just for extras ya know?
When I called HTC for a battery cover replacement, I told them I also need a warranty replacement for the battery since it doesn't last for 4 hrs on a full charge. They sent me replacements for battery, battery cover & sim cover. I had the phone over 30 days.
Didn't work for some people here. But maybe calling on a Saturday and talk to a lady Rep might make a difference. I forgot her name though. She was very helpful.

I saw one at shop.htcpedia.com, seems pricey but looks to be oem. I don't know anything about them, I've been searching for the same thing myself. Does anyone have any experience with this shop?

Same here. I called twice separately. Once for Battery cover, other for Battery. Got both in less than week.

Any experience with those? They look like rebrands of the chinese ones that I've heard aren't very good.
Best way to get an OEM battery? Call HTC and complain about the battery life and ask to be sent to the accessories dept. Ask them about an extended battery and when they tell you there isn't one (because of course, there isn't), ask them to send you a new stock one to replace the one you have, since you know, it might be defective. I didn't even have to ask for one and they shipped me one with a new cover for free.
Buy another Inspire 4G.
anyone know the true rating of those "1600MAH" ebay batteries I got 2

Can somebody recommend me a spare battery ? I normally keep a charged spare battery in my wallet for cases when the current battery just dies on you and you need your phone on .. I dont mind getting an 3rd party battery as long as the life is good, price is under $20 or something, etc ..
Any suggestions ?
110 views and no suggestions .. ?! How is this possible .. ?!
I use a Desire S battery. 1450mah, perfect fit and made by HTC (i am not so keen on those 3rd party batteries as they almost never have the capacity they clame to have and not always fit right) I have the original battery as spare.
I've read the incredible s/2 battery will work. Going to try and grab one when verizon launches it.

How about this battery ?:
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Battery-Rep...ccessories&hash=item4aa76db5c9#ht_1378wt_1200
I just need one to keep as a spare in charged state in my wallet for those rainy days .. It will end up being used maybe like once a month or something, so I'm not looking for something with necessarily a lot of juice in it .. I just need something to give me a decent performance when my main battery dies on me .. And because I dont require much, I'm also not wanting to spend anything more than $15 more or less ..
Also, what about the ones mentioned here? : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953518

i got two of these (two chargers also) and was really impressed with them. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/replacement-3-7v-1500mah-cellphone-battery-with-charger-for-htc-desire-z-vision-bb96100-51190 The downside is they take a long time to ship from Hong Kong.
The batteries last at least as long as the original one on a charge. Also, you can have one charging while using the other in the phone.
I got 2 spare batteries plus a dedicated spare battery charger for 99 cents on eBay... crazy... but they do work fine, mind you. Not as long as an original, but on it's own the spare generic battery can last as close as the original htc battery....
...and I get two and a battery charger for effin 99 cents!!!!!!! plus shipping of course, which cost me 3 bucks... not bad
Hehehe...

The htc evo shifts battery fits our phone perfectly, no modification necessary. Ebay sells some third party batteries for the evo shift which includes 3x1800 mah and a sleak wall charger for them. In my personal experience, they do offer more juice than the stock battery and everything on my phone is fully functional. Oh yeah everything together cost about $15.

go to amazon.com they have some battery with charger for $120 for the LG G2x which is probably the one they are talking about. i didn't read the the ad but the picture doesn't look like an extended to me though. No battery is worth $120 for a cell phone unless it never would need to charge again! lol. or would work on every cell phone maybe....
lol it got removed. it was there a couple hours ago. looked like a scam anyways.

I did buy some extended batteries a while ago from ebay for my last phone. What I did was email some of the buyers of the battery and asked them about it.. But, recently I noticed some 1600mah batteries for sale on ebay for the g2x. I emailed a buyer.. he said "stay away".. He said it was only holding a charge for something like 1-2hrs.
Also, I can't get a battery w/a replacement door. I love my Body glove case.. There's no way I'm ditching it for a replacement battery. They'll have to come out with an extended battery that's the same size and like 1750mah for me to buy it.. Plus, who wants to take it out of the case constantly to switch to a backup stock battery. Not this guy.
Yeah that one for 120 is redic. I would love one that made the backing flush with the cam and maybe 2000mAh. People's cases would probably still fit as well. As long as it wasn't a hard plastic one.

Great! Thanks for the link. This is exactly what I've been looking for. You all gotta remember that these new cell phones are true personal computers literally, but since battery technology hasn't advanced much in holding capacity we need to accept this. I for one would rather have a functional device that's practical, rather than cosmetic form factor that only looks good, but can't even hold a charge for an 8 hour work shift. Even HTCs t mobile shadow, when it came out 4 years ago had horrible battery life, everyone complained and then t mobile gave every shadow owner a free extended battery through the mail. Even though it bulked up the phone, the HTC shadow was now practical and a dream to use. hopefully tmobile gets a lot of complaints on the g2x battery life and sends us all a free extended battery too. But for now I'm glad to know I can purchase this one. If anyone already has this mugen one please post a review. Thanks
I purchaes this battery from a person on eBay that clearly started that they were selling a 1800 mah battery for the sensation. They were from China so i didn't wanna buy ,but i figured that I'll give it a shot. To make a long story short this dip**** sent me a 1600 mah that suks compared to the one that comes with the phone. I contacted him and he said sorry we put up the wrong picture for that item ,but we dont offer the battery in the picture. He offered me a clear skin cover wtf. lesson learned I'm not mad about the money I'm pissed he lied and it took a damn month ugh.

Anyway just buy an external charger and switch between batteries. Thats what i do and i never have to charge my phone. The second battery will charge before the other drains ( even the chinese one ) . I baught a HTC battery for $27 and a cheap charger from ebay for $6!!! I had one for my HD2 and never had probs
Lol i bought the battery before i got the phone assuming it was gonna drain fast like my vibrant ,but not the case here i put my original battery in and been able to get a day with moderate use im done with online ebay crap.

Seems like a non-issue if you're buying from chinese knockoff artist. Have you ever heard "You get what you pay for" ?
I bought a refurbished Inspire last week (which looks and works like new), but after these few days of research, I am already aware of it's abysmal battery life. It came with a stock battery that has to be charged at least twice a day to make it through the day. I am also aware of the best batteries for this phone. Here's my issue: I'm not willing to drop 40 bux into a mugen. Next best thing from what I've heard is the Anker 1600 mah. Amazon is clean out of them. ONE seller is selling them on EBay (for the Inspire) and he's charging 3X what the battery normally goes for. Is anyone aware of a store out there that is selling the Anker 1600 for the Inspire, and they're NOT trying to rip people off in the process? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
I am looking for a battery too. My friend gave me her old Inspire but she left it put in the cold/heat so now it won't hold a charge at all. I was gonna they to trade someone on XDA a battery from my old Evo 3D for one. Sucks that HTC made all their batteries different shapes. Of anyone knows of any good deals, let us know.

I have this one for my inspire and its decent. When I was running Blackout ICS, i could easily get 24-36 hours out of it, now that I'm running AOKP, its not as good. Prolly 12-16 hours. Meh. Cheap enough though.
Hi I'm here today to inform everyone that if you buy an extended battery from eBay, do not buy any that are white, orange, and yellow only buy the black ones that look like a bug stock battery, as the others are not the mah that is stated or they are and go bad quickly, I have bought both types and the black ones maybe only 3500 whereas the others maybe more but the black ones have much better battery life, especially on Scotts jb ROMs (cm10.1) and beanstalk
Just thought I'd state this to maybe save some people some money and annoyance

I have gotten the black double-size batteries in the past with some success, mostly due to the fact that the batteries WILL and DO go bad over time.
I contacted the seller in both cases (one for my Infuse, the other for a Galaxy Nexus), and the seller was quick to send out a replacement, no questions asked.
So, adding to this OP, be cautious of ANY battery you purchase for ANY device over a year old, as these batteries could have been on a shelf for 2 years and "dried up" from age.

On a related note, sort of an update...
I purchased one of the cells as referenced in the OP and, after a couple of days of leveling, I think it's coming around. I'm gonna watch it for 2 more days and report back.
Okay, so with a bit of knowledge I've gleaned over the years, I made my own extended battery with 2 cells from 2 stock batteries.
The one I ordered ended up failing so I contracted the seller who promptly sent the replacement within a day. I have yet to cycle the battery and test it, but the one I made is better than the one I gave the old lady. I can't post pics with the mobile app yet, but when I can I will. I average 14 hours of moderate use per day and still go home with 40+ %.

very interesting would love to see it and i think it would be great to have a little tutorial on how to do that for those who have the parts and dont want to buy from ebay
Test pic upload
Looks like it worked, will post pic in a little while.
Okay, battery on left is the one you get from eBay, the one on the right is my homemade extended battery. If you peel the cover of a stock battery you'll see a cell, a bottom plate and a top plate with the control electronics installed.
All I did was what computer manufacturers have been doing for years, join two cells to one controller.
I might write a tutorial if enough interest pops up... *hint hint*
To anyone reading this:
My girlfriend's Infuse was damaged by the orange/yellow/white battery you see in the picture. The phone was scorch by a battery that just kept charging because one cell could not take anymore charge, so it just kept heating up.
If you have one of these batteries in your phone, keep a very close eye on it. I now have to contact the seller and see if there is any recourse for a phone that's been damaged by one of their products. Plainly put, it's burned so bad the sim card is melted in the slot!
