Change icon color

One of the reasons i love android so much is the ability to customize your phone. What id like to know is whether or not there is any way to change the color of the application icons?

Hello fellow Ontarian... I don't think you can just change the colour of the icons without extracting and actually making an icon pack with your edited icons. Once you do that, then you can use what I use to change the icons. I use Folder Organizer. There's also Bettercut. Here's an example of the icon pack I use.

BTW, no need to be rooted to change these icons.
Thanks man im going to give it a shot. Im trying to learn a bit more about apk files and fidling with them. But, just the same im glad there is an easy solution.

Where to get Notification Bar Icon Packs

Hey guys,
I know I can strip roms for the notification bar png icons, but I was wondering if anybody had a good location to just download them. I am of course using ninjamorph or metamorph to apply. I have looked at droid pirate, but just wanted some nice looking notification icons...
Thanks
Can't say I've ever seen notification bar icon packs.

Need help with theme for bionix

Ok i love the bionix rom i just dont care for the white status and dropdown menu so i used UOT kitchen to cook a theme and i tried flashing the. Zip with framework-res. apk inside through cwm but nothing changed so i just pushed it manually and did the same with twframework and everything changed and looked nice except the icons at the top of the notification dropdown menu look like the stock froyo icons but everything else in the dropdown menu looks the way it should. I also cant find where to change the dropdown notification icons in UOT anyways? There not even an option? You figure it would be under status bar mods but i dont see anything? Anybody know a solution?

Heres some pics!! just remember there's still a couple of things that still need to be adjusted but i can handle that i just need to figure out the drop down notification icon problem. Also i forgot to mention the time is missing in the notification bar?? It showed it in green text in UOT why doesn't it show up?
Probably because you set your time color the same as your status bar color

You can't change the color of the time in UOT Kitchen only the date I would maybe make the status bar green and your icons black.
And you can cook the twframework-res.apk and make your own drop down menu. Only change the status bar in uot kitchen and you will have to unzip it and rename it back to twframework-res.apk copy it then replace it in system/framework.

Are you taking about the battery and signal notifications?

ADW themes only change the home and app drawer icons. You would have to install a matching theme in CWM to change the notification bar. I have a honeycomb theme installed on mine for the system and then I downloaded the ADW Honeycomb theme from the market to match.
You have to flash a theme.

Are you rooted? If you are just install a transparant SE home, otherwise you could try another launcher from the market, (Launcher pro and Go launcher are the best imo)
I'm not rooted, yet... I've downloaded go launcher, works perfect! Thnx 4 the advice, didn't know about this app....

Do you also know if there's a way to make the top black bar transparent? Then I mean the black bar where the battery icon and the clock is... I'd like to see my wallpaper there as well...

Without root you cannot do that, you need to edit the framework-res.apk but you can set go launcher to be full screen, so you dont see the taskbar when you using the launcher
Got it! Thnx a lot! Hope to root my play tonight or the coming days...! Then I'll try the other method you mentioned...

i guess he is talking about dock
I know this is an old thread but I was wondering.....
I don;t really wanna use an aftermarket launcher, so is there a way to mod my own home.apk to have JUST a clear bottom tray??
I already have a UOT theme, and I don;t wanna have to mess that up, but would love to have the ICS button in the middle, and it be clear under it.
Thanx in advance, I know I can trust the people of the XDA XPlay forum
Open up the home.apk and delete the image which looks like the grey background in the res/drawable-hdpi/ folder and then replace the image which looks like the middle button with an ICS one... OR you can just replace your home.apk with the one from one of the ics themes.
You can change the color of the statusbar using Rom Toolbox [Root needed]
