So I've ran into some problems while modifying my LG Apex and now am in need of a stock ROM (I went into Clockwork Recovery and backed my old one up to my SD card, then lost all the data that was on my SD card =( ) But pretty much I was playing around with the software on it and during some updating with the LG updater tool, my computer bluescreen'd and now my phone just won't work. It boots up, gets to the "Welcome to Apex - Touch the android to begin" screen. It says I need to activate my phone, dials out to *228, and then won't do anything. The home and search buttons on the bevel also don't do anything when pressed. So if anyone knows where I can download a stock ROM, it would be greatly appreciated.
---NOTE: I am NOT looking for the ApeX custom ROM. I'm looking for the original US740 LG Apex ROM---
I would like to see this too
I also need to find a copy of the 2.1 system for the apex soo I can reflash the stock os

I screwed up my LG Phoenix P505. I rooted it, then i uninstalled a bunch of system default apps. i uninstalled the internet explorer, then my phone crashed. it does not start now. It is stuck at the LG screen or i can hold down the home key and switch to BOOTLOADER. I would like to learn how to flash a new rom on this phone so i can use it once again. Its Brand new... Does anybody know what I could do? I do not know where to even find a rom for this phone but if I have no options i could ask a friend with the same phone to back-up their rom for me... Please help me, I only got to use this phone for 1 day before i messed it up
if your machine has s-off, I think through hboot to flash third party of recovery,
after that you can be missing from the recovery flash file, or a new rom..
good luck
Before flashing any custom rom, did u try to perform an hard reset of the phone?

Hi,
I will prefix this (as there are a few people around with this problem who can get into recovery mode) with the fact that holding down Vol- on boot is not getting me to the recovery / bootloader screen.
I have a rooted HTC Desire S (rooted it nearly a year ago, so info about the hboot etc is a distant memory).
Anyhoo, I decided to have a play about with one of the ICS roms but it was a bit buggy and the camera drivers still aren't working for video so I decided to go back to Endymion V3.4 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1310845
I did a full wipe, installed base rom, installed optional addons and then upgraded to 3.4 - booted fine into the OS so set about getting my system set up the way I like it.
I noticed that endy came with a theme installer so clicked on one of them to have a look, it asked for root, said it was installed and would need to reboot to take effect...
SO
the problem is, it now won't boot and is stuck on the white HTC boot screen.
Holding vol+/- and power buttons reset it but it just ends up back hanging on the boot screen.
Have tried pulling battery and trying again.
Holding Volume Down when powering up is no longer doing anything
So, I either need a saviour to point me in the direction of a fix.. or a kindly sould to break it to me gently when they tell me my phone has gone to the USB Dock in the sky..
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
update:
After pulling battery again, pulling out sim and sd cards, booting with vol- held down, i got into recovery. Am going to try and flash a different rom after doing a full wipe, I'll update once it's done but any insights in the meanwhile will still be appreciated
Sorted, cleared the thing out, stuck reaper CM rom on it, rebooted and everything is peachy for now.
Thanks me
Curious if anyone knows why this might have happened?
because you didnt flash the addon zip which was released alongside endymon and then tried to use the addons,it does say on the screen do not use these unless you have installed the addons
Hi
I have a LG GT540 optimus. It was on 1.6, I used a tutorial to use a kdz to flash to 2.1 stock, then again to 2.1 fastboot, then used 2.3 cyanogen installer to upgrade to 2.3
I then realised I couldn't use an unlock code on a non stock ROM, so stupidly I used kdz manager to flash back to stock 2.1 without factory resetting or wiping data! Now my phone gets to the Android logo and bootloops, and I can't access recovery to do anything about it - holding down camera button and power boots normally and loops, as does power and home button.
Please can someone help, I'm really scared I've broken my phone and don't know what do to
Thanks a million.
I pulled my vortex out of storage the other day to tinker. It was rooted but fully updated stock 2.2.2
When I booted it up, it stayed on the boot animation 20+ minutes, until the battery ran out. I've tried booting it up again but it keeps bootlooping.
I figured I'd just flash a new ROM onto it, but I never put a custom recovery onto it and the only Vortex Recovery I found was this;
http://androidforums.com/getitnowmarketing/330813-all-one-recovery-thread.html
However, it says I need to do on-device commands and stuff to get it working, which obviously isn't an option.
Is there any other way you guys could think to resurrect my old Vortex? My Droid Charge is my phone now, this thing doesn't get much use anymore, but I'd still like to get it back in a usable form.
EDIT: FYI, already tried everything relevant in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1031596
If you flashed stock rom. Try hard reset.
Home+vol down / vol up+ power.
thank you! that button trick did the job!
EDIT:
well, it worked once, but the phone had been uncharged for a while so the battery died, and now i can't get the trick to work again >_<
is there a way to re-flash stock without a custom recovery?
Edit: I was misusing the term boot loop. Stuck at LG screen / CM boot animation.
Last night I rooted my phone, installed clockworkmodrecovery, and made a backup. I installed CM7 and all was more or less fine at this point from an OS point of view.
The SD card wouldn't mount, the brightness and volume were both way too low even at max, and there were other minor annoyances, so I decided to put things back the way they were while I did some more research and restored the backup I made.
This was apparently a bad idea. It's stuck at the LG logo permanently.
I can still access CWM recovery and have tried wiping everything it lets me wipe, restoring to factory, redoing the restore, reinstalling CM after a restore, and various combinations thereof.
With CM installed the boot animation keeps looping so I assume that's boot looping. I also assume the constant LG logo is a boot loop.
The screen never turns off though. Is it still a bootloop or am I misunderstanding anything? Any suggestions on what I can try?
Thanks.
Bootloop is when the phone won't start completely; it shuts off after a second or two. Stuck at LG should theoretically be cured by factory reset. Try doing that in cwm.
Or, long press power to shut down phone. Then hold volume down and power for several seconds. You should get a black screen with white text. Press power twice to confirm.

Factory reset through CWM still leaves me stuck at LG after restarting.
I assume the second part of your message was how to accomplish the same thing if CWM weren't installed, but Power+VolDn brings me to CWM.
Would the following link be a good start to try fixing it?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836
Looks like it to me, but figured I'd run it past somebody else before I just start making things worse.
I'm not totally sure how/if the two are different. The second option is 'factory hard reset.' Try holding vol down and then also press and hold power. It might take a few trys to get it right.
Xbsall's unbrick guide is for if you have a really bad brick from installing a wrong rom, etc. It does not sound like you have that. If the factory hard reset does not work, personally I would instead flash one of xbsall's rooted ICS files:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39269819
But that is just my take.
I'll assume you know what you're talking about and I'm just not getting it, but Power+VolDn is how I've been accessing CWM this whole time. If there's an alternate timing of pressing those buttons to get back to the other factory restore method, I'm not seeing how. CWM wipe / factory restore remains ineffective.
I've got the files from your last post downloading and I'll try the ICS route in a bit.
Thanks for your help so far.
Phone is up and running. Thanks a bunch, your tutorial was rather well done.
I wasn't able to use v1.1 of the flash tool as it wouldn't launch, but 1.2 worked just as well.
Super! You seem to be someone that can read and follow instructions
On my phone (xbsall's ICS) I access recovery by pressing volume down when keys flash during boot. FYI If you want to change from twrp to cwm, you can install cwm from the included 'P940 recovery' app included in the .bin.

@Wulf2k Hey, question... I have not set up a permanent Dev-Host account, so I am wondering:
Are the links for 'bag of goodies' and the P920 .dll still good?
I think they go dead if noone downloads for 30 days or something like that.
Every link was still active for me, I didn't have to find alternate download links for anything.
TWRP wasn't something I'd ever used before, but it seemed good enough for my purposes. Think I'll stick with it.
I haven't really looked into online storage of large files for a while, but have you considered Dropbox? I've used it for small stuff in the past and I don't think it disappears after a month.
