom?
I'm impressed. This rom is crazy smooth.

hey bro excellent review. this is how people should review stuff. comparing them to the other roms theyve used, and also providing feedback was to what this rom is good at and bad at (aka a pro's con's list). some people were saying they had reboot issues? i'm guessing yours is running perfect. lazlo's rom was ok but he doesn't respond on feedback and i disliked it because i couldnt install the latin_ime.apk without a force close.
@sino8r- is their latin_ime.apk running in this rom or will it fc as well? if this rom runs well, i am going to theme it to CYANOCH (if you guys remember that is what i put together using CYANOID and ENOCH themes for two roms that had no good themes at that time. currently i am running Pay's rom with advanced launcher because i didnt like home++;i themed it as well to CYANOCH and made it JIT enabled- so far its very smooth.

THIS WILL WIPE DATA
Install setcpu to overclock. Default clock is 1017mhz
Gingerbread 2.3.4 compiled from AOSP source.
recommended radio is latest OTA- you can get it here, just put it on your internal sd card, and reboot into bootloader. this was taked from id10terror's zip, and this rom has everything from that fix(thanks id10)- youll just need that radio(not required, just recommended)
this is a hybrid build of sorts as it still uses some cm7 drivers, build scripts and the proprietary htc vendor files from cyanogens git. All the apps and rest of the build was cloned from the latest updates of the AOSP source from android.git.kernel.org repo. i left some of cm7's framework tweaks in, and added a few small things of my own.
Everything was edited BEFORE compiling so nothing in this rom has been decompiled or hacked, so it will make a great base for themes and all that.
The way it sits right now, it is the smoothest rom ive ever used. (youll see)
rom-
-compiled from aosp source with some cm tweaks and some of my own
-completely stock theme-untouched/
-CRT screen off animation
-overscroll glow
-custom boot animation (put bootanimation.zip in /system/media)
-reboot, reboot recovery, reboot bootloader
-4 quicksettings in the status bar(wifi, bluetooth, gps, vibrate)
-accurate % battery- (wasnt gonna include this, but i know it would get asked for, plus i wanted it so i wrote the stat_sys xmls.)
-rotary unlock screen
-inspire 4g branding
-working flash player(DO NOT UPDATE FLASH)
-inspire 4g audio files and kernel should be supporting the dual mic
-cm DSP manager, rom manager, file manager & torch.apk- compiled from source and included
-ad blocking
-+ a lot more but ive been up for 2 days.
kernel-
base-CM7 kali- any cm7 kernel should work with the rom
Overclock up to 1.97ghz
-slight undervolt-can be made more aggressive for better battery with a script
-kernel updated throughout
-bfq i/o default
-on-demand(default- dont even really need anything else, battery is very good) conservative, performance- smartass will come for those who want it
-tiny rcu patched in and working from here
-'speedmod'- updated jhash.h lookup2 to lookout3 as seen here
-a whole lot more improvemnts, but agian, i need sleep.
Git is in my sig.
-
credits- anyone/everyone involved with CM
kali for kernel patches

DLing right now to give it a whirl.
So far so good the name says it all. Absolutely digging the rom good work!

Someone already answered it, but I would like to point out that the sd read ahead will always say unknown, instead of the 3072 it should say after flashing the shot.
That being said- on rootswiki, someone (possibly White) mentioned that after each reboot, it always goes back to 2048, regardless of what it was set on. Either way, sd read ahead is working, and the shot seems to do what it has always done- make everything just a little better.
Really do not feel the need to try anything else.
Someone mentioned the ADW bug (and I pointed it out in the video too).... I am the BIGGEST ADW EX fan there is.... but the last update left me willing to try new launchers.
Check out Launcher 360. It is in the Androids App section.... pretty amazing performance and it never seems to get reset. Themes a plenty and cool tweaks.
EDIT, here is a link to LAUNCHER 360
I did a video for it too... I only had it for about 10 minutes so I am still learning in the video. Sorry for all the "umms" - I was also trying to watch my 3 year old girl running around, ha.
Wow, 64m heap. Are there any downsides to that?
Very smooth rom I must say. Hope battery life is equally good, will try out.
Thanks for the hard work!
PS: I'm a big GoLauncher EX fan and would recommend to anyone to give it a try.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
So far great this running great, its fast and amazing.
I do have one issue I was wondering if anyone else have had. Whenever I try to download a zip file from the web, it says "unknown file download unsuccessful." I found this out while trying to download zip files from xda, then try it on other sites, the same problem persist.
Things I did:
I followed instructions to the word.
I added lighting zap tweak to remove fps cap which also came with other tweaks.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Built from 2.3.6 and themed towards ICS. Hope you enjoy it !!

Hopefully you dont. I've been running a rough build for almost 2 weeks and and delayed launch for several days making sure it was ready and I wasn't finding any bugs.
Ummmm why do we need to install the lithium zip then the updater zip? what happens if we dont run the updater zip?
Just want clarification, I have done a CWM backup and im just waiting to hear your answer before flashing your rom
You wont get the inverted settings. This was a pain in the $$$ and the only way to do it was this way. No matter what I tried the app would not install at boot unless done this way.
want to have a try, international language support?

If you have an MB865 you'll be fine. I will check into adding some international support but it will be a couple of days
theres no settings apk installed. i did all wipes a flashed.
Well it seems super responsive, nice boot animation. Everything seems to work.
Bugs I found:
Battery meter is not accurate, I was using it and it went down to 95%, then I went to the kitchen to get a drink and came back to have the battery at 100%. So either the battery mod isnt accurate or I have a self energy regenerating battery
Perfect Applock seems to be in a constant service bootloop. It does this with yours, stock deodexed and Supercharged rom. Pity, oh well, I use this app to protect ppl from using apps I don't want them to use. Guess Ill go back to VictoryRom.
I've just recently begun to flash around with my Atrix 2 and I have to say this ROM looks and sounds really SWEET
But you know why I'm not going to install it?
Because of this:
May not look like a big deal but I just need that effin Enter-button to be there instead
I'd absolutely try it out if you could MAYBE add the Blur messaging app(s) *braces for impact*

Give the phone time to settle. I have yet to see any issues with the battery. As far as your app. Remove the CWM on boot and I can just about guarantee it will work for you

Trust me, I know
This is why I asked whether it was possible to include the blur messaging app, because I know for some reason the keyboard is different there than in the aosp messaging app

Pros and Cons
Pros: Pretty fast and stable
Nice clean ICS like theme
Fairly light weight and not changed to much
Highest stock overclock
Cons: Unsupported at the moment due to ownership change, V6 hopefully coming soon
Doesn't have as many tweaks as some of the other roms, this could also be a pro for some people
Bottom line
Probably the simplest of the Roms I have tried, SCV5 is nice and stable, making it a good first choice, the theme is not too heavy, so it feels closer to stock than others. Many others are much more de-blurred and have more removed Motorola stuff. If you want a fast stable, but not to far off of stock ROM, Supercharged is the way to go. User Rdavisct has taken this over as one of his many projects and judging by his other work, I think we will all be in for a treat when SCV5 is released. (No Pressure Rdavisct if you are reading this)

Pros and Cons
Pros: Great ICS like theme
Inverted color settings is great
Fast
Debloated and Deblurred
Cons: not much, a little less stable than supercharged, I have had a few reboots
Bottom Line
Much further from stock than Supercharged, fast, and beautifully themed, this is one of my favorites. Lithium would not be a good choice for those of you who are fans of all the Motorola Blur stuff, but for most it is great. The overclock is set at 1100, making it faster than stock, but still stable, and the removal of bloatware helps even more with the speed. There is a large emphasis on the theme, which is good for most people. It is ICS like, with blue icons and status bar clock, it also has the useful pull down options that are in most roms. The inverted colors in the menus and keyboard look fantastic, and they make it easier on the eyes at night. There are still a few places where colors have not been inverted, such as the battery use page, but in general the theme is flawless. CWM on boot is enabled by default, but can be disabled by flashing the standard removal zip. Lithium is one of the best roms available for our device, and I only expect it to continue getting better
It might be helpful for the reader to know what launcher comes as the default with any given ROM. Launcher preference is extremely important to some. My two cents. Good luck with the thread.
The End.

Yep, i'm getting there. I didn't actually mean to post it yet. I hit post instead of preview. I will add both links and screenshots, thanks for the suggestions though. glad to see people are interested in this
Mirrors of supercharged, sonya, and lithium are now up, uploading the rest as we speak
Edit: I will upload more tomorrow, I have to get work done today and it is slowing down my internet too much
What a great idea to summarize all available roms for the Atrix 2 in one thread, Thanks!!!. I just want to suggest that perhaps it would be good to add the installation method of the rom, not the instructions, only something like this: " Lithium --> Install Method: CWM Restore.
VictoryRom --> Install Method: CWM Flasheable zip."

Glad you are interested. I was shocked that no one had done this, so I thought I would take it on. God point on adding instructions, I will do so. that is once I try all the roms more and get full reviews up! Mirrors are now up
Thanks for being patient. Mirrors for all our major roms are now up. I also included the flash to stock script in case anyone needs it. download speeds are around 3 MB/s for me!
Thanks! Very Helpful
Seems to have slowed down? no?

Do you mean the Mirrors, or me? The mirrors might if many people download, Google drive is new so I don't know if they would throttle, it could also go down just due to Google doing maintenance. If you mean, you are right, I am getting back to this, but I have been rally busy the last few days, tonight I am going to write up the Sonya v3 review and flash something else to try for tomorrow and I'll try to do one a night until I'm done. Sorry for the delay, it will be done before next week. I'm just crazy busy right now.

Thank's!! that fastboot script has saved me thozen of times . By the way i dont see the Victory Rom maybe you should put it in the list and in Google Drive, in my opinion it's an excellent rom, for people who likes the moto blur stuff it's awesome because it's fast and super stable and it's not a cwm backup (for those having problems to restore cwm backups)
Thanks for this, great idea.
