Ofcourse, this is great. Looks awesome.
Should be released to the masses.
Great to hear
I had thoughts of doing a GUI before release it, but maybe I should release it anyway?
This is great. I would like this tool has a possibility to download different CSC-s for restoring phones to factory settings. Also older sw version if possible. For ex.,at this moment i have a galaxy tab:
PDA: P1000BOJJ3
Modem: P1000XXJID
CSC: P1000CROJJ4
I cannot flash it with any custom rom because i cannot find this CSC , if i need it for warranty purposes. I dont even know OLDER version of this phone software so i could spoof with your SW
This tool can only download the latest official firmware for desired Samsung model. Not any older firmware versions or sperate files.
The tool have been released! Se first post for download link!

First of all, it's a bad error handling made by me. That error means it could not find any firmware info regardning the provided firmware.
Sencond, if you wish to find firmware for another model you have to add it to the command line at the end. Should maybe have pointed it out better in the instructions.
E.g. CheckFusDownloader.exe -c P1000XXJID/P1000OXAJID/P1000XXJID/P1000XXJID DBT GT-P1000
Ok, all is ok now i got how to use it thank you very much once again

Awesome
omg LuffarJoh
This application is amazing, honestly it is
It downloaded and decrypted a fully working ROM of my Galaxy S, precisely what i needed before i would even dare go into flashing, custom ROMs, rooting etc.
Though just a little note on the exe version of the application,
You posted a little usage instructions with it being
Usage: <-c|-dl> <HIDSWVER> <PRODCODE> [<MODEL>]
-c --- Check latest firmware
-d --- Download latest firmware
Example: CheckFusDownloader.exe -c I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3 XEU
I found a small mistake in it, in the usage example to download was -d when actually you had to type -dl to download the ROM xD it's minor but it would be good to fix sooner than later

Hello LuffarJoh, first thanks for your work.
Second, I've a question.
After the download, is any chk for the file? (chksum, md5 ...) How I be sure that the file isn't damaged?
Excuseme, I find to reduce the risk to flashing.

Updating my Samsung GS2 to Gingerbread XXKG1 2.3.4 Firmware lost me the Arabic support added under 2.3.3
Is there yet Arabic support for Gingerbread 2.3.4? If not, is it advisable to restore 2.3.3?
Cheers.

Arabic Support in SGS2 with Gingerbread 2.3.4
Lonexl:
If you're in a rush that you can't wait till the official release of the arabized 2.3.4 then your only choice would be to to switch to a deodexed rom (I am using Darky's ROM) - google " rom-base-sgs2-2-3-4-darkyrom2-xxkg1-base.4059 " to get it
The problem with this is that the programs/browsers that use the support library "libwebcore.so" will not be able to render Arabic correctly due to the fact that till date no one successfully compiled libwebcore.so from the webkit provided by samsung with arabic support patched in; However, firefox should work fine with stock font.
If that doesn't matter then after flashing the ROM just apply the update attached in this post using ClockWorkMod Recovery or simply upload the files framework.jar into /system/framework; libicuuc-arabic.so & libanrdoid_runtime.so into /system/lib using root explorer or any other method/tool.
Cheers.

Thanks for your reply, although neither methods worked for me, perhaps this would benefit someone else....
Clockworkmod wont work on my mobile for some reason and attempting to copy the lib and jar files did not either using rom manager (getting permission errors).
So may be I have to wait for a simple firmware that can be fired away via good old Odin.
It should be straight-forward process to get CWM you need to flash a kernel with CWM built-in. I suggest that you try "CF-Root-SGS2_XW_CLK_KF3-v4.0-CWM4.zip" from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
However, the one mentioned in Darky's thread "Supercore..1.0" should do anyway..
Once flashed you need to reboot your device with the three buttons down (power+home+up) to get the recovery menu. If you use that ROM you need to exercise patience as it will take a very long time to display the menu.
The stock ROM recovery will not allow you to flash the update because it's not signed by Samsung.
Thanks mate for your message. Athough i really appreciate your help must admit, I found the above message rather confusing.
"If you use that ROM (Which ROM are you referring to) you need to exercise patience as it will take a very long time to display the menu. The follow on step is not clear either.
When I installed arabic support to my SGS2 2.3.3 via one firmware & ODIN, straightforward process.... and for the non-tech "occaisional users" like yours sincerely the easiest way is to Start Odin, load firmware, click start and.... bingo.
Lookslike I will either have to wait for such firmware or search other sites.
Cheers.

Currently the best unofficial arabic support package is provided by brother Madmack and you should be able to get it from here http://blog.devasque.com but be warned it requires that your phone's system has been deodexed. You could use a package called xultimate to deodex your system automatically just make sure u actually use a version which employs the latest smali/baksmali (ver 1.2.8). Additionally you may just search the market for "brightidea browser arabic patch" to download the patch I built for the browser (which should be included in madmack's package anyway). Good luck.

Hi, I have scoured the web for information but several hours later I am none the wiser.
I would like to root my device in order to optimize its performance. I am super confused about: cf-root, mobile/pc odin, android version, etc. I still have no idea what is appropriate for my device. :crying: Please point me in the right direction.
I have found may threads out there with very detailed instructions, but I can't figure out if that's what I need. I'm apparently on Gingerbread, but what do I need now? The Icecream, the other one?
Reason for rooting: phone too slow with so many apps loading themselves in the background. I want to be able to prevent all these [expletive deleted] apps from loading themselves automatically. I also want to remove the stock apps I don't need (but can't now remove). I'm tired of factory resetting every other week to improve performance.
Ultimate purpose: phone, sms, whatsapp, news. That's it. I don't need 3d porn or anything. My needs are extremely minimal.
Thanks for any pointers! :good:

Thanks Sewrizer. I'd rather brick the phone than pay for the service. I already have a more recent phone, so this is more of a second device. It's just that I like the typing better so I haven't completely stopped using it. I guess I'm sort of relishing the idea of an experiment with it as well.
Do you have a link to instructions for the above? If it works for your friend, it's good enough for me.

thanks a lot.
which cf-root?
Thanks Sewrizer. As it happens these are the instructions I started with, and from which a lot of confusion arose (I can't post urls yet).
The first link is to Odin3 v1.85, but I have found Odin3 v1.87. Not sure if there is a later version. It says somewhere that the latest version is best.
The second link is to a series of posts with many download links. Somewhere down the page it states that if you're confused, then:
First, go to Settings -> About phone -> Build number. It should say something like FROYO.xxJPy. It's primarily the JPy that we are interested in. Try to match that with a download link available in this (and the next few) posts. Some of the downloads dont just have JPy file name format, but are called xx_xxx_JPy.
Let me explain that. Samsung isn't always very precise in naming/marking their different (leaked) firmwares. CF-Root's are modified kernels, the filenames explain in more detail which exact firmware ROM the base kernel was taken from, for those experts who understand.
If you are not one of those people, go back to the JPy thing. The "y" in JPy is 0-9, A-Z. If they run out of numbers, they use letters. So A would be 10 (9 + 1), while Z would be 35 (9 + 26). Find the one that is closest to yours, if yours is not present, and flash that one.
Click to collapse
Well, my build number is of the form GINGERBREAD.zsjv6, which doesn't fit the pattern described (I don't see any JPy, I see jv6), so which version of CF-Root should I download?
GT-19000. Firmware Version: 2.3.3. Baseband Version: I9000ZSJV6. Kernel Version:2.6.35.7. Build number: GINGERBREAD.zsjv6

Hi, I used one available in droid lessons, but i'm not allowed to post links yet. Just look in google for droid lessons and then " How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S3 " It was really easy, and worked great for me.

downgrade

Looks like that tutorial was only good for stock froyo users. Since you have gingerbread you must have updated your phone. I think you may have to downgrade from 2.3 to 2.2.

yes you're right I did upgrade at the Samsung store. I'll follow up your link now, but it's starting to sound awfully complicated :silly:
Thanks Sewrizer :silly::highfive:

Custom firmware based. I9505XXUPPI1
Replaced CSC on Russian SER BE from the last Russian J2. YOTA works out of the box immediately and Russian language sounds too + wallpaper and poveramp.
Animation on off from the S7,
S6 from the weather with a full date, the gallery. W Black Market Google YouTube.
The core of the native, so desktop vayf need to flash the bootloader modem from 4 file, the post above from the SW. Aleks.74 or just off. I9505XXUHPG1 firmware or put any custom kernel (my version imperium).
Changes: cleaned up a bit, added 50 hidden permissions type shutter sound, and work just LTE.
Setting common.

Hello on all!
I wait on the Flash Instruction for the newest Samsung Stock-Kernel.
I have flashed the interim-Kernel Imperium-Kernel
The Rom runs perfectly
This ROM contains, like the older XXUPOL1-Version, again all IMS-Files for VoLTE!
Just the csc-files needs to be fixed for DTM, VD2, VIA and others.
For working configurations, the csc files from SM-G900F (latest 5.0 Android) can be used as base for this rom.
VoLTE is ONLY available for some providers. The function is disabled for ATO or DBT and much more generic CSCs.
The enable/disable-function is in the dialer-config-menu by the way.
If you're going to post a thread, include a few details maybe?
And the website link you posted is not welcome on xda. Please don't post links to that site here.

Goodevening,
Yep, I got the same result as you were speakimg of. But the phone details were fake also...
Now you have to search again for the proper firmware I guess. I shall delete the file though.
You can still evive your phone, just take patience and search for the right package

[hint]lease check your load matches to your target which is to be downloaded
mediatek splash tool v5.2016.00
in the download 'list' i choose 'format-all and download' in the format tab , i select 'validation' and auto
I did a recovery before this mess. That one did not contain 'preloader' and 'userdata' image files. I copied the files from 'MT6572_ZTE_Kis_II_Max_P172R10_4.4.2_DIS_EUR_QB18D_P172R10V1.0.0_clean' this one. I get the first menu 'recovery, fastboot, normal'. If i select anyone, nothing happens. The panel light on. Phone charge works. After charge complete, the back flash light on. From PC fastboot detect the device. When I did the fastboot to flash recovery image. 'no partition error'.
thank you for your comments.
