[Q] Tiamat 1.3 / sd card problem - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First off big thanks to bigrushdog , jbrew78 , jwtyler & stevenege in the dev section , respect to the max !
ok , i've gone the "1 click" route to unlock/root my wi-fi xoom , read all the posts first in the 1click thread in dev , worked a treat !
read all the posts in dev / "Tiamat Xoom 1.3.1 SD Card Plays Nice With Gallery" then
used an updated "1 click" with Tiamat 1.31 to only update Tiamat, sd card works but is not seen in music or gallery.
I understand that sdcard2 should be inside sdcard but how do I do that?
UPDATE
after re-reading lots of posts i've realised I may have used tiamat 1.3 and NOT 1.31
thanks

You will also have to create a new folder directory called sdcard2. You must do this before flashing to the 1.3.1 kernel as it states in the instructions for the kernel. You can do that using apps such as astro or root explorer.

sorted !
yep that was it , used 1.3 before ! stupid me
all good now , thank again to all the folks in the dev department ((-8

[Q] USB Watcher troubles

Hey everyone,
I hated to post this here, but apparently I'm too newbish by xda standards to post in the related xoom dev thread.
I followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068999
Using Clockwork I flashed the attached kernel (Tiamat 1.6ghz w/ UMS) and installed USB Watcher from the app store. I get a notice that the usb cable is attached, but when I select "Turn on USB Storage", the notification icon spins for a minute then stops. No sign of storage on my pc.
I had missed the attached kernel the first time I installed 'Watcher', so I am not sure if that may be the cause.
Any thoughts?
You don't need app watcher to access your SD. When using Tiamat kernel on HC3.1 your data will be at sdcard/external. Did you flash the new boot image before the kernel? Also, XDA may be right about you being too newbish to post in the dev section since you apparently did not read the sticky about NOT posting questions in the dev section.

I did see that it mounts to /external after a little more exploring. I just wanted to mount the sd card to my pc to upload larger files. But with an sd card reader that is not a major task. I have not switched boot images, only kernels.
I didn't see to not post questions to the dev forum, so that is my bad. I'll be sure and read that sticky. This xoom is the first android device I've had I could really delv deeply into. My Fascinate is a bit more complicated, thank you Samsung. =p

Honeysense 6.2.1 & 6.2.2

Ok so I got 6.2 working just fine love the look ofvthis Rom but text doesn't show up unless I highlight it I read this is fixed with 6.2.2 but I can't get it to work nor 6.2.1. Boy, you sure write loooong sentences. Periods and commas really do add to the readability of a post.
I assume the honeysense thread provided no insight?
Lol sry I'm on my cell and I text alot. So I deff did not format my card right the first time, as I went back and did it again. I formatted it with mini tool partion wizard to ext4. When I got done it wouldn't let me move my files I had on my SD card which were in fat32. My phone won't detect the ext4 format I just did anyway I'm running honeysense 6.2 right now stock radio how do I format right to ext4 then get my apps back
Hope that's better

I see you found the honeysense thread and asked over there. I believe someone answered you with what appears to be a helpful reply.

Just out of curiosity, did you Root your device? If yes, did you use a WI-FI only image? If you have not Rooted your device, maybe give some more information on the device specs to allow us to help you out even more?
Yes my Xoom is rooted. I'm using Tiamat 2.0 Rom and Tiamat Tachi Kernal

I am guessing you used this forum for the Download of your ROM for your tablet -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146153 -- and while reading it, I noticed that there are many times that solarnz says things like:
Version 2.0
Rebased off the 3.2 wifi image.
3G Support on Android 3.2
sdcard is now at /mnt/external1 and is viewable via MTP
Any application that can write to /sdcard can now write to /mnt/external1
usbOTG drives now mount at /mnt/usbOTG and act identically to the sdcard.
Now comes with the Katana 2.0 stock GPU kernel.
/MicroSD and /usbOTG synlinks to their respective locations in /mnt
Automatically modprobe all kernel modules, apart from the wireless module.
New wallpaper & charging icons
And this gives me the impression that you are maybe using a 3G Verizon Version of the ROM. I would suggest that if this is the case, you should change your ROM to a WI-FI only ROM. You obtained the Update when Verizon pushed out their latest update for the 3.1 ROMs.
Please Correct me if I am wrong on the specs of your device and I will help you as much as I can... I, too, have a Wi-Fi only Xoom tablet and just recently rooted it from 3.2 Stock From The Box to 3.2 Stock Root using this method -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1170760 -- and has been working for me in the last 48 hours
I hope I helped you some, and if I did not, please let me know and I will still try and help you till the problem is fixed (or someone will come in and help )
Thank you very much!!! I didn't think I would be able to get that update cause I have WiFi only Xoom. I thought that OTA update from Verizon was over 3G or 4G network. I'll check out the link you used. I'm not too good at this. I just know how to flash roms, kernals, and themes. I paid someone to root my Xoom. Since my Xoom is rooted can I just flash a WiFi only rom or do I have to follow all the steps on 2nd link u posted?

You are quite welcome ^_^... The stupid OTA updates for Verizon push out over wifi and (have been a vain in my dev rooted phones that do not have verizon accounts attached to them) haha!
You should be able to push a rom following the steps on the forums if you have Clockwork's ROM Manager (FREE in the market place) and TRUE Super User Access (AKA Super User App to test this out). All you need to do is place a few files in certain locations and wala, you have a WI-FI only Rom installed and ready for you to use ( I would note, that you should back up your apps and files and such on the internal memory, JUST in case you want your information that you have on it now again heh...) There are many apps for the bookmarks and such if you need that kind of backing up, but make sure that you do not leave anything you can't live without on the internal memory So All I need to say now is that IF you do have Rom Manager, and IF you do have True Super User on the device, then you should be good to go if you have the WI-FI only ROM that is needed to flash the Xoom Tablet (Please look for ClockWork ROM Manager tutorials to help you with SUCH and make sure you have a stable Rom (aka looking at comments) that you want to try out ^_^!!!)
I wish you the best and the fastest way of fixing your problem, and tell your friend he needs to note a Wi-Fi only tablet ROM is not the same as a 3g tablet ROM hehe!

Rom Manager Partition SD .....

I am sooooo SUPER excited that we finally got a official recovery ( thank you Koush ), however, after playing around some, I noticed an option for Partition SD Card. Believe me, I have done my fair share of searching, here, online and everywhere, before posting here. I still can't seem to properly understand the relevance of partitioning the SD card. Could somebody please break it down for me in lehman's terms for???
Thank you all very much in advance.

Problem connecting Milestone2 as a storage device

Okey, I have installed Tetz JB CM10 and now I can't connect my cellphone as a storage device... I would very much like to post on the PROPPER thread where someone might actually be able to help, but I can't as I "don't have anough posts to do that"... So I'm posting here....
PS: The "propper" thread: [JB][29-08-2012] CyanogenMod 10 for Motorola Milestone 2 (Android 4.1.1)
I would suggest taking out the sd card and using a card reader when you want to transfer files. Much faster read/write speed
