What do I do?
call cellular south and inform them that you found the device. they will know who it belongs to by the phones S/N.

Hi guys and girls, I've got a bit of an issue.
My Niki100 (HTC Touch Dual) won't seem to read my shiny new South Korean USIM.
The phone is originally from Australia, and has been quite happy roaming around on the 2100mhz 3G network here in South Korea using my Australian (3G) USIM, but it won't read the South Korean USIM.
It reads enough to pull up the number from the USIM, which shows in phone services, but it won't register on the network at all.
I was expecting it to play nicely and just forget about the GSM part of the phone and continue connecting on the UMTS (WCDMA) band, but apparently not.
I've tried a variety of ROM's and Radios without results.
Any ideas?
EDIT:
Solved: It was a combination of needing a new Sim Manager version, and the retarded IMIE lock South Korea puts on all foreign phones.
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if the Nexus S that will be released in South Korea this March, is a CDMA phone or is it a GSM phone.
I guess it will be CDMA since most of the Korean service providers use the CDMA network.
Secondly, I am thinking of getting the Nexus S, but I would like to take it back to South Africa with me when I finally leave Korea.
South Africa mostly uses GSM and 3G networks. Would I be able to use this phone there if I get it unlocked and get a new SIM card?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
You'd have to find out whether the nexus s released in your country has a GSM or CDMA radio. If it doesn't that respective radio, it won't work even if it's unlocked.
You can probably find this info when it's actually released in your country.
Hello, my friend is looking to buy a smartphone but shes asked me for some help and i dont quite know the answer.... She lives in the US and is on AT&T but comes to university here in England.
My question is, if she buys an AT&T phone, what gsm bands will the phone require for 3g to work here in england (and will it be HSDPA?). Information on the internet is scattered and confusing...
Better call your carrier there in England and ask them what frequencies they use. Then search for a smartphone that works on the frequencies available there in England. GSMarena has a nice phone finder, with a lot of filters (including network frequency)

I know the Galaxy S II (both i9100 and i777 [AT&T version]) will both work in England because the English i9100 works on AT&T for both 3G and HSPA+ ("4G").
hey,
i am from India. My friend is going to gift me samsung galaxy s3 (unfortuantely and probably its t-mobile) from United States. i've no idea whether they are CDMA or GSM carrier. if its CDMA so my questions are :
can i get an unlock code which allows me access any gsm networks in India.?
And if it is GSM one, can i access 3g networks in India.?
i have read in a random forum that if its gsm carrier i can only use EDGE service in India.
AND the last one-
should i update official ics stock rom firmware for INDIA OR for The USA?

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
The 920i is the international model, and thus misses Band 4 (1700mHz) which is used by the USA GSM operators (AT&T, T-Mo, MetroPCS, et cetera). This means you won't get 4G LTE with this device.
Also, if trying with T-Mobile, they alos use 1700mHz for HSPA (3G), a frequency your device does not have either. So unless T-Mo still supports 2G (I remember a planned phasing of that out at some point), your device will not work with their network.
AT&T on the other hand, uses 3G 850/1900 frequencies, so you should be okay.
At any rate, I could be optimistically wrong. So, please create an account, so you cna post in other forums, then either post in the above linked thread, or in the S6 general help thread:

Hope this helps, and good luck!
