Hey everyone, I know this is a pretty general question, but I haven't been able find much by searching...
I'm just curious if it is possible to add rows and columns to the desktop using Sense? I'm on the Inspire 4G running Revolution HD 4G 4.0 beta. I realize this is very possible, and easy, using ADW or the like, but I'm asking specifically about Sense.
Thanks!
No, sense doesnt allow those types of mods. I personally wish I could delete the number of home screens. Pretty to the eye but not very customizable.

thanks for the quick response..kkinda figured as much!
Search the forums for Rosie 4x5 mods. I know I've seen Rosie themed and unthemed 4x5 mods for CoreDroid.
Had the same need myself. Here's what I came up with:

Is there a apk for the HTC sense home launcher
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Not that I know of, if you're using a build that doesn't come with it, then you don't have the frameworks. Those are needed for it to work. I'm pretty sure thats why everybody (including myself) has been purchasing Launcher Pro Plus and using those sense-like widgets, coupled with the ability to change the dock background. Theres a bunch of good backgrounds that make it look like The sense launcher. Theres a zip on the cm6 sense theme thread last page that has a ton of them. Rosie, Espresso/Expresso. Pretty much everything you could want. Sorry if this doesn't help.
Thank you for your help I will try the cm6 sense theme

Is it possible to have 5 rows in sense?
I know with sense 2 the apk could be modded, but not sure if it can be done with sensation
Sorry if its been asked before, the search function on the xda app is crap.

We still need someone to mod the rosie launcher on our phones, I don't think anyone has got to that point yet, something that needs to be capable with Sense 3.0 and the phone's resolution.
I'm also waiting for them to remove the personalize option on the right corner and make it an browser shortcut.,
try more icons widget...
or get another launcher.
Never used Rosie, don't even know where to find it..
I bought launcher pro about a year ago, and finally after getting my phone up and running again, I put it back on..
I'm running Synergy now... any reason I should run Rosie over Launcher Pro?
Rosie is the stock sense launcher, so the benefit is the ability to run sense widgets.
Thanks.. I think Launcher Pro is better for the many options..
Gonna stick with that.. thanks again!

Almost anything that LP can do, a themer can make Rosie do. Just to let you know. One impossible thing is the 5-app dock, except for the latest sense Rosie from the flyer.
However, the on-the-fly options that LP offers is very nice.
I prefer the other launchers' docks but love the sense widgets.....sense it is.
Love the smoothness of sense but hate the clutter of icons. Was using go launcher for a while but now back to sense. What is this newest rosie with docks "Tommytomatoe" is talking about?
I use Launcher Pro and Folder Organizer. Sure, I don't have as many widgets as with Sense (Rosie). The few I wanted, I could find in the market.
I like being able to create folders, and scrollable widgets. I can all more rows and columns, adjust the size of widgets, and have up to seven home screens. Although I don't use it, you can have up to three or five docks.
Here is a video capture of LP and FO running on Cyanogenmod 7

I believe Tommy was saying the one thing LP can do that he can't make Sense do, is have 5 buttons on the dock. However, the Sense that is on the Flyer/Express tablet DOES have 5 buttons. (And I sure wish to god someone would make THAT Rosie flashable )

C'mon, Tommy. Make that Rosie a flaahable zip. If anyone can do it....pretty sure it'd be you. (Well, fdb has gotten pretty intimate with Rosie lately, too)

Umm... Landscape rosie on evo? Why certainly...
Is there a way to install the Sense Launcher 3.0 on Miui? I have tried all kinds of different modded launchers and I dont want a modded launcher pro or ADW I would like to have the real Rosie.apk Its probably in the framework so thats why all of the launchers I have used wont work. I was hoping someone would have a modded Rosie that doesnt require to be tied into the framework. preferably the new 3.0.
No. Sense isn't just a launcher. If you want the Rosie.apk on miui, you will need to have sense framework thus equalling a sense rom

so could i take the framework from a sense roms and install it on miui and get sensed-miui?
No you can't

What do you like about Sense that you can't get with any other launcher?
I like the 3d sense 3.0 and i would love to have the animated flip sense clock on miui.

Try HeLauncher2 in the market. Looks like Sense.
I just use Fancy Widgets from the market for a Sense looking clock/weather combo. It is free.

No The Original Fancy Widget comes closer the sense clock than that one. The only thing is it isnt animated. Which I currently already have. If anyone needs it.

Hey all,
I was wondering if there is a way to PORT Sense to AOKP so I can have a mix of both. I'd be willing to look into doing it myself or with some guidance. I'm buying my girlfriend a HOX soon and she likes the AOKP on my One V but at the same time, she (for some reason) likes Sense (especially the animated weather, clock, etc. widgets). If someone knows of a ported version of the Sense widgets (with the animations), then that would also work.
Thanks, worldindo1.
If it could be done, I think it would have already been done. Someone correct me if I'm wrong..

There is no aokp sense yet. There is a sense 4.5 port but it's very unstable. Buy her beautiful widgets. It has the big fancy clock and weather animations your girlfriend likes
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app
It may be possible to port some aokp features to a specific sense ROM but I've seen someone try and port some sense elements and it isn't that easy to make each app dependant upon itself instead of the sense framework
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
The proprietary Sense features require a Sense base. No one has found a way around this and isn't likely to because the code for Sense is not open-source.
There are several Sense roms with AOKP elements.

If you want the actual Sense clock, you have to use the Sense launcher. No way otherwise.
However you could use HD widgets to get a Sense like clock and flash CleanRom Dev to get a Sense ROM with AOSP styling.

Or search for fancy widget. Its an exact copy of the sense clock minus the animations

Thanks for the tip! Just bought it and now I'm playing around with it myself.
Yeah i'd also like the combo aokp+sense. I must say mine n ur gf's thought are alike.
+1 for beautiful widgets. Use that and find a good sense theme for the theme chooser. There's like 3 or 4 in the android themes section here on xda alone. The average user wouldn't be able to tell the difference
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655946
Technically almost anything is "possible", but rohan32 explained the complexity of porting the Sense camera here, and I assume the same applies to other Sense apps and widgets.
Basically, the amount of work to port over Sense components makes it infeasible. And you would have to port the Sense launcher as well, as even on Sense based ROMs, if you ditch the launcher, you lose the widgets. At that point, you may as well just be using a Sense ROM.
