[ROM]ODEXed CyanogenMod-7 EVO  Fried Green tomatoes TEST v0.92  [update 04.23.2011]
First and foremost, the credits:
*cyanogen and crew for CyanogenMod
*aamikam for optimizing the system and apks
*aamikam for being a smart cookie
*jubeh for the proper dexopting order (slightly different for gingerbread)
*evoKings for sending me on this project
*XDA and community
*Sprint for Evo
*HTC for Evo
*Google for AOSP
*others...
Secondly:
This is 100% Stock CyanogenMod v7.0.0 as found here. All that I have done is dexoptimized it to reduce boot time and allow for a more optimized system because the odex files are preloaded and do not utilize dalvik.
A few release notes
*You are responsible for your own actions
*This was a project done by request so please forgive me if there are any issues regarding this ROM
*I have done some extensive testing for a week before releasing this
*This rom can be used as base for other developers (in fact, it was evokings who wanted an odex base. Eyes peeled for acs and company)
*Existing themes may or may not work (untested), but will defeat odex nature of rom
*This is for the EVO
*This is completely experimental and simply for fun
*I am not affiliated with cyanogenmod and company. Again, this is just for funsies

I will indeed give it a try, Tommy. As always, you are appreciated for your work and dedication. Thank you, my friend....

Hate to sound like an idiot but a little more clarity around this please:
"and allow for a more optimized system."
Also, would themes created for CM7 work on this version?

Will download and see about these tomatoes...hahaha

This is why I love this place, doing what is supposed to be impossible, reodexing roms. I'm not a cm fan, but thanks for your hard work on accomplishing this feat.

nice work ! i take it the gps bug is still around ?

Sweet. I love your mods for MikRoms and CM7 is a beast of a ROM. This is like a match made in heaven.
One question though, you never really answered if themes work....

I am not familiar at all with cm7. This was a project another dev asked of me. So if there are gps issues in cm7 stock then there will be in this one i guess. I didnt modify anything.
As for themes , i havent tested any myself. They may or may not work. I know for sure that old themes will most likely be deodexed though so that will defeat the purpose of odex...in that case just use the regular cm7 to avoid issues.

Still having homescreen lag + notfication bar lag. I wonder when it'll get fixed, I think aosp managed to totally iron out the popup dialog animations a few builds back, but I think it came back.
I wonder what it is that does this? Anyone else who's experiencing the same, feel free to chime in, this time I'm looking to see if we share something common about our phones.
(This is in comparison to Froyo)
RC2 already! That was really fast!!
I know the camera quality has been an issue in all the nightlies thus far. Is this release any different?

I used cyanogen mode with tiamats latest kernel for about 3 days. wasn't impressed by the battery life. But it was pretty speedy except for the delay in screen on and screen off (not animations the actual turn off). I was wondering if that is fixed and so is the 1kb mms issue? Also I miss the sense keyboard D: and browser lol.

I think its cooked in, and you really do not need a partitioned card for aosp roms, cm has an option of moving all apps to the sd card anyways. So you should be good.
EDIT: Didn't mention this but I've never tried using dta2sd on any CM rom so if anyone cares to shine a light on this please...

I couldn't get beta 4 to work but v2.7.5.2.1 is working fine for me the ROM I'm almost 100% on this has its own built in a2sd if your partitioned but by default it moves all your app/data/ cache to the partition if I'm way off on this someone can correct me.
I like dta2sd cause I like to keep data and cache on the internal memory since I never seem to have a low memory issue and it just seems faster to me.

Installing now on the Evo and Nook Color. Thanks to the dev team!
So far my only complaint is with the ring lockscreen. I think it had a cleaner look without the arrows. Other than that everything is great.
So far...
So far so good. All in all it seems pretty stable except for one classic problem that no ASOP rom has ever resolved, *it still wont cook me dinner* jk, the screen wake issue still persists. already experienced it a good 5 to 7 times and i'm only in the 20hr mark since its release.
leave the phone off for an extended time period (1hr+), try to wake, hit or miss success rate.
Tested on three EVOs all with the latest radio/firmware/etc. revisions and HW ver.003

The current buglist:
- Recording in HD Video is limited to 720p currently.
- Camera zoom is limited to 2X.
- Certain browser issues, such as reported crashes and flash 11 movie compatibility issues. (CyanogenMod).
Other than those (relatively) minor bugs, this rom is perfect.
New Changes
- New release SelfKang1.
- All the good stuff in CM 7.1 / AOSP 2.3.7. I suggest looking at the official changelog for more information.
Please note flashing someone else's kernel may ruin your experience with this rom and I advise against it. This rom was a joint effort between Kmobs, Bumblebee, cretin45, toastcfh, defer, myself, and the rest of the CM team.

The official recovery was the first thing I flashed.
Odd that this would be necessary, but it appears your suggestion was spot on. Never had to do that for any of the other devices I've got running CM7. Thanks!

[MOD][gapps10/12][JB4.1.2] GA-RPR v2.1.2 - 10/12/12

As many of you have already found, I have been releasing some repackaged versions of the gapps package with some of my own personal tweaks (which are are almost all just other mods by other much more qualified developers than I!).
Disclaimer shamelessly stolen from TopProspects Official CM10 Nightly thread:
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this MOD
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at any of us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
* Collectively, and at the same time.
*/
To that end, here is what the package includes:
gapps 10/12 by Formula84
AGPS Patch by crypted (Google specific No-SSL v3.1)
Win7 Nexus boot animation originally by Nighthound, I haven't found who made it portrait for non-tablet users.
Silent camera and camcorder, base OGG from here, but the site appears to be down.
Adblocking from ROM Toolbox
HDMI fix (build.prop mod only)
Please make sure to go to the respective threads and thank/donate to the developers, they are far more worthy than me. Especially for the AGPS patch, please donate to crypted as he is providing actual services to us, for free, that he pays for out of his own pocket. Also, and I have no affiliation with the developer, please consider buying ROM Toolbox Pro, it is a fantastic program and provides so much benefit, at least to me, that I felt I had to promote it!
Download link (same file at both links):
Goo.gl
Direct link
Installation:
Simple. Flash after you install your ROM, preferably in the same flash session. I have only used it with CM10, so I can't speak to other ROM's. It should work fine on any CM10/AOKP based ROM that doesn't already include any gapps. I would recommend against using it with Slim or Superlite, since this will add a lot of 'bloat', but that's your call.
Bug reports, and feature requests are welcome!
Change log:
v2.1.2
- updated base with 10/12 gapps/JB 4.1.2 base
v2
- Initial release with 09/29 gapps/JB 4.1.1 base
First again
Thanks
Nice!! Second...
Quick question.. would these be compatible with the cmupdater? As I understand the updater script backs up gapps and restores them so I am guessing these won't be compatible?

Good question, not sure, I haven't tested it. I use my own nightlies, and it's been working fine with those.

No, I don't think so.
Anyone running this successfully with CM9?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is for JB only right (ie CM10)?

Dont do it! Breaks things.
Updated OP with new release, based on 4.1.2. In my limited testing, nothing is broken.

I'm using 2.1.2 with Orthus 5, (AOKP with 4.1.2). Works great, no issues... Works better than the 7.26 gapps that everyone seems to be recommending.
I've been using this AGPS fix and ad blocking for a while now... Always had to install separately, glad to have it all in one package now! Thanks!
Do you mind if I link your stuff in other OPs?
Glad you find it useful, I did the same thing, flash rom, flash gapps, flash agps fix, flash boot animation, etc, so I made it all in one and figured others might find it useful.
Sure, post wherever you want, just make sure you link to this OP so everyone knows what's what.
Thanks!
Any chance you'll repackage with black (inverted) gapps ie: email, gmail, voice, mms? Just curious i love the idea of all in one adder but love black themes just food for thought

Possibly, but it's a lot of work, and that also depends on if someone produces an inverted apk for a particular app. I can't/don't have time to do it myself.
Can't download from either link on my phone.
