[Q] - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Can anyone elaborate or provide a link to android memory management. I am confused about Android virtual memory scheme. How is paging done in Android? Without a hard disk, how do they do it? Do they have caching?

Virtual ram

I wondered if anyone knew if, as the htc touch diamond is a windows based phone, it could be adapted to utilise part of the 4Gb internal memory for a virtual ram drive to supliment the lack of onboard ram. My thinking process is that windows itself can be modified through settings to increase the virtual memory taking a portion of the hard disk. Can the same be done in windows mobile 6.5

Windows Mobile 5 or later, had the ability for user to select Ram vs. Rom memory depending on the users needs but no, not possible with the Windows Mobile of today.

[Help] Is there any way to run java. apps on android 2.1 pls help me

May this helpful to you.
Could somebody tell me if there is a way to run java dictionaries like Kodi for example in HTC HD2 with android 2.3.7 ?
no advice ?
In order to run some java files on my android devices, I out an Ubuntu image on my sd card and run that in chroot. Takes a couple of gig's from your memory and isn't really smooth, but it does the job:

[Q] How Android handle swapping memory

Hi all,
I am interested in understanding how android handles swap memory. Specially at the kernel level. What is the function call(at the kernel) that dose the swap in/out of the applications in memory?

[Q] Android memory allocation between processors

Hi
How would you share memory between two processors, one which runs android and the other a DSP without any OS (BSP)?
Should I allocate memory to a dummy process? How could I receive the physical addres to pass to the DSP?
Thanks

turning an existing android phone to a virtual machine

hi guys, i wanna turn my phone into a virtual machine so that i can use it in other phone/device but i did not see any means/process to do it.
can anyone tell me how to virtualize my phone for use in other devices? (also ram and storage will be virtual too)
so i wanna ask this question has any one does this before which means did you use to do it?
what do you mean
To run a VM ( guest OS ) in any case a hypervisor OS ( host ) is needed

With smartphones increasingly becoming capable devices, did it ever cross your mind to run a virtual machine on them? Is it even possible? How?

yes but i want to make my OS as a guest OS in other android phones but i dont know to make it be a guest OS so that other phones can use it
but do it have hardware acceleration ?
I think you're confused about the concept of a VM.
A VM is a container within a host system which is allocated a portion of the hosts physical resources for the purpose of running a guest OS (this is the VM) within it.
So to say you want to turn your android in to a VM shows clearly your confusion (nobody knows anything until they've learnt it; nobodyo all good!)
For example, it would be more appropriate to ask this:e
Is it possible to create an iOS VM on an Android (host) device with part of my android's resources (memory, storage space, interfaces etc)?
The answer? Ask the experts thisis is my first post.
Take care
