T-Mobile G1- Switching back to 1.1

I download unofficial android 1.5 rom. Is there any way to go back to Model number: T-mobile G1, Firmware: 1.1 rc33 update. Its not working when I use stericsons rc33 default update. Plz help
What's your reason for going back to 1.1? Personally, I couldn't see myself going back, unless it was a definite emergency (which is why I still have the RC33 nandroid backup). Speaking of such, did you make a nandroid backup from when you were on RC33? You could use that to go back.
I didn't make a backup actually I'm waiting for the official ota update... mine is gettin 2 many bugs... btw can u tell me where u got ur 1.5?
also... i have on my recovery utility: Alt+B - nandroid v2.1 backup (courtesy of infernix and branaid) will this work?

Yeah, that's the backup utility, I believe most of us have.
I got my firmware from Haykuro, I'm using his 5.0.2G version:
http://sharebee.com/e74c5a37 (http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/)
I was running Dude's .08 before, but I haven't decided if I want to go the 1.5 ADP-based builds both Haykuro and Dude have.
What firmware are you running? What bugs are you experiencing?
Well I'm running 1.5 firmware rite now there is.a youtube video by anthonymoreno24 I got my update from there... anyway ur telling me that if I activate the nandroid backup I will back to 1.1? Or 1.0? (1.0 firmware was on my g1 when I first got it)

[ROM][STOCK] --- Version 4.22.651.2 --- Odexed & De-Odexed ---

In order to cut down on the confusion I created a new thread for the latest update. Version 4.24.651.1 can be found here.
Stock 4.22.651.2 ROM, rooted and ready for your flashing pleasures. This is a completely stock ROM that has had nothing done to it outside of rooting, zip aligning and de-odexing. As always, create a nandroid before flashing.
Notes:
-The Firmware (Radio, WiMAX and PRI) can be flashed by renaming the file to PC36IMG, placing it in the base folder of your sd card and then turning the phone on while holding volume down.
-Odexed means faster first boot and smaller memory footprint but is not themable, de-odexed means a long first boot and slightly larger memory footprint but can be themed.
Stock Update
Stock ROM with SU Fix - No Wipe Needed If Coming From A Stock Sense ROM:
4.22.651.2 Rooted & Odexed - updated 06/05/11

Everything below is from the previously leaked test ROM, not the update that just came out.
These are flashable copies of the rooted stock 4.12.651.1 ROM for the Evo. The only things that have been changed from the leak is the boot.img has been unlocked and SU & busybox have been added. You can find the partition folders these were made from in the original thread here.
Screen filter from the market can be used to adjust brightness for those with novatek panels. (Thank you to whoever posted about that first, sorry but I didn't catch who that was)
If you are already using a Sense ROM you should be ok wiping the dalvik-cache and flashing over top of it. Otherwise you will need to wipe your Data partition.
ROM only without the Radio
Stock 4.12.651.1 odexed (MD5 19752F454802D44EAAF22C0276E95F67)

Brightness fix
The kernel in this leaked version is unfinished, there's no code for the brightness change for Notatek LCD screens. Brightness Is Only working for people with Epson LCD screens.
For those of us with Notatek screens, just replace the stock kernel with the stock HTC #15 from the latest stable update:
HTC kernel #15
Problem solved. Brightness now works.
Please add to OP!
Update: Make sure you wipe cache and dalvik cache after you flash that kernel, otherwise you will likely get a bootloop or black screen.

That #15 kernel doesn't work for me, it just boots to a black screen. The same result has been posted by several other nova evos, in other threads. Also Netarchy's kernel's are reported to work, but I get the same results (black screen, battery pull)

Hi,
I have run Recuva over my file system. I could not recover the sbf, but the file name, modified time and size were found.
They match perfectly the file I downloaded from mpieq.
Cheers, as far as I'm concerned that is the real thing.
Olly
Works great! Thanks very much.
Now then... who is going to produce a theme so it looks like leaked / 2.3.3 that wouldnt work with the unfortunate green camera devices?
Andy
Was on early 2.2.1 - wanted to upgrade in case of warranty issues.
Flashed with RSD Lite. New Red Motorola logo with white rings when phone starts, but had to pull battery and re-boot manually.
Phone is upgraded with all contacts, settings etc as before.
Just had to root phone with superoneclick to get Titanium back-up and SetVSL running.
30 mins start to finish. Many thanks

You're luck. After upgrade mine boot up but with all settings and apps restored, however it after rooting it wasn't stable. Got to do factory reset and... for a first time used TiBu to restore my apps - works flawlessly . The only issue was the lack of Polish Swype (got it with Eclair) but used the one from CEE ROM and it works flawlessly.
mine simply has lost his Haptic Feedback... it must be restarted to gain his capabilities restored. is losing also his WiFi (with error message in wifi and network settings) and the data connection...
any ideas? could be from the JuiceDefender wrong resources management?
I am on motorola defy with formware version 2.51.1. If I upgrade to this will I lose my root, if I lose root can this be rooted by SuperOneClick.
Does it have blur is without Blur, I ma looking for something without Blur.
With Blur or without Blur?

This ROM is blurred. I flashed it over 2.2.1 (the UK 3.4.3-11 ROM), which I had previously successfully rooted via SOC (in fact, an older version, from months ago), but, as, at first, for strict test purposes, I decided not to wipe anything at all after flashing this ROM, the root condition (just like all my applications and settings) was kept as it was before. My Defy is in this very state ever since.
By the way, I haven't noticed differences between the two ROMs.
Just my 2 cents...
Regards,
Carlos
i have installed the full sbf
no problems with haptic feedback.
all looks fine and smooth..blur is also working nice ..even you can skip the setup.
just the 3g gets stucks up when the phone is idle..(the "H" is shown but the arrows ↑↓ are greyed out ..i have to reconfigure the apn and set it again to get it working.
Guys ne thoughts on this 3g problem..?? i have used defy baseband to switch my baseband for india.
EDIT :: solved the problems....i think this is problem free blur rom so far ...!! kudos to motorola uk..!!
note :: i didnt download from any links given here..i had some other source.
Their is some problem with the link? I have tried to download 3 times, but corrupt file...
If I wanted to go from the Korean 177 base sbf with cm7 rc1 installed to this what would be the procedure? Is it as simple as doing it through rsdlite or through the 2nd init recovery?
Thanks

[ROM] "Semi-Official" 2.3.4 rooted "stock" for P999 devices - LG Camera update

[ROM] "Semi-Official" 2.3.4 rooted "stock" for P999 devices - LG Camera update
Update: November 6, 2011 @ 9:43 p.m. ICT
LG Camera added. I have ported the LG Camera from the P990 2.3.4 build and as far as I can tell it is working perfectly. Below is a flashable zip updater for CWM. It clears the Dalvik Cache so the reboot will take several minutes. Enjoy! Note: The front facing camera (FFC) is inverting the video. At the moment there is no fix for it. If you need the FFC for video chat, etc. please keep the stock camera app.
Updater to add LG Camera to JB 2.3.4 rom
Download link: http://www.multiupload.com/MK1C5U055A
MD5 checksum: 4bf6bbdaa14584783ee5b4f2f927b7f
Note: If you want to access LG Hidden Menus on this rom you need to enter 1809#*95# into the dialer since the rom was ported from an LG-L95G device (the hardware is identical to the P999).
UPDATE - November 5, 2001 @ 19:58 ICT
Version 6b uploaded. Should fix issue of rom not being rooted OOTB.
UPDATE - November 4, 2001 @ 20:28 ICT
Version 6a uploaded. Modified framework-res.apk to remove Tracfone default apn for T-Mobile and Simple Mobile users.
UPDATE - NoveMber 2, 2001 @ 10:38 a.m. ICT
Links for version 6 are below. Major changes are power up and down animations changed to stock LG (no carrier branding) and MobileHotspot and USB tethering are now working.
UPDATE - October 31, 2011 @ 1:14 a.m. ICT
This is a rom made from official LG 2.3.4 from an LG-L95G, which is the same hardware as the P999 but made for Tracfone. I rooted it, added the Recovery 2X rebooter and other changes to get it working on the P999 and rebrand it it T-Mobile, rather than Tracfone. Known issues are listed below (very few). The rom appears to be very stable (so far no reboots of SODs).
Everything is now working, including wifi. This is based on a ROM built by LG for the Tracfone lg_l95G (same hardware and partitions as the p999), so it is essentially "stock" 2.3.4 for the P999 devices.
Flash using Clockwordmod Recovery (must be installed first) and the first time you flash it I would sugget a factory reset, clear Dalvik Cache (advanced in CWM) and format the system (mounts and storage in CWM). Any revisions flashed will just require a wipe of the Dalvik Cache to be safe, as you should do for any changes to any system file. This rom uses the ext3 file system.
P999 2.3.4 rooted stock v. 6b
Download link: http://www.multiupload.com/3GHWHREW44
MD5 checksum: 8c7da08102f328df9be61e4382713e1f
Flash with Clockworkmod Recovery (needs to be installed first). Wipe everything and format your system the first time you flash. If you are updating you just need to wipe the Dalvik Cache between flashes.
Kernel experimenters
Here is a flashable zip to restore the 2.3.4 kernel and wireless.ko so you can play around with kernels and flash back without resorting to a full nandroid restore.

Simple Mobile Version of v. 6b
This has an apns-conf.xml for virtually all worldwide carriers, which the exception of MCC=310, MNC=260 will set the APN automatically for Simple Mobile settings, rather than T-Mobile's settings. I feel for you guys.

Known Issues:
Om T-Mobile you are connected but no carrier name in notification pull down. Other carriers are shown.
Swype keyboard not working when text is swiped. Can only be entered one letter at a time.
Original Post:
I have made an experimental ROM using Android 2.3.4 built by LG for the LG-L95G, which is the same hardware as the P999 built for Tracfone (Simple Mobile). It has not been released yet but an XDA member who has one imaged his ROM. I have based this ROM on this and the rooted OTA ROM made by Xboarder. This rom should be rooted and has no TMO bloatware.
This is a flashable zip to be flashed in Clockworkmod Recovery. I would suggest wiping everything first to be safe. Please report back on whether it boots and how stable it is. I have not flashed it myself yet as my G2X is my primary device right now and I have not flashed it yet.
Caveat: This is experimental and buyer beware. As always I am not responsible if you brick your device, boot loop, etc. as you have been warned. This should be flashed by experienced flashers only. No NOOBS please!
I made up my own version number "GRJB54" and removed Tracfone's lame boot animation and put back the T-Mobile one. I also added back T-Mobile's ringtone (not default) for people that like it. Other changes I made was putting the flex provider back to T-Mobile USA, rather than Americamovil. Tracfone also had LG disable tethering in the build.prop. I re-enabled it.
Have fun!

2.3.4 has some security fixes from 2.3.3. Also starting with 2.3.4 you no longer have to log back into Google accounts when changing sims. This is my favorite feature of 2.3.4+ roms. When my Nexus One first updated to 2.3.4 I thought something was wrong because I changed sims and I wasn't required to log back into my Google accounts. I checked the Google Android forums and found out this was an intentional change on Google's part based on complaints from world travelers who were annoyed at having to log back into their accounts every time they put in a new sim.
Boots up just fine and it's a pretty plain vanilla Android installation with not bloat ... unless you consider Polaris Office to be bloat.
That said, it's telling me I have an unknown baseband. I can't get it to connect to T-Mobile or my wifi network. It detects my wifi network, but when I enter the password it won't connect. I tried re-entering the password to make sure I didn't enter a typo.
I'm restoring my backup just to be sure there's no permanent damage, and then I'll post a couple screenshots I took.

Did you try shutting it down and turning it back on. Sometimes you get that baseband error after flashing. Otherwise I will have to see what is going on. Maybe I need to put back the RIL files from the 2.3.3. build?
There should be no damage as the baseband is not flashed. Just the system area.

Yea, I shut it down, pulled the battery and SIM, reinserted everything and booted back up and still unknown baseband and won't connect to wifi.

I just checked out the ROM. It is missing files for the RIL (radio interface layer). I will put in the ones from the 2.3.3. ROM and hopefully that will fix the unknown baseband problem. I wonder how the Tracfone one had a baseband as all the RIL calls were commented out and files are missing?
ooh nice a new rom,
phburks everything ok? Uploading new version with missing RIL files added back in. Hope 2nd try is the charm. At least attempt 1 flashed ok and booted. That's a good sign. I had many attempts on my iMobile i858 (Yuhua Touchstone) that simply refused to boot based on changes I made to roms. Lots of others did work though.

All good here. My backup just finished restoring and everything works fine.
I'll watch for the updated version and download it a little later this morning. I have to go pick up my wife from work in a few minutes.
I'll upload those screenshots first though.

Cool. The missing RIL files would make a big difference. I still need to figure out how the baseband was working without these. Another member is going to post a Nandroid restorable file later today. Be interesting to see if have radio after flashing that. That will just be an exact copy of the LG-L95G rom. Not rooted and modded slightly like mine is.

Sounds great. It's fun to have something new to play with on this phone. lol
I do notice that the kernel version is still the same kernel that we've had since Froyo.
EDIT: Screenshots didn't post correctly. Here are the links to the photos.
EDIT 2: Screenshots still not posting correctly. Gimme a few minutes and I'll get em up.
@phburks - Your screenshots are not showing.
Edit: Your new direct links are not working either. (Sorry, that page was not found.)
Here is what the lame boot animation was. I changed it back to the T-Mobile one.
Here they are:
LOL. FULLOFVIRUSES. That should keep the wifi password hackers away.

How to create radio file?
We need
- full SBF file of firmware 350mb or 150mb in rar.
- programm MotoAndroidDepacker.zip
1) unpack SBF by MotoAndroidDepacker. unpacked file will go to the "name of sbf-extracted"
2) in the folder must be only CG45.smg (radio file) and two files firmware.hmg, RAMDLD.smg - this files need to create sbf
3) create SBF by MotoAndroidDepacker. file will be in "name sbf-extracted"/rebuilt
baseband is locate in \system\etc\motorola\bp_nvm_default
smg function we can see in MotoAndroidDepacker in the second insert "SBF", and then go http://and-developers.com/partitions:cdt
I dont get it. Not the instructions but the whole deal. English is not my native language and neither is his. Walter79 could you tell me what is this?

ACHTUNG!!! This **** can drive you to restoring backup, so make backup now!!!
This is all about radio module firmware(thing that responsible for cell network services), so after update it is likely that power consumption and stability(in terms of cell signal handling) would be better, but that is not guaranteed
These radio fw-s are in standard .sbf files, thus need to be flashed with vanilla flashing tool(RSDLite). Displayed radio version will not change because it is written somewhere else.

Worth noting that all versions after 4.5.1-134_DFP-74 has version 60 and radio version of 139 equals one in 132
How to get radio SBF from full SBF:
1) Extract SBF with MotoAndroidDepacker.
2) Delete all files except of CG45.smg (radio fw), firmware.hmg and RAMDLD.smg - last two is essential to make new sbf.
3) Assemble new SBF with MotoAndroidDepacker.
4) ??? (flash it!)
5) PROFIT!11
How to get/backup baseband settings:
Target files located in \system\etc\motorola\bp_nvm_default, so we need to get them from nandroid backup, also we can do this via adb, or root explorer...
To update baseband settings just replace files in folder \system\etc\motorola\bp_nvm_default of your device with previously acquired ones, this can be done manually or with CWM help.
With CWM it goes like this:
1) open View attachment baseband139.zip with some modern archivator
2) go to \system\etc\motorola\bp_nvm_default in archive
3) replace all files with other ones
4) ??? (install via CWM, dammit)
5) PROFIT!11
PS: Just translated from original and added some explanations.
um.... what's the different this method with baseband switcher?
i think baseband switcher is more simple and risk free.

Has anybody tested this new version? Any noticeable changes?
Okay, now I'm trying this method..
Just because I feel 3G connection caused somewhat unreasonable battery drain here..
Maybe radio files I'm using in was not suitable with area I lived in all this time.
Even after I'm changed baseband, baseband only affect the signal reception.
Hope this works.
Steps:
-Depack my regional SBF
-Delete all SMG's except CG45
-Repack SBF
-Flash the SBF
-Use same baseband as that SBF
is that right?
i don't know this is just placebo effect or not.
but it seems my battery much better now..

Well, I've just tried the sbf method with 4.5.3-109-DPP-14-Retail_China sbf (one of the -if not the- newest Defy+ sbf) and once flashed with RSD and rebooted, all the files under \system\etc\motorola\bp_nvm_default are identical as they were before [same file size and date].
So is it that my flashing didn't work or is it what you guys meant by "After install version radio will not changed, this version cantain's in another file"?
The baseband139.zip from d'H -for sure- changes those files [there's even one less if I remember correctly].
Since I've done it [2 hours to download the sbf..], I'm attaching the file; but like I said, I'm not sure if it works really...tbd
** This is NOT a CWM patch - the sbf has to be extracted then flashed with RSD **
I created a radio SBF from my stock froyo and flashed it over CM9. My GSM indicator turned blue almost instantaneously, where I previously battled like crazy to get a GSM data connection from home.
Thanks for sharing
Does anyone have an idea if it might help against the connection bug if I flash a radio + baseband settings from an official sbf?
BTW: how do I get hands on the baseband settings from an sbf?
thx

Hi, I live in Colombia. When I try to change frequencies with cyanogen baseband settings, the phone loses signal. I tried with basebandswitcher also, but didn't work, they didn't change frequencies and the phone lost signal. Do you know why? or what method can I use?
I have a Defy+ with cm9:
CM9-NIGHTLY-120516-Defy+.zip (Epsylon3 version)
With cm7 occurs the same.
The cellphone settings box says: WCDMA 900/2100 but i am trying to change it to 850/1900 (Colombia setting). Motorola Defy+ is QuadBand in HSDPA, right?
Could anyone explaine How do this work?
