I've had g2x for 4 days now and i've noticed that when the popup notification of the 15% appears, my screen switches to 100% brightness yet my setting still says it's on auto. Has anybody else experienced this?

I am having this happen too, I have to just put in standby and then turn back on and it's normal though.
Thanks. I was about to do a reset.

Yesterday at night, my phone had about 86% battery left when I went to sleep. Today I wake up and I go to press the lock button to try to wake my phone up and it doesn't turn on. I thought it had shut itself off like many G2x are known to do, so I did a battery pull and tried to turn it on. It still wouldn't turn on.
I connected the battery charger to my phone and turned it on that way. When it turned on, the battery icon was empty and it was showing a "?" mark inside of it.
It stayed like that for about 5 minutes, then the battery started charging again, but it said it had 1% left.
What could have caused this?
The only app that was running was Juice Defender and it's setup to turn off wifi and all data connection from 12am to 8am.

Were you in a bad signal area? I noticed considerable drain before in the basement. Had to do with signals, was constantly searching for a better/stronger signal.
Are you using a ROM? Are you rooted if not? If rooted download a battery calibration app, charge to 100%, use the app, unplug phone and use till dead. Batterystats.ini may have bogus values in it and that's showing false info. That process should correct it.
I use cm7 nightly 151 with faux's oc/uv 0.4.2 kernel and sometimes I get the battery icon with ? in it, corrects itself once it detects properly.

Yeah I'm running CM7 154 I'll try that if it happens again. I charged to 100% and reset battery info in CWM Recovery.

That's most likely why. In places where I get 1 bar my battery tends to die very fast even with the screen off. So I pop it in airplane mode when I'm sleeping or know I'll be busy for a while.

No need if you have wifi available. just turn on wifi calling and you wont notice much of a battery drain with a bad signal, so people will still be able to contact you via call or text

True that would work for the OP.
Unfortunately wifi calling is not available for me

+1 on this,
This happened to me on 2 phones, my friend have over 40% and he found dead, after 15mins in his pocket, same with mine, I thought my phone locked up, tried to reset and pull battery, didn't not help, found out 0% when lug in charge. Most of the times, after flashing a new rom, battery showing choppy stats.
Has anyone else been able to update their nexus s to 4.0.4 i flashed the update through cwm (but i dont have root anymore now) and im still having some battery problems after 20 minutes i was down to 84 % from 100, anyone else having battery issues still or is it fixed for some people?
Did you set the brightness in auto mode?
Ya my brightness is on auto, would that be killing it more?

It's only my opinion, I never had a battery drain but... just today I set the brightness on auto and guess what? Battery drain.
Try this: disable auto brightness, reboot (important: seems that disable without a reboot of the phone, didn't works as a workaroud of battery drain) your phone and give it a try.
Ok ill give that a try then hopefully it will help thanks
don't forget to tell us if it works for you or not!
Ok so i turned off outo bright and put down the screen brightness pretty low and it does seem to be helping a bit im still seeing more battery drain but not as much with auto bright turned off
That battery drain is very high. My Nexus S drops 2-3% per hour while idle. With flight mode enabled it only drops 2-3% overnight. I would suggest install CPUSpy or similar to check your device is going into deep sleep. You could have an application causing a wake lock and not allowing sleep.
My tf700 keeps waking up without me pressing the power button. It happens most frequently after putting it to sleep where it would wake up about 2-3 minutes after. It would get very frequent every now and then by waking up right after I put it to sleep. I see it at night also since the screen is so bright. Now I sleep with it facing down. I'm using cromi-x but had this problem with stock also. Anyone experiencing anything like this?

Are you using a cheap eBay charger? It's a known issue with non Asus chargers.

I'm using the charger that came with it.
Mine does this only when on the dock, but not consistently, it happens random. No idea why.

There is an app in the market called wakelock detector. It's brilliant. It tells if you achieved deep sleep, for how long and which apps have been waking the device

This one?

[Edit] Yup, think that's it. Which wavelock applies here under statistics. Screen or Wakeup?
I've noticed my device wakes up every so many minutes or hours when its charging. The screen just brightens for a second and the charging indicator pops up then goes away, on a timed cycle. I think it dings too.
I have noticed that charging never seems to stop.
If the watch is "off", then when you charge you get a big picture of a battery on the screen. Underneath it is a percentage. It seems to take ages to go from 99% to 100% but the animated recharging battery graphic keeps going as if its still charging.
Similarly if the watch is switched on, the lightning bolt symbol over the battery icon in the top left corner always remains on and never goes out.
Normally you would expect a clear indication of complete charging. Has anyone seen this?

No, but it takes like 2 hrs to charge the clock for me (from 10%)
It should take one hour only!
mine has been on charge for about 4 hours and still stuck on 99% it got to 99 in about an hour.
Where do you see the % of battery
Mine only shows an arrow over the battery indicator, left corner.
Are you using some software to measure it?
thanks.
Im sure its meant to only go to 99% so it dont damage battery
Does it work with all android?

When it shows 100% does the green battery in the middle still show a "filling up" animation? On one charger it gets stuck at 99% and on another it gets to 100 but the charging animation still continues

Okay. Thank you very much for confirming the behavior. I find it odd to say the least, but it's the design rather than a fault.
New update removed the battery percentage
Hi
Since the last update, I noticed two things while charging yesterday.
I first tried to charge while the watch was turned on. It was at 13% when I plugged in and after a couple of hours with the charger connected it showed 12%... I thought that it maybe needed a "boot" to show 100% but that was not the case, after restart it still showed 12% so it didn't charge while it ran.
So I turned the watch off and charged all night and this morning when I unplugged and started the watch it showed 98% instead of 100%...
Any of you have the same experience ?
Thanks
I have a strange battery issue in my phone. My phone switches off at 5% or sometimes even at 12%. When I restart, It shows 0%. Anyone else also facing similar problem?
Anyone with a solution?

Hell yea!! Even i have the same problem... It goes off at 5% and restarts with 0% battery remaining....
Maybe v should both try a battery calibrating app from play store..
It is completely normal to happen. Depending on the surrounding the phone is kept in it switches off automatically to conserve battery drain, so it can happen anytime when phone reaches low battery or critical state. It is the device's method to prevent battery drain as a draining battery can completely destroy the battery and the mobile, so dont worry make sure power saving is on and keep your phone charging

Yes!
The level at which the phone will get off depends on how you are using and your nearby surroundings, if its too hot or too cold it will go off soon, also if you are using net and gps or any other battery consuming operation it will be off sooner than you think, I am too on stock and sometimes it does happens and sometimes not....
PS when you switch on your phone, it consumes some % of battery just like it happens when you start a car so it will go down a little bit.
Oh! I see!! Thanks for d info....
Thanks mate. That was really informative.
