[Q] Need help! - HTC Inspire 4G

i am completely new to inspire and now totally confused .. lol
i am new to htc and flashing radios. So i dont know how to check or upgrade a radio
i got this phone from another user here and it has kernel version 2.6.32.35 -cynogenmod -g0825ccb [email protected] #1
so is there any better version then this kernel.
i was planning to install ultimateDroid rom . its says LorDMod version is advised, is this kernel [KERNEL][20 APR]LorDMod V4.1 better then the one i have?
and how do i check what radio version i have ?
i have flashed roms though so i guess i am good for that part.
thanks!

I'm running ultimate Droid with that kernel and it is fantastic. Great battery and very fast. I have never flashed a radio so I can't be much help there. I've always uses the stock radio and had no issues. You can check your radio version in settings>about phone> baseband version.

Same happened to me! I think that recommended radio does not works very good with AT&T USA. Except for that, Excellent Rom! Very happy
PD - Incredible battery management
So... ACE ROM or LeeDroid...

What version are you using? 3.0.2 / 26.09.04.11_M2 is very good all around, I have had no issues at all....I am actually flashing back to it, because 3.0.3 isn't working very well in comparison ...At least for us Americans anyway

Latest Leaked Radio Version

What is the latest Leaked radio version for the TB. I see MR2.5, MR2.75 and MR3 but I cant get any version info or download links. Can someone point me in the right direction, and which has been good for most people?
Goto section VI of the Rom and kernel listing that is a stckie in the development section of this site. Click the link for Adryn's obligatory radio thread listed there.
I ran the MR2 radio with no issues whatsoever, and recently updated to the leaked alpha GB radio (.704). IMO, radio selection is trial and error - for example I had bad performance from the MR2.5 radio where others didn't.
Be sure to use a radio recommended on the OP of the ROM you stein running. All will list the radio there as well.
courtesy of my rooted bolt
because of the intermediate leaked versions which were thought to be the official MR2, and such, but ultimately were not.. I'm confused when people are calling the different radios by MR2, MR2.5, mr2.75, etc...
I really wish people would just call out the Radio code version, rather than anything else.
Some threads which may or may not be helpful, since their OP's haven't been updated since MAY -> [RADIO] The Obligatory Thunderbolt Radio Thread and -> [RUU] All known Mecha RUUs & OTAs (signed only) 5/16/2011
From "official ROM" stand point, I know the following...
ROM 1.12.605.6 with Radio_1.16.00.0223r Was the shipping version.
ROM 1.13.605.7 with Radio_1.16.00.0402w was the MR1 pushed by Verizon OTA
ROM 1.70.605.0 with Radio 1.39.00.0627r, 0.01.69.0625r was the MR2 pushed by VZW OTA on July 8. ("ROM" and Radio link -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160374 )
Chingy51o has acquired a newer GB ROM leak which also included radio "1.46.00.0704w_2, 0.01.76.0703_2r". The entire ROM/Radio hasn't been shared yet... BUT This radio has been stripped out and posted over on themikmik.com. It is the newest leaked radio I've seen to date. (you'll have to visit themikmik.com to get it... its in the Thunderbolt -> Development -> General -> Official section)... And the ROM part serves as the base for Gingeritis v1.2.

That's exactly the combo I was trying to run and it would only boot a quarter of the time. Is there something I should be doing first? Reflashing the ROM when I flash the radio? Wouldn't think I should have to.
I've ran the leaked radio a few times, and each time my wifi acts weird. I would have wifi connected, then randomly it would disconnect and say my home wifi is out of range, even though I'm sitting at home with my computer connected to my wifi.
No problems on the OTA radio, so that's what I'm sticking with. Just sharing my experience.
No, just sounds like you had a corrupted file. Try and dl everything again and try it again. On the 3d beta 2 version I was using the mr2 radio first for a week or so then flashed the new radio. So when I went to the new 3d build, beta 6, I already had the new radio

I had the same issue on first boot with gingeritis 3d VI. Actually bootlooped on me. Pulled the battery and it booted just fine after that. Was on the original Mr2 radio at the time. Since updated to his new leak. Been the best Rom I've run on my bolt so far.

If you read the directions he tells you this is likely to happen and tells you to hold the volume buttons and press power to reboot and then everything works.fine, and it never does it again. It happens to me with every version upgrade, don't know why, but after the reboot it never happens again and everything works fine. ****s rock solid for me, hella fast, super batt life.

Been running the .704 leaked radio with ging3r3dth3ory and its been great.
Ive tried all these leaked radio's and they are garbage in Connecticut. OTA MR2 has my SpeedTeasts at 10-15 MBs down and 5 MBs up. The leaked crap only gives me 0.3 MBs up or down. Especially that last one i tried 1.46.00.0704w_2.

[Q] Sensation with Revolution HD Glitch, please help.

I am running Mike's Android Revolution HD based on HTC Sensation "non-XE" HTC base ROM and am experiencing a strange glitch. I would have posted this in the developers section but I have under 10 posts.
I have a Rooted S-OFF Sensation running this ROM and it works very well, exept for one thing. When my TMOUS Sensation's screen turns off, I normally can just hit the top button and the unlock screen comes right up, but sometimes, the lockscreen does not come up and I am forced to pull the battery on my phone. This happenes about once every couple of days. I have tried wiping and reflashing to no avail.
Please help.

Hi,
Which ROM are you running, and with which kernel?
Clean install, upgrade, what have you wiped before you started.
You need to provide some more information,so that you can get the correct help.
Info
Mike's Android Revolution HD based on HTC Sensation "non-XE" HTC base ROM 4.1.6, I have tried wiping using Mike's Superwipe and reflashing this version (Newest version) twice, same issue, I am running 2.6.35.14-Sensation-faux123-v0.2.3r+ Kernel and my radio version is 10.58.9035.00p_10.15.9035.02_2. I flashed the newest radio listed for this ROM, oddly, it is suposed to be 10.58.9035.00u, I use T-Mobile so that could be affecting it.

Hi,
Thank you.
There are known issues with that kernel.
I suggest you try the latest kernel, which you can find in my signature.
Go into recovery,
Wipe your cache partition and dalvik,
Flash the kernel,(exactly like a ROM)
reboot and enjoy.
Flashed newest Faux Kernel.
I flashed the new kernel, and I also flashed your battery mod, looks great btw
One last question, isnt my baseband suposed to be U and not P? why does it say P despite the fact I flashed the newest one for this ROM? and will it negatively affect performance?

Hi,
Glad you like the mod.
Those letters in the radio just refer to the carrier, and do not affect the performance in any way.
Thanks!
Awsome, I really really apprechiate it.
Thank you!
hey shenoka.. how is it?
I am really annoyed with this rom... I used it for my desire hd and never had a problem with it.. since I started using it on my sensation mike screwed it up massively... He is too stubborn to use the bricked kernel which rips on the faux rubbish that he is using now. I switched over to insertcoin because of this massive stuff up. So many people have complained about it and it took him this long to fix it if he hasn't already. The faux kernel is a joke and has always frozen up and have to be rebooted on me even especially in the morning when u expect the alarm to go off but the stupid faux kernel doesn't think it should go off.
And this same problem was happening for me on the de version so it definitely has to do with the kernel.
Anyways enough of my frustration has been let off about this rom. How is the new 0.2.5.2 kernel? Because I know that the 0.2.3r was rubbish for me and still did the stupid screen not turning on. I'm not going back to this rom until I am certain that the kernel won't do this same thing again.
Also has anyone noticed that with this rom u also have to sometimes fight to turn off the screen because it turns back on when u only click the power button once? Doesn't happen on insertcoin.

Why so much hate for 2 devs that are giving their wares away for FREE? There are numerous posts (today & yesterday even) on the development thread discussing how this happens, the fact that yes it is the faux kernel that has the bug, and how to install bricked if you wish.
Your frustration is understood. Isn't it nice to have so many choices of ROMs/kernels for your phone for free? I think these devs deserve more respect.

Try to update to 2012 Baseband

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to update to the new baseband but everytime I run the fix my phone still says I have the july 2011 baseband. I am running Hellfire 1.8 and I tried to do it the way it says by flashing ROM, FIX, then GAPPS. but to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Guys I cant install the lg update tool. gets stuck around 10% then just stops. Im already having issues and I havent even gotten to the phone part lol help? tried rebooting laptop, running w7 64bit T420 8g RAM. I dont think its my laptop..
UPDATE: added screenshot of where setup gets stuck.
follow this thread. works like a charm. make a backup of your device first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248644
the steps in this thread will restore a stock gingerbread rom. when that is done, use nvflash and put the stock recovery back on as well
reboot your phone and do the update that way (over the air). look in About Phone under system settings and you will see a menu item at the top called software update (or something similar). use that to update your phone, you will end up with GB 2.3.4 and the new baseband
if you want to use a custom rom, eaglesblood build 4 has support for the new baseband built in or you can use CM7 RC3 or a currently nightly, or you can use either kwes or buru's roms, OR owain has a bb update zip that is supposed to work on any rom
good luck!
Sorry it just turned out that it was my jobs firewall that didn't allow the install to talk to the Lg servers. I got home and it worked so I now am running HFS 1.8 with the new baseband. Thanks for everyone's help on this.

The only thing I've tried through BT is tethering, as I dont use a BT headset, which works great. Call quality is clearer but not a huge difference. Data drops less often now though.

Try and get as many people to star that so perhaps the developers won't keep telling us it's "Hit or miss" and not a big issue.
I've had no luck with Bluetooth on new baseband but it works great on the stock 2.3.4 ROM from LG. Loaded with tons of bloatware to slow your phone down again.

i starred it and hope it gets fixed one way or the other and i agree, the new stock 2.3.4 works great and getting rid of bloat shouldn't be a problem however, just yesterday and today while running 2.3.4 my phone would just start getting really hot doing nothing but sitting in the holster, screen off, 4g off, BT off, wifi off, dont understand, but i put cm7 june 10 build on and now it doesnt do that
Yeah, I can run custom ROMs and all is well other than Bluetooth for call audio. My problem is I drive all day and have to use Bluetooth, so I'm stuck on stock
Hopefully it will get fixed.

Difference in radios? Can someone answer a quick question!

Hey guys, I just loaded CleanROM 4.5 RC1 and loving it so far. I noticed my baseband version if 2.23.707 now....where before it was 1.85. That's the radio right? What's the difference? I assume 2.23 is better? is their even a newer one still or is that the best?
I'm pretty good with this ROM flashing stuff, but don't quite get radios and the differences. Anybody care to help a newb?
2.23.707
2.23 is the HTC ROM version.
The ROM is a combination of drivers, firmware, applications and the operating system itself.
2.23 includes:
Radio - 0.19as.32.09.09_L_10.104b.32.25L
hboot - 1.14
kernel - 3.0.8-01564
Android - 4.0.4
Newer firmware for adsp, wifi and a whole heap of applications etc.
The HTC ROM version doesn't mean much device to device. Eg a One XL versus a One S.
The 707 is the region. 707 in this case is for Singtel Singapore.
502 would mean AT&T USA
841 Telstra Australia
708 Hong Kong (not carrier branded)
631 Rogers Canada
etc.
For the version they tend to relate across all regions. But mean more when following for just that region.
2.23.707 was intended for Singtel Singapore which previously had 1.88.707.
1.89.841(Telstra) may or may not be an newer or an improvement over 1.88.707.
This thread has a list of radios that were released with certain ROMs.

There is no such thing as a 2.23 baseband. You need to go back and look at the info again. You are confuising baseband with build number.
2.23 is the software build and release keys. The baseband would be .19 or .18 or something like that.
There is no radio in my ROM. I would never do that. Thats reckless. And if I did do it it would be noted in the op.
Baseband is a lot differnt than softeware build number, lol

And oops the radio thread was someone else! Stock firmwares thread is indeed maintained by Scott tho
If you got 2.23 from HTC it would include all parts of 2.23. Custom roms may only include hand picked portions.
Eg most custom roms only use the os, apps and kernel but not any firmware, like radio etc.

Apologies, your right, I was looking at the wrong version. 2.23 is the build version, not baseband.
Question though: my baseband version 0.17.32.09.12. After flashing CleanROM 4.5 RC1, my phone constantly switches between H and G, and in the about>phone info, it goes from HSPA to HSPAP to UMTS. This doesn't seem normal...it never did this before. SHould I flash a different radio to go with this ROM? Sorry if this is going off on more of a custom ROM tangent!
