Are there any places yet to get a reasonably priced spare battery for the G2x/O2x?
Sent from my Nook Color!
I just found this:
http://ioomobile.com/shopbybrand/872-momax-battery-for-lg-optimus-2x-p990-1400mah.html
I assume that an O2x battery would work on the G2x? I've used a Momax battery on my N1 and I get decent life out of it.
expansys us has one for pre order. 39 bucks i think.
here it is http://www.expansys-usa.com/lg-optimus-2x-battery-210068/
i personally wouldn't use anything other than an oem battery.
Good to know. I got two non original batteries for my Nexus One. One was a fake from DinoDirect that looked authentic but barely lasted half what it should have. But the Momax I bought from NCIX is so close to the original in performance that I usually forget which one is actually in there.

I'm interested too. Looking for "Optimus 2X" on eBay had no results.
Mugen's (www.mugen-power-batteries.com) working on a battery. Typically they're more amps than stock in the same form factor. They're more expensive than stock and better quality. They have a great reputation and I buy their batteries whenever I can.

What about this?

We've got another thread in here, that should probably be merged with this one, but a bunch of us are gonna start bugging Seidio to make a larger capacity battery for these. It seems like brand new, it has the standby and usage time that my year+ old Nexus one does.

Yep, I've gotten burned by fake batteries from eBay before, so be careful and only buy batteries with positive reviews.
I was a big fan of the Mugen I had in my G2, hopefully there is an 1800 mAh+ battery out in the near future.
Hey guys, is this any good? I was planning on buying this; http://www.amazon.com/Laza-Battery-Fascinate-Captivate-T-mobile/dp/B004AOAV56/ref=pd_bxgy_cps_img_a

The battery on the G2 looks almost the same as then one from the Touch Pro 2. Are they the same? I don't have my Touch Pro 2 anymore.
I did a comparison at the corp store. It's a bit thicker (you can feel with finger).
All you have to do is to flip the battery and cut the corner by the connectors, but the thickness may block the back cover even though it's 0.3mm thicker.
Good to know. The G2 might actually use the same battery as the HTC Eris and Dinc. Anybody can confirm that? I want to pick up a couple of batteries and a charger on ebay but don't want to pay a premium price just because they are listed for the G2 only.

Damn HTC , may wanna check the form factor of the battery it self.
I have a mytouch slide which has the same battery as the g2, 3.7v dc 1300mah
Thing is, not only would you have to flip it face side down to align with the pins, but the nub is backwards making the ass end of the battery stick out a bit too much, dunno what snappin that lil peace off would so as Im not a battery geek, and Im not sure how far the cells inside and its caseing are etc :\

Really if i last till 4pm that is like heaven for me. I have charger in my car and work but still i hate that i have to keep my phone on the charge all the time I will be looking for a 1800 battery to replace the OEM battery
Here's to that.
Haven't had my G2 long, but the few days I have I've been around 20-25% at 5pm. I take it off the charger at 6am when I head to work.
Used a 2300mAh in my G1 - it spoiled me!
So I'm guessing no one has any information regarding if there is any extended batteries for the G2 yet? I just got my G2 yesterday and I pulled it off the charger this morning at 6:30 a.m for it to be dead by 4:30 p.m. I definitely want something to last a little longer than that.
As far as I've seen, there aren't any extended batteries yet. But the phone did just come out. It's going to take the case/accessories/battery companies a few weeks to get stuff shipping, I would assume.
If the battery in the G2 is the same as the one in the Droid Incredible (I am just speculating, they both seem to have the same specs), there is a slim extended 1750 mAH from Innocell on the seidio website.

Don't waste your time with the Seidio extended battery. It is nowhere near the 1750 that it is rated at.
Take a look at this thread: http://androidforums.com/incredible-accessories/98877-seidio-liar-liar-your-pants-fire.html
I can confirm that the Dinc battery does not fit into the G2, due to the tabs built into the corners.
Edit: you would also have to put the Dinc battery in upside down to align the contacts.

I remember reading somewhere that the G2 battery is the same model as the HTC Wildfire battery. Of course I can't find where I read that now. Does anyone know if that's true? I hope so, since G2 batteries on eBay are $30, whereas Wildfire batteries are only 5 bucks.

Actually, upon searching ebay for "HTC vision" batteries Wildfire batteries kept popping up in the titles. Given that there's already extended batteries for the Wildfire that don't seem to be out of proportion, I'm thinking I'll be the guinea pig on this one.

Let us know if it fits! If so, what the difference in MaH is as well as real-life percentages please! I'd love to have a slightly bigger battery, just so I can make it through the day with WiFi on all day...
Superfly has reported in the battery thread in General that he is using a Seido from the Incredible. He is reporting nothing but goodness about it. He did have to slighty trim a corner to get it to fit though.

go to amazon.com they have some battery with charger for $120 for the LG G2x which is probably the one they are talking about. i didn't read the the ad but the picture doesn't look like an extended to me though. No battery is worth $120 for a cell phone unless it never would need to charge again! lol. or would work on every cell phone maybe....

I did buy some extended batteries a while ago from ebay for my last phone. What I did was email some of the buyers of the battery and asked them about it.. But, recently I noticed some 1600mah batteries for sale on ebay for the g2x. I emailed a buyer.. he said "stay away".. He said it was only holding a charge for something like 1-2hrs.
Also, I can't get a battery w/a replacement door. I love my Body glove case.. There's no way I'm ditching it for a replacement battery. They'll have to come out with an extended battery that's the same size and like 1750mah for me to buy it.. Plus, who wants to take it out of the case constantly to switch to a backup stock battery. Not this guy.
Yeah that one for 120 is redic. I would love one that made the backing flush with the cam and maybe 2000mAh. People's cases would probably still fit as well. As long as it wasn't a hard plastic one.

Great! Thanks for the link. This is exactly what I've been looking for. You all gotta remember that these new cell phones are true personal computers literally, but since battery technology hasn't advanced much in holding capacity we need to accept this. I for one would rather have a functional device that's practical, rather than cosmetic form factor that only looks good, but can't even hold a charge for an 8 hour work shift. Even HTCs t mobile shadow, when it came out 4 years ago had horrible battery life, everyone complained and then t mobile gave every shadow owner a free extended battery through the mail. Even though it bulked up the phone, the HTC shadow was now practical and a dream to use. hopefully tmobile gets a lot of complaints on the g2x battery life and sends us all a free extended battery too. But for now I'm glad to know I can purchase this one. If anyone already has this mugen one please post a review. Thanks
Anybody have any luck with extended batteries? If so what is a good brand to get and where from?

Yes, but is it better than stock? I highly doubt it's actually 1800mAh. If it is, then the Chinese have turned into wizards.
I am currently using these. I just started using it, so not sure how different it will be. I will let you know.
The reviews are kind of hit and miss
I seen one on ebay where you remove the battery cover, and it was a case too. with like a 3500ma or so.
But I like my Otterbox to much.
I'm using an Anker 1600mAh from Amazon. It's noticibly better than the stock battery, but it takes a week of overnight charging to get the most out of it.

I bought an Anker Slimtalk external battery for mine. Going pretty good so far. I can top up my battery when it goes too low in the evening.
I bought an Anker 1600 mAh and actually performs slightly better than stock battery.. maybe It's the Rom maybe not... Because with ICS I got 23 hours with stock and 18 with Anker..

They seem to be the same exact battery, just someone got wise and decided to put brand name on it and double the price lol. Of course I've only had one to test but it scored nearly identical with one of my Generic fatt batts.
There seem to be stronger contenders from both flavors (Generic or Hyperion). One one hand there's word of mouth (Hyperion) and one the other there's actual testing (Generic) but if people could send me some *preferably newer* Hyperions, then we can let the data tell us the answer we're looking for
What I REALLY want to test is a Seidio because I'm betting it will perform similarly and I just want to show people how bad of an investment they are.

I don't have the highest of hopes for it personally (capacity wise) but I believe it'd fit just fine since the OEM Epic Touch battery fits our phone. The Epic 4G's batteries are just a smidge longer/thinner and the Epic Touchs are a little thicker/shorter so maybe our OEMs may not fit there phones but if the 3rd parties match the OEM Epic Touch size dimensions I don't see how it wouldn't fit a regular Epic 4G.

You probably get what you pay for, but here's the link anyway:

Anyone want to give this a shot?

This doesn't seem like a run of the mill chinese cheap battery. Packaging looks very professional and the company itself has amazing ratings. I would say this is a pretty safe buy. Its a company that designs the batteries in canada.
And with amazon you're well proctected. Ebay tends to always back the buyer up as well, but I always felt amazon was more legit. I have no need to ugly up my phone with a massive battery, nor do I need the extended time (stock battery suits me fine) but for someone that can't shell out a lot of money this seems like a solid deal

Yes and no. I bought a Mugen from amazon, and everything went fine. It died after about 3.5 months, and Mugen wouldn't replace it because I didn't buy direct from them.
So, most reputable companies who sell direct on amazon are OK. Mugen doesn't sell direct, so avoid them on amazon.
I'd like to see how badly this battery bulges out the phone. I've seen pictures of the galaxy note with this battery, and it looks... big.
I'm willing to test it out. I placed the order and I'll report back once I get it.

That's probably the exception. I've never had a bad experience when returning an item through Amazon.
The reviews for the Galaxy S2 battery are pretty good.
And there's tons of S2 users out there. So I highly doubt this company makes crap batteries

I'm telling you, the Mugen pays for itself. Especially if you have the CM9 Alpha builds.

Hmm... I don't see any reviews for the product. I'd buy it but the price worries me for how cheap it is. I mean... I like cheap, but... there are no reviews to be found which worries me.
Here is my thing about batteries. Last summer when I was on the hunt for an amazing lipo battery that would make my rc car run the fastest, coolest, longest right. Well them batteries were about 60 bucks, but what I had found through my research was there were only about 4 companies world wide who produce lipo-cells, so why waste 60 bucks when I could get a 2-cell for 12 bucks. Well it only lasted the summer because I wasn't very responable with it but its perfomance was on par with the more expensive batteries and so was temp ect. It don't have to cost the most the be effective, sometimes I feel this blacknightavalon works for mugen, because I promise you people 100 for a phone battery, they seen you coming

And yeah, I've no doubt Mugen makes good batteries. But the fact that you *must* buy from them and nowhere else in order to get any sort of service makes them a bit shady.

I would never move to f**king China. Not unless they got rid of their Maoist regime. No, I just know a good battery when I'm using one, and I think the Ankers are pretty good too (as long as you order the two-pack with the wall charger).
The battery cover in the Amazon picture is clearly not for a MT4GS, but maybe it's just the stock photo they use for all this company's batteries.
Anyhow, for $20, I took a chance.
The company as a whole seems to make quality batteries, so I doubt they would skimp on our phone. And it is an actual company, not a "no name generic" battery. And as I said before, if you look up batteries for other phones from the same company, they generally have great reviews
Good point on the picture. That battery cover does not seem to fit our phone, which means the picture is a stock picture.
im confused, i googled mugen battery and 2 different links come up. not sure which is the official link.

Just got it in. The pic on Amazon is a file one. This battery and the cover will fit, but it's charging up right now. I'll test it tonight.

Could you post pictures when you get it all set up?
Personally, I'd go for a slim extended battery if they offered it, otherwise it won't work with the dock. Still, if this works well, for 20 bucks it's a no-brainer.

I've been looking for a cheap extended battery since I ditched the G2. I had a $15 3500mAh eBay battery on it and it worked just fine. I'll probably order this after I hear what y'all have to say about it.
