REPLACE THE 1st & 2nd WHITE BOOT SCREENS FOR BLACK ONES - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

I KNOW THIS HAVE BEEN DONE BEFORE WITH OTHER METHODS BUT I AM MAKING A NEW THREAD WITH A NEW & EASY METHOD:
TESTED TO WORK ON MY ROOTED ""Cricket Incredible SENSE Rom Release Candidate 3""
I take it it works for any stock or sense roms since other custom roms might have their own custom splash screens.
I MIGHT WORK FOR YOU ALSO.
(WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSABILITY IF SOMETHING HAPPES TO YOUR INCREDIBLE)
LIKE I SAID IT WORKED FOR MINES.
FOR THE FIRST SPLASH SCREEN GO HERE AND DOWNLOAD THE PB31IMG.zip TO YOUR ALREADY FORMATTED TO FAT32 SDCARD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=753938
just remember your sd card needs to be formattaed to FAT32 in order for HBOOT to read the PB31IMG.zip file.
FOR THE 2ND SCREEN:
I used root explorer, (google it) and then install, click on mount R/W , MAKE SURE IT SAYS mount R/O, go to sdcard then long press my ZIP file you downloaded from me click MOVE, then back arrow then scroll down to system/customize/resource then PASTE and it should overwrite the file. Leave the MP3 droid sound untouched. now reboot and enjoy.
again dont forget to click on the ''THANKS'' button if i helped you out!!!

will this replace my nexus bootloader ? sent from my ****!

So what's the new method? This is how its always been done, right?
Here is my old thread with the same method.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=805692

If you replace the splash screen then it will not, if you replace the boot splash it will but since you are running a nexus boot animation you shouldn't have it in the first place, unless you want to add it back.

is this the splash screen or boot animation ?

I want to flash this, but I'm scared to do this with any PB31IMG files. Any reports on others trying this?

I felt he was yelling throughout the whole post...

Yeah, and yelling something that has been known for an eternity. Like Stoney said, what exactly is this NEW method?

Look peanut, no one is hating. Shouting in caps "I HAVE A NEW METHOD" which is no different than the "old" method is very misleading. Just stating fact, not hating. And then asking for thanks.

[Q] Boot Animation

Okay, so I have been able to get a bootanimation.zip that i want. I placed it in /data/local... I reboot and it still shows the old swirling Samsung logo...But it does play my custom boot sound (awesome)... I haven't really seen any SGS4G specific threads...and the ones to other phones kind of run me in circles. Not looking for a hand out, just a heading...any idea? Something im PROBABLY missing...
Oh and i gave the bootanimation.zip god privileges...not sure if it matters
Running on 2.3.5 KI3 from Octiane V2.0 (awesome ROM BTW)
at the moment our gingerbread kernels do not support custom boot animations. I'm sure once we have a source to work with, will have full support.

Well, that makes senses...thanks!
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
OK first try with this app. I rooted my girls stock gingerbread droidx (if u need help rooting it stock gb droid x u can email me.)then u can download root toolbox and they have a section for boot animation, select one u like and install it. with this app u can even change splash screen and battery icon but for icon u will need pro version. u can just go to ipmart and download it for gree. anyways..... if this does not work u will have to do it manually which may seem scary but its quite simple. first get the bootanimation.zip u want and rename it(if u r with verizon) VZW_bootanimation.zip then download super explorer and then go to ur phones internal system /custom/reasourses and first want to go to that location and copy past the original bootanimation of phone and save to soundcard incase u want to change back to it in system/customize/reasourses and delete ,it will be names VZW_bootanimation.zip. now the custom animation can be added. go copy the custom animation go back to system/customize/reasourses and paste new animation a boom it will work I promise. note if for some reason when u restart phone and no animation is there dont worry nothing is broken the animation isn't allay compatible so just find another on and follow all the steps again minus saving the boot u had added u can just delete it.. now what I desperetly need help with is adding custom sound. I have tried many different thing with no results but negative. ive tried deleting the old sound file and renamwd new sound as old one and placed in system/customize/reasourses no sound , I even went into system/customize/cd/default.xml and changes the writing that tells the system when to play music to autostart="part0" /> no go ,="part1" /> no go. neither worked. I even unzipped the bootanimation.zip and renamed the folder VZW and changed back autostart="VZW" ect which was the original setting and no go. ive tried renaming file and placing it in system/media and pasteing no go, ive tried copying file and pasteing it in system/meadia/notification like some direction have said and no go. im at a lose of what to do. I have a thunderbolt running stock gb and want to customize the sound for bootanimation so if anyone can help please email me [email protected]. thanku and I await ur response

Considering this is for the Samsung galaxy s 4g, you technically are in the wrong forum. Our phones use a qmg file for animations as far.as I know, so bootanimations.zip will not work, I've already tried the method you posted, without success.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
there's a few custom ones in the theme section. You just have to push all the files manually.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk
then its quite simple just rename ur new bootanimation exactally as ur old one a boom there u go. its not that difficult and if that doesnt work try something simple and download romtoolbox and install if from therr. if it works on the droid x it should that one
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
also u probably not only have to name it correctly u may have to try androidzip and change it to that kind of file type if not that do so on ur computer. were Theres a will Theres a way. also make sure ur permissions r correct

I will try that. If the qmg file is truly a zip file with its own custom file extension, then it should work, if its not, then it will display nothing. I'll back up just in case, but I was told by a developer on this phone (I believe raver), that it wasn't supported by the kernel.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Let me know if that works, i'm out for a few days...I'll try when I get home. However, the second response to my post was that it's unsupported... But if there is a work around, that would be sweet.

it's pretty easy, just take the wave file that you want to use and move it to /etc. rename it poweron.wav and reboot...all Done
you might want to make sure the permissions are set...I just checked all of mine.

Rename your wavfile to PowerOn.wav and push to system/etc
Make sure you name it exactly PowerOn.wav, matching the upper case P and O is necessary to make it work.

It runs smooth.
This is CWM flashable. Remember to take backup of your existing bootanimation.zip from /system/media location.

I make a habit to clear it every time I flash something new. After you flash, you can wipe it in the Advanced menu in CWM. When your phone reboots, be sure to not touch ANYTHING and let it sit for 10-15 minutes to let it rebuild. If you don't, your phone will lag.
If you didn't give sufficient time for your phone to rebuild the dalvik cache, you can always go into the Advanced menu in CWM and wipe it again. You'll just have to wait the 10-15 minutes again.

Instructions on HOW to install cwm touch(For Windows)
- Once you have downloaded the Package from the link below.extract it to a Folder..
- Inside the folder all you have to do is look for the "flash-recovery_xp.bat file"..
- now turn your G2x OFF..
- remove the BATTERY and make sure your G2x is not connected to the PC via USB
- Press the VOLUME DOWN button together with the VOLUME UP..
- now CONNECT the USB Cable..
- If by all means Windows prompts for a new DEVICE you have to install the APX drivers below (extract the package and manually install it from device manager).
- Else if windows does not prompt OR you are already done installing the APX drivers you can now proceed on Running the "flash-recovery_xp.bat" by double clicking it..
- Choose 1 and Then press Enter..Wait for a few seconds till it prompts you that the FLASH was successful. wait another 5 more seconds after the prompt for not to have issues..
- After that Reboot into CWM by Pressing Power Button together with VOLUME DOWN til you see the LG Logo with waves..upon seeing that now release the buttons and wait for the CWM menu..
I am not liable if you brick your phone even there is a method to unbrick your phone

Guide worked great and I like CWM Touch. You should add in the step saying "Hold Volume Up and Volume Down then plug USB cable in" that you will not see anything on your phone's screen. You have to hold the two volume keys while launching the .bat file, and then you will see the S/W Upgrade screen once it starts the process. Thanks to both Kairi and Navy, no need to go hostile over who did what. You both posted helpful guides.

The easiest thing to do is just copy it to your root of your sdcard. Then open up Root Explorer and navigate to sdcard on your file tree to access your files there. Find Camera.apk, hold on it until the copy option comes up. Hit the back arrow to get back to your internal card file tree and navigate to "system". Under system you will see a folder called "apps". Select that....touch the R/W option to get out of read only then hit "paste" at the bottom. Leave Root explorer and use your new camera. Simple as that.

Im sure it "could" if we had a JB Sense ROM. AOSP lacks the proper framework files to run a Sense camera. So either dont do it, or make a nandroid for when it fails.
I guess i could take the liberty of making this flashable though. But my thing is, who to contact for permission and credit for this camera, the thread linked isnt even the original thread, so i would think its safe to post but DEF got to give credit

Santod's UNSense ICS -- Discussion* Thread Non official

So I figured since I didn't see a thread about this ROM right off the top of the bat, I wanted to make a thread to discuss how awesome this ROM is.
Here are some screenshots regarding the ROM for anyone curious, Santod did a good job on this, the ROM is STILL SENSE, but most of has been desensed - that way we get our cake and can eat it too.
For those wondering, this ROM DOES HAVE A WORKING VIDEO CAMERA - only issue is getting the videos to save but alas this is still the Beta.
Santod, if you're reading this, thanks for the cool ROM, never thought I'd be happy on a SENSE based ROM ever again. Thanks for your hard work. I appreciate it greatly.

People create threads for ROMs that don't belong to them all the time. Seems foolish to me personally especially when a ROM may have a "home" site with much more support, but on the other hand, some people don't like having to go to multiple sites.
That said, I do agree that this belongs in the General area, not the development one.
And then, if this was a discussion about the rom, why would one post a link to the middle of the thread? I would rather be brought the OP.
Other than that, to the General section!!!
I'm running this ROM and it's awesome!
Thank you, Disconnecktie, for pointing me in this ROMs direction in another post.
Aside from this great ROM... Santod is releasing a new ROM according to a recent post on the Infected forums. I can't wait to see what he has in store for us!

Thread moved to general as this is not a dev thread more of a discussion thread

Yep. I'm pretty stoked.
Hey has anyone used the .19CDMA and ICS LTE radios? How do I flash them? Does the file that's given on the website have both radios already? Any step by steps on how to flash them?

I'm running Unsense 3.0 with the combo radios and it runs awesome. Yes the link in the OP is for the Combo radio. That's were I got mine. Just download, then check the md5 (VERY IMPORTANT). Move the file to the root of your sdcard. That is not in a folder. Then rename the file to PG05IMG.zip. (not PG05IMG.zip.zip) Reboot into boot loader. (The way I do it is I hold down the power button then select restart then reboot into boot loader. Mine boots into fast boot. Then I use the power button to select boot loader.) Once in boot loader the phone will automatically read the file and ask you if you want to update. Use the power button to select yes. The phone will update then you hit the power button to select reboot or restart after the phone finishes updating. After the phone reboots either erase or rename the PG05IMG file or you can run into trouble io you reboot into boot loader later on.
Standard disclaimer apply about not being responsible if your phone blows up or melts down.

You'll brick your phone if you flash a radio that doesn't match the md5.

Delete it and download it again until the md5 matches what is posted.

I messed around in beats audio and it went away. No crackling anymore over speaker, Bluetooth, or headphones.
I can't use the center clock option as I get two clocks and long pressing home gets me a sys ui fc.
Other than that its great.
