Coming from other devices, I have been able to uniquely (re-)name connections to the same device distinctly. For example, we have a Motorola T505 in both of our cars and it lists both devices with the same string in the device picker.
Is there a way that I can rename them to, for example
* Moto - Cream Car
* Moto - Green Car
(We have even a worse problem with two of us in the car have Plantronics 9xx earpieces!)
adb shell and editing files isn't a problem for me...
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963927 won't help as it appears to be renaming the phone, not the paired devices)

Hi - I have two phones (XDAII & Nokia 610a) & a bluetrek G2 bluetooth headset. Both will pair individually with headset - but I cannot get the headset to switch between the 2 without turning one off. Indeed it seems that for whatever reason the Nokia takes priorty - i.e when the Nokia can see it the XDA doesn't?? Has anybody had a similar problem (& ideally found a fix?)
:?
If I recall correctly the Bluetrek G2 can be paired with two bluetooth phones. But the order in which they are paired is important. Because Bluetrek assign them a primary and ... status (read the manual).
In this case the primay will be mounted allways as first at avail of the primary paired device.
So it makes sense that you'eve to turn off the primary device to make a connection to the other one.

Hi,
with day by day increase in the size of screen, it's becoming hard to choose a good handset. Even if the handset has good hardware the size is WAY TOO big. I like the 3.7'' but now days all of them are getting bigger than that. The new droid is suppose to be 4.4''. I have heard that in Android 2.2 there are more options for bluetooth. I have tried voice dialer in my x10 (it has Android 1.6) it's terrible!! So I was wondering of other alternatives such as one my friend had. He had a sony mp3 player and he could pair that with his motorola and dial numbers from his mp3 player!!!
So I was wondering in the new Android is bluetooth dialing possible? By that I mean, having a java program installed in cheap Chinese phone and then use it to dial numbers. So you would have two phone with you; the cheap phone only to dial peoples and the big phone in your jacket to sms and web browsing.
Come on ppl.....
here's what we know about android 2.2:
Bluetooth
* Voice dialing over Bluetooth
* Ability to share contacts with other phones
* Support for Bluetooth enabled car and desk docks
* Improved compatibility matrix with car kits and headsets
So I recently got a jawbone era bluetooth headset, and UNLIKE the Droid 1, the Droid 2 (which is the only phone I have now) cannot handle a hard-wired i.e. 3.5mm connection through the headphone port AND an A2DP headset at the same time, or at least not very well...
The issue is this, I want (like I use to do with my Droid 1) to plug my phone, and thus the music player on it, into my car's speakers via the headphone jack and STILL have my bluetooth headset on. When I exit the car, it'd be nice if the phone would then play the music on the headset when the headphone jack's connection is unplugged, so that means not having to manually turn the "Media" support for the bluetooth headset on or off all the time, "Media" being the A2DP if I understand that correctly.
There use to be an app, or more precisely a widget for that, but went out of commission after the 1.6 OS was upgraded. I've rooted my phone and tried to get that app working, but no luck. I can get into the options, but not the widget itself.
So, oh talented developers and gurus, I'm hoping for a solution of some kind, and as far as I'm concerned, there are a few different possibilities...
1) Some kind hearted soul will update the A2DP toggle widget for 2.2 (soon perhaps?)
2) There might be some Music app or other app out there that will accomplish the same thing, either automatically (would be nice) or manually (not as nice, but acceptable).
3) There might be a ROM out there with Droid 1-like support for the automatic switching A2DP/headphone jack...
Basically, I'd like a one or two 'click' toggle for the bluetooth 'Media' (aka: A2DP), or an automatic solution.
Anyone have any ideas?
Hello,
I want to extract the audio from my phone (the analog TV and FM/AM receiver mainly) and play it through my computer speakers. There is a headphone jack but it is of non-standard size (slightly smaller, probably 2.5mm).
Both my laptop and my phone support A2DP but for some reason the service (from the phone) does not show up while I add a new connection and the phone does not let me initiate a connection with any other profile except FTP (although it detects other services in the service list like A2DP and works perfectly fine with other profiles like DUN, HID, OPP, SSP if the connection is started through the computer).
I am currently using the latest version of the Toshiba stack, I have tried using WIDCOMM but it refuses to install drivers for both the internal Bluetooth and the USB Bluetooth that I use on my desktop. The standard Microsoft stack (generic driver) does install but it does not work with both of my devices as they do not detect any Bluetooth devices when scanning.
How can I make my phone detect my computer as a headset?
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I have a simple case:
- I have PX5 radio in car
- and Huawei Mate 20 Lite as a phone
Both devices are paired with bluetooth.
Since PX5 radio is full Android device that can run Google Play apps itself.
I would like to use bluetooth only for calling and as trigger for Tasker(start WiFi hotspot).
But since it is possible my phone sends also multimedia sound(but it won't be played on radio, since specific app for A2DP is not working - and I'm fine with that), I would like my phone to simply play multimedia itself, not via bluetooth.
I know it is possible in vanilla Android(https://fscl01.fonpit.de/userfiles/6983662/image/androidpit-lollipop-bluetooth-forget-w628.jpg) but since Huawei has it's "awesome" custom settings menu it is not there, do You guys have any idea how to change that settings?
ADB or any application would be great.
I'm not interested about any solution with root.
Apparently there is small "i" button on the right of paired device in bluetooth settings - not that easy to click(because when I tried to hit it for a first time I couldn't hit it correctly - that why I created that topic) - where You can change what sound is passed via bluetooth.
