If you mean the CHT Notifications its quite simple
The 4 Notifications are png files with the names:
CHT_messages
CHT_missedcalls
CHT_voicemail
CHT_email
All of them are 128x128 pixels and if you want to make your own, just create them with this dimensions, give them the names I told you and copy to windows directory
Assuming that I am right and you mean the Notifications you would mean the Bubble with the number inside, right?
If you want to edit that you would need to have these two manila files:
7fc6de76_manila
41bcf042_manila
within these files there is a 64x64 pixels png image with the bubble or whatever inside
This is the background file on which the number of messages etc will be displayed.
Hope I got you right And if so, that was of help for you

hey there Nord. i should have explained better bud. i want to keep the cht notifiction icons im currently using, its the notifictions in the red box i want to change. i think rat made these and no offence to the man, i really like them, i just fancy a change, i've been using these for ages now. im thinking theres a bit more than just "skinning" over these ones........thanks a lot mate.

did you back up your original manila file png? I usually use that as a template.
answer to your question..image could be any size within the bounds of the canvas (with that being said canvas needs to be transparent)
im not personally familiar with the file your trying to edit. but keep in mind on most of those manila images don't adhere to the entire size of the canvas because of the dimension needs.
hope that made sense.

To clarify a little, though I have been using the slide for a while now, the slide program does not require WA or WAD to be ran, you copy the lock folder to anywhere on ppc, and then run the slide.exe program, and you may also change the background of the wallpaper to any image in bmp format by renaming it to wallpaper.bmp and also, the program does not automatically run after comming from standy, you have to activate the program by running the .exe file, or by assigning to hardware button as for right now. Not sure of anyway to have an app to auto run after comming from standbu, hopefully someone knows.
Heres a screeny of my slider.....and yes it actually slides across...

My 5cents
I have gotten the slider program to work via SkTools (memmaid will work too) and made a notification to run the program coming out of a wake up. However currently I have found this extremely buggy... ie sometimes the program runs multiple times when coming out of standby and sometimes causes an error..
My main use was to replace the now screen from mobile shell with this, seeing as that was my favorite part of mobile shell. If anyone knows of a program better for this, or has had better experience with getting the slider to work in wm6 out of standby, please let me know.

To have it run after you come out of standby, you need to add a "Notification Queue" entry for the slide.exe file with the WHEN setting of " The Device woke up"
You can add entries for any system state changes to the notification queue to run any program.

[HELP][THEME] with textfield for theme.

So, lately I've been dabbling in making my own themes. Well, I've hit a wall when it comes to text fields. I want to color text fields red like the rest of the highlights in my theme. I start with the basic png and use Gimp to colorize them to red and save again as png over writing the original. After I use MetaMorph to apply the theme the text fields come out like garbage. Btw, I was stumped on GoogleQuickSeachBox and hadn't moved on to other textfields.

Hmm, they are all the .9.png files. How do I handle them specially? Is there a certain format I'm supposed to save them as? Thanks for the help.
Actually I think you put me on the right path to figure it out myself. I found the draw9patch program in the SDK tools folder. I'm guessing you just drag and drop in your images and save them from that program. If it's this simple, then I'm happy and it works. If it doesn't work I'll be coming back for more help.
Unfortunately its not that simple.
After selecting the stretchable areas and saving the .9 file, it needs to be 'compiled'. Either add it to a project and build (eclipse), or use a standalone tool to just process the .9 (can't remember the tool name)
If ur on a windows machine and background transparency is not an issue for u then id suggest mspaint, it keeps .9 info intact and doesnt overwrite/delete it when u save the file after editing it.

Ok, this is driving me nuts. I figured out how to get Eclipse set up and I created a project. Now, according the the instructions I add the .9.png files to the res/drawable-hdpi file. Then I go to my project, right click and select Android tools. Then I'm supposed to export unsigned android package. Well, I get an error saying the apk doesn't exist and it does it even if I'm using a sample that comes with the sdk. What am I not doing?

Easiest way to get around it is to make the new image in the larger size with the appropriate width (not the squeezed version)

(||||||||||||||||||) - modded one.
That works

Yeah, I guess I could just expand the image. That seems kind of like cheating though. And now I think I have it figured out. I even got Eclipse to run hello world.
That modded keyboard is actually not modded at all. That keyboard is the stock swype. Its in beta and you might find it somewhere on here if you look. You can send a pm for more details.

Does the code build without errors? Check the errors tab.

Ok, new day, new problems. Well, I found out my problem above was a build path error. That is apparently tricked into solving itself by adding and then removing a library. Now, I added the text fields to the res/drawable-hdpi folder. I have two errors for each one, and an error for the icon.png file it placed in there (it's the hello world test) looking at the error it says:
error: Error: No resource found that matches the given name (at 'icon' with value '@drawable/icon').

So, I'm assuming this means I haven't placed a guide in the draw9patch program along the bottom and top of the image to stretch horizontally. So, I go back to to draw9patch, move my text field into it and try to draw a guide on the bottom of the image and this happens:
FML, I can't draw anything along the bottom. I checked, the bottom clearly has room and the top has a few pixels of transparency for room as well. I even renamed it without the .9 before I dropped it into draw9patch. It looks like in the preview area it's stretching just fine vertically though, those guides most be intact and also why I'm not getting an error for them eclipse.
Of course the problem is something as simple as being zoomed in too far. Now I got the draw9patch program running fine. I was even able to compile one without a problem. Ok, now I'm going to retry to make that GoogleQuickSearchBox and see if it all worked out for me.
Were you able to fix that search field in the browser setting? I haven't been able to fix it. If so, what is the name of the .png fixed and how did you do it? Thanks

I haven't got to that one yet. Your browser searchfield is what got me into this mess . Since, I'm doing it for my personal theme I was copying textfields from your theme when I ran across that issue. I started working on another theme for my fiancee after I figured it all out. I'll let you know if/when I find it.
post the original file and the color you need and I'll take a crack at it. (first with mspaint of course )
I've always been confused by .9s. The rest of theming has become pretty easy, especially with MetaMorph. I don't know if MS Paint would be of use in this case.... looks like you'd want to be able to do to transparency on this image, but if you can make it look good without, then good for you. I'm surprised to hear that Paint keeps the info intact. Who knew Paint was good for anything more than entertaining 5-year-olds?
About that Swype... if someone wants to PM me about the stock-themed, non-expiring version, that would be great. The official beta apk has expired, and I lost the un-official one when I put my sdcard in the wash. Managed to find one that works, but it's an ugly themed one, and I can't find the images from the stock version.
About the theme in general.... sounds like you're going very in-depth with it... I'd like to see more of it! is there a thread for it anywhere, or screenshots?

I have the same setup and do all my work with GIMP. However you do need to recompile any 9patch images into a project to get them to work properly. I use eclipse in Ubuntu to accomplish this.
On a related note, I plan to release a big pack of xcf template files from my black matte morph that can be used for theming the entire framework. That will hopefully help more of the Ubuntu users out there. I see a lot of Photoshop files on here but no love for GIMP ever. I'd like to change that.

Well, it was just for personal use. I really love the concept of a couple themes out there but liked bits and pieces of them. So, I've taken bits and pieces of different themes and sort of put them together the way I wanted. Because, I sort of kanged it all together I hadn't planned on releasing the theme to everyone as a lot of it isn't my work. I suppose if MicroMod and Manup gave me permission I could. I took a lot of their pieces (status bar, widgets) but, a lot I've made myself (notifications, textfields, check marks).
The thought behind the theme is that I really like when people leave stock icons. When you start to theme icons, then your apps from the market that aren't theme stick out like sore thumbs and I don't like it. However, I like the dark status bar, widgets, etc... Recently I decided red goes best with black and want various check marks, text fields, highlights, etc... to be red. I attached a screenshot of it before I started changing it to red highlights. I also made a pink version for my fiancee because she likes those sorts of things. I kind of want to release that one though because I don't really see too many girly themes out there.

Here is how it works now.
Step ONE.. make sure you have already installed the DigitalClock for Cht2.0 and CHTS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8319907&postcount=4
______________________________________________________________
Step TWO
Go to your phone in active sync and go into StorageCard/_CHTScheduler
Drop in the Folder from the .zip called "CHTSLayout_cubism 2"
http://www.brittondelizia.com/josh/CHTSLayout_cubism 2.rar
______________________________________________________________
Step THREE
Soft reset then click the windows button and go to CHT_Switch and click on "Cubism 2" load cubism.
_____________________________________________________________
Step FOUR
Assuming you have JWMD Icon Changer (if not get it) and replace
solitare
Windows Media
Reset
Shake to Save
File Explorer
Camera
Opera
Bing
Youtube
Google Maps
With BlankIcon.png
___________________________________________________________
Step FIVE
Install Dic3ptors Green Slider
Tacchan23s Dusk Green Taskbar
then
DotSlider
In that order
Soft reset and i think thats it..
The only other thing you might have to do is reload the wallpapers.. not sure why.. but if so.. its prett simple just add the wallpaper as an HQ 1400x800 wallpaper (its in the file) and Skin the Soft and Taskbar..
Let me know how it works out.. in the mean time ill be trying to make it more automated.
Save
http://www.brittondelizia.com/josh/blankIcon.png
Somewhere on your phone or sd card.. youll need it later.
http://www.brittondelizia.com/josh/NoIcon.cab
This is the NoIcon cab for incase you need it to remove the icons are left after you run scheduler, scheduler should remove them but here is the fix just incase.

The last and most important step... Go by their threads or catch them on someone elses and say thanks to Tacchan and Dic3ptor for all the work that goes into some of their work that helps folks like me NOT have to rebuild sliders and taskbars when there is already amazing stuff like theirs out there!
And of course thanks to Micheal Diamond and Cookie for making tying any of together and making this possible in the first place.

As soon as i know the green works ill start uploading the rest.. im trying to eliminate some steps.. i think the issue is on MY phone when i save it and then re install it.. its pulling the files automatically from where they WERE not from where they are in the zip.. so when i save the theme i have to figure out how to point it at the correct NEW file locations. If i can do this i should be able to get it down to one step i hope.
Ok, I,m almost there! The main stuff is up and running but I just need to clarify a few things:
1. I don't have some of the apps linked to by the cube icons. Is there a way to link some of those icons to other apps ie the Mario & Luigi pic to maybe Morphgear (SNES emulator) etc....
2. Installed the Green Digi clock but I can't select it from the editor.
I'll keep adding any other problems I have to this post as they come up...
the clock should pop up automatically if you have it in stalled.. if not.. add a widget and digital clock should be the next to last thing from the bottom.
The mario brothers are just linked to solitaire.. i figured after we got it all running id describe how to delete and add links to whatever you want.. but i wanted it all running first.. but yea.. for now mario should just link to solitaire.
EDIT
Ill go ahead and post it now.. but lets not get ahead of ourselves.. to swap out icons.. just go to home edit.. and double click/hold down a sec.. where the icon SHOULD be.. then click remove.
Then just add a new free link and place it on top of the picture you want to activate it with.. click on remove lables.. then go back to JWMD Icon editor and replace the icon of the new thing you placed there... i.e. morph gear.. and replace the stock icon with the blank icon file.
Clear cache / soft reset ect.. and now your new icon will be there instead of the original (same clickable pic thoug)
When you add digital clock if its not my version i know why.. i placed .png files in the cab instead of _manilla
Im used to building on brute force not using soft install (cab files) so there is a little learnign curve here for me to make it easy to install/uninstall to everyone

I think im gonna do all the colors tacchan and dusk both have theres done in.
Make sure oyu post pics here as soon as you lock it down.. im stoked to see the first clone!!

What is the max resolution on CHT 2.0 on your phone? we have 1400x800 so im not sure what the cut off is on yours.
The concept is the same.. as long as the icons arent up too high.. worst case.. you can be a hero and let us know .. and if it doesnt.. a hard reset will bring you back to zero.
In sure all the vga guys would be appreciative.

Yeah, just doing like you said and removing unneeded links and replacing them. It's all working as planned, I'd love that green digi clock though so let me know if I've done something wrong. I used the one in your folder and the one from the link you posted and neither show up in the editor. I'll post some screenies once I'm up and running. Good job!

As far as vga goes.. the only problem i can see is either icons being too hight to click.. or mapping being top down.. which would make them too low to click.. either way.. i might be able to fix it.. so let me know if its perfect and if not what problems it has so i can fix it now for future themes.. thanks for being the guinee pig

true that..there needs to be a good solid tutorial on cfcgui.
there is an quick old one that bignadad posted on ppcgeeks in the tp2 forum that you could look up. I'm not at my desktop at the moment so I apologize not pointing you to the link.
hope you get it worked out.

Well its actually quite easy I will give it a try to explain what you want to do
At first it is important to create 2 folders on your desktop. One should be named "Manila" and the other one "Images" ( its not really neccessary to use these exact names, but in my opinion it lets you keep the oversight )
You want to put the manila files you want to work with into the manila folder.
There are 2 tasks that I use cfcgui for.
1. Extracting Images from manila files.
2. Replacing the existing images inside the manila files with the one I created.
I will start with number 1.
You put the manila file into the "Manila" folder and then start cfcgui. Then you go to file->select folder and choose the "Manila" folder. That defines from where the program will get the manila files.
After you selected the folder your manila file(s) will be displayed on the left side of the screen. If you want to take the image out of a certain manila then just select the manila file in the list and click Save As in the lower right corner. And then select the place where you want to save the png. I wouldnt recommend saving it in the "Images" folder .
Thats all to extracting pics from manilas
Now for 2.
Lets say you have created an image that you want to put inside a manila file. Of course you first have to make sure, that the dimensions of your image are the same as the original .
You have to put this image into the "Images" folder and start cfcgui. You have to select the "Manila" folder again through file->select folder. After that choose the manila file you want the image to be placed in, in the list on the left. Then in the lower right corner click Replace with.. and choose the image file in your "Images" folder. After you pressed ok you are already done Now you can close cfcgui and you have the modified manila file in the "Manila" folder. It still has the old name, but the image will be changed
Thats basically what cfcgui works like.
There is something else, that might be of use though, too.
If you want to have like 5 different images stored into the same manila file, then instead of making the steps in 2. five times you can simply put all the image files into the "Images" folder and your 1 manila file into the "Manila" folder. Then you start cfcgui and select the "Manila" folder again .
Now you wanna click Tools->Import from PNGs. Then you select the "Images" Folder and the program does the rest for you
This will put all the png files you put into the "Images" folder into the manila file. So it basically does all the steps in 2. as often as there are pngs in your "Images" folder.
You will then have 5 manila files in your "Manila" folder. Which each have the name of the png file and no longer of the manila itself. So you just have to rename them to the right manila name and you are done.
Thats basically all I use cfcgui for and all I know about it
Hope that helped some of you

Mhm I dont try to directly expoort it to my device because I was told, that it is much safer just trnasferring it manually so that not accidently other files are beeing changed. I would recommend you just take the manila file out of the "Manila" folder and put it somewhere you remember on your phone and then use total commander or resco etc to copy it into windows. if you did everything right then you are asked to replace an existing file and you are done
success
it worked!!
I used total commander to replace the file and there it is!!
I know it does not look like much, but now I know how to do it I can make something better.
thank you to everyone for your help
...can you point me in the direction of the top taskbar files?

ähm...well....the taskbar isnt nearly as easy as what we did right here. There is no simple editing of files and you are done. YOu have to put up .dll files and so much other stuff. If you search the forum you will surely find someone who can explain that to you, but I would recommend you first master one craft and then go to the next
But of course, just try and see how far you get
lol...yes i think you might be right there!
im happy with my M6silver i have now,its just the sent, sending sms and mms icons dont work ...but that can wait till tomorrow lol
and thanx for your black sms widget,I like that one
lol..... I just found your blue "honeycomb" sms widget....that one looks better on my blue phone, and already pretty much has the same bubble.
missed call icon
getting there bit by bit.....
now I just need to find the name of the missed call icon on the home screen in minila
thats so awesome thank you.
I was under the impression thats you had to have the device hooked into the desktop. so cfcgui would send the newly created manila file into the windows folder. so now, as long as your aware what manila file is what graphic your good. its finding which is which thats the pain.
ok so I ask you what exactly "mode9" and "qtc" is and what do they do?
one other thing what is all this patching, trim, padding and cfc compress?
anything we should be greatly concerned about?
thanks again for taking the time to explain this.
btw your new clock widget is really nice.

Yes, I thought so too at the beginning, but to me it feels much more easy to do it on the pc alone That also lets you have Backups of your manila files
I dont really know what the patching, trim, padding and cfc compress commands do. But I was told, that for the things we do. And that is extracting and replacing this is not needed. I am doing this now for quite a time and I have never come across an issue with those. So just ignore them
Well there are basically 3 different manila files: Mode9, Lua and QTC.
QTC manila files are the image manila files, that we can use to replace images inside the manila or extract images. They more or less give you the visual layout.
The Mode9 Manila mostly handles Font colors, the arrangement of components, font sizes etc. For my Pulse Clock Widget I of course had to make a mode9 file, too. That defines, where the text appears and what color, size and font are beeing used. But if you want some more detailed insight, then just visit poyensas thread. He is the master of the mode9 files
The Lua manila files are only needed for widgets. They define how the widget should work with the device. For example whether it is resizable, pinnable, where it should get information from and if it has layouts. This one basically is the mechanics of the widget.
So just keep in mind.
Mode9 = Creating visible/invisible Components
Lua = defining the mechanics of the Widget and working with the components from the mode9 file
QTC = the easiest to work with and used to put images into a widget or something similar.
Hope that didnt make it more complicated. And of course my explanation here isnt far as good and accurate then what others can explain to you. But I think it covers the basics
Thanks for your praise I updated the cab, so you should check back

Aedon's FULL Dusk Keyboard Skins

So youve tried looking for keyboard skins befor and were excited about the great new look it gave your phone right?
BUT
You were dissapointed to find that it only skinned the very basic onscreen qwerty right?
I know I was.
SO
I did something about it.
If your familiar with the Sharkie rom, you might have noticed that his 5.0 rom featured a full keyboard skin in wich every single keyboard in the phone had been skinned in Dinik's iconic anastasia theme.
That was my first keyboard skin.
But after the fact I had noticed a themeI liked better then the anastasia glass.
The DUSK!
So I colaborated a bit more with sharkie to make this new full keyborad skin.
We decided that a traditional black and white look would be best and I went to work on this Dusk keyboard.
Stock Green is just that, a stock green version
Sharkie Bule was made to match the sharkie roms aqua blue them.
Crimson Red was basicly for my use but I'll share

Ok... if anyone else has an issue of having white text on your keyboards instead of black like its sapouse to, this is what you do.
Follow thees steps exactly.....
First, download the "Black ezinputs.zip" at the bottom of this post.
Extract the folder inside of it and place it somewhere on your storage card.
Using total commander, navagate to that folder and click it.
Now, 'right click' or hold down on the file inside of the folder. (the file name should be 'ezinput.dll') and hit 'Properties'
Uncheck all the boxes under attributes.
(just click on the check mark, and it you have to click it again if it goes gray rather then dissapearing)
Click ok at the botom of your screen.
Now go to your windows directory.
Find the ezinputs.dll in your windows directory and do the same thing.
After hitting ok, rename this file to 'ezinputs2.dll'
Go back to the file on your sdcard and right click it and select 'copy/move'
then on the next window you have 4 choices
copy
move
tree
cancel
Select 'tree', then click on 'windows' (it should be the last item on that list of folders)
After that, it will go back to the window with the 4 choices mensioned above.
Select 'copy'
It might take a min to do this, just wait.
Once its finished there, soft reset.
After its started up, your keys should be black again.
All thats left to do is go back into your windows directory and delete the 'ezinputs2.dll' file.
Reset again just to be safe.
That should take care of it.
This guide was written under the pretence that you have used some other keyboard skin or file that has changed your text to white.
(Otherwise Id say you dont even need to do this as your text should be black if nothing has been tampered with.....)

Someone has already made one, allthough kinda half finished.
He has all the files alvailable in a zip on his thread, but I dont think he knows how to make a cab.
I could probable make one though.
Would you mind posting a pic of the exact type your interested in?
Ive seen a few different types called wp7 themed but they all just looked just like blue squares.
Is blue what your looking for or some other color
Or do you mean make a keyboard for windows 7 phones and not a 6.5 windows phone?
why dont make android keyboard :]
If you send me 3 files, 1 each of the Black key, Silver Key, and Blue key I will theme my Android Keyboard with them and see how it works out. Then you can share it with others.

I would if I knew how to lol
I dont know much at all in the way of android.
If someone gave me the files, I could skin them, But I dont know how to complie them on an android like I have here for wm.
Id love to have a dusk keyboard on my android port tho
This is the keys that would need to be themed for HTC_IME.apk
If you can theme these keys I will try to add to my keyboard and see if they work.

If you have installed someone elses keyboard in wich they turned the letters to white, then one of the files in their skins is still effecting the phone.
My cab has nothing to do with this.
If you look threw your windows directory using total commander, look for a file called " exinput.dll " and try and delete it. If that doesnt work then Im afraid a hard reset will have to be performed since I dont know of any other way to get rid of it.
Let me know if you can delete it, if you cant I will do some more research on it.
Maybe there is a file that can change them back to black...
But Ive looked through that file a few times and didnt see any hexcode for color so Im not sure.
I'll look through it again.
Sorry about that
*Edit*
I didnt think to ask but is your stock keyboard letter color white?
If so then maybe the stock ezinput is black in wich case I can pull my file and post it lol.
thanks for the reply bud. i was using diniks v3 keyboard which seemed to uninstall ok. i've looked for the file you suggested , take a look at the image and you'll notice a file close to the one you said but i wont delete anything untill i know a bit more. in all honesty mate, i cant remember what colour the original keys were, its been that long......i should mention im using stock rom. we could maybe try the method you suggested by ripping the file from whatever an i'll just try it an see what happenes. top looking skin though man !!!.
cheers....

ya thats the file sorry, I hit x on accident.
Its "eZ" not 'eX' lol my bad
If its a system protected file, then the phone will tell you that it cant be deleted. And even if it does get deleated, if you soft reset your phone, it will make a new one from the roms stock image.
Thats why most cabs make you soft reset so that the phone doesnt delete what youve put and go back to the stock image it has in the rom.
So if nothing else it shouldnt do anything at all if you delete it.
And ya, that anastasia cab has the file to make the keys white.
Im sunning sprint lovers rom right now, but I normally use the referance stock of energy.
Im going to hard reset my phone now (I installed the ezinputs file befor mentioning it to be sure) and look for the same file to see if it has a way of going back to black keys or if the white keys is only from that file.
Check back in about... say 10 mins?
I should have an answer for you

My phone isnt letting me copy it though.....

Im going to ask a buddy of mine to send me the stock file.
Every time I have a problem getting a file off my phone, Sharkie can always get it to me lol
I should have it pretty soon. Hes very good about anwering messages.
Just be sure to check back later on.
I'll post a cab for white fonts and black fonts for people who want it
Thanks for using the skins.
Are you on an HD2 or a touch pro 2?
thanks for your efforts mate, i really appreciate it !!. im using a hd2, its still on stock rom but it seems to run pretty sweet considering all the mods and graphic changes i've done to it, great phone all in all......
Thanks.
Ive been trying to get some feedback from HD2 users.
The chef who made the rom Im using used a different keyboard then the stock one that comes on the touch pro 2 and Ive been trying to see if it was the one fro the hd2, wich it appears to be.
