the antenna is in the bottom section of the phone, so i'd think that having a metal back wouldn't make a difference.

I think the GPS antenna is by the flash unit, so the case may interfere with the signal.

I've already got a silicone case, and i've ordered 2 of the cases i linked to.
Thanks anyway though, i might get one of those sometime in the future.
i'm always changing the case im using so having more than one isn't a problem.
Also are there any videos of that case in action ?
save your money - i bought a black one and it was rubbish
getting it on was very stiff, you had to push the on button on the top much harder than normal and after a few days the aluminium unstuck from the plastic and i thre the whole lot away...

My Desire HD arrives in the morning, so I've just ordered a 99p silicone jobby off ebay - really not expecting much for 99p, but it should keep it nice while I do some research into the perfect case!!
I've had a hero and it's had a silicone case on it for the last 18 months - it looks pretty much like new. So who knows, maybe 99p will be enough of an investment!

The 99p/$1AUD aren't really that bad.
I bought one for my DHD when i got it in december and it's been on it ever since, it fits perfects and has protected my phone since i put it on
i have a silicon case for mine and use it when im at work, remember the phone is an aluminium shell and a screen so its pretty well protected, i use a case to protect from scratching my pretty chocolate coloured phone

Read the feedback and most say it was great for the price. One person gave it neutral feedback saying it was a tight fit. My concern would be if its that tight a fit whats the inside lining (if any made from? Is it likely to scratch and leave marks or cause wear on the phone by constantly pulling it in a out?

I personally dont think it'd fit in the case with one of those one, they seem to add a bit of bulk too it. The phone is already quite snug without putting one of those on. I dont have a camera but still have my old X1, will see if I can get some pics up.
I took some pictures of the phone in/with the case to get an idea of what its like. The phone is in alot tighter than the pictures show as you cant even wiggle the phone whilst its in the case.

Does the job nicely but don't expect high quality. Superb however for £2.90 and only took 2 days for delivery.
Just an update a couple of weeks on. I have noticed that the pull that lifts the phone from out if the case is beginning to mark the battery cover as it sits inside the tight fitting case. Might not be worth it after all.

Have had the same thing on mine after only a few days, but as the mark seems seems pretty irrevocable I'm going to stick with it. Can always buy a new battery cover if it bugs me too much.

Can you let me know how the DC Mugen one goes? I'm a big fan of their cases and they said they weren't going to make any so I ended up buying one from somewhere else.
I went for the Epik cases when I got my Nokia 5800 and they protected the phone amazingly. It wasn't too big on the phone and bounced well lol. Really protected the phone.

i ordered one of these today to replace my nexus gel cover. it looks like an improvement, will see when it arrives
FWIW - the Nexus one case I purchased as an interim case whilst waiting on something better to come out appears to be an Epik case.
The case I got is the one with the red Nexus One badge on the back.
Cost about 3 quid off ebay...
I just ordered a Mugen Epik specifically for the Desire - I bought the TPU one.
Will give you the rundown once I've recieved it.
Anyone know if there is a totally transparent one available in this type. The only ones that I could find are for the Nexus One.
Reviews of this one (any colour!) would be good though, looks a slightly bulky in the pictures but I'm guessing it will be the same as the silcone cases.

How long did the delivery take? Any chance of pictures? The ones on eBay seem out of proportion for some reason, making the case look a bit bulky.

i ordered it on 3rd May, so just over a week. it's not bulky, it looks the same as the nexus gel cover i've been using for a month when fitted to me.
i'll see if i can sort some pics out later.
the screen protector that comes with it is one of the ones with the 2 tabs to apply, also comes with a cloth.

Nice one. Your pictures do the case far more justice than the ebay pics. The smoked black is starting to grown on me.

Mine arrived yesterday (DC Mugen), it's a perfect fit for the Desire.
Just a tad bit annoying trying to unlock the phone, you have to press on the button harder with the skin on, and there's less of a 'feel' as to whether the button is pressed down or not.

Just testing it, I dropped it from about two feet and it just bounced. It has the nice little lip aound the front that protects the screen.
It also Recesses the camera lense.

It doesn't look much thicker than a standard TPU case. So I would say you're still going to be pretty slim.
Nope. It actually hardly adds to it. Plus the phone feels less fragile. I really like it. I may buy the white one too.

Here some pictures of the Body Glove case from TMoUS. It is about the same thickness/bulk of the TMoUS Gel case. Very nice quality but dread taking it apart! The two halves snapped together very firmly. I compared it to the Gel case and both are great choices depending on whether you need a belt clip/stand.
I keep mine in the larger pouch I got with my hd2 . Fits snugly

I have the expansys cradle on order as well but is not released for another 40 days or so. I also ordered a leather verticle leather case from ebay(a cheappy one) for work, but I guess I'll see which I'd prefer. I ordered the body glove one for the reason that it can kind of serve as a dock.

Bet you didn't know about the coin slot on the side,take a penny and turn and presto it's very easy to open,sometimes reading instructions help

Oh, BTW, it is testament to HTC that I have not needed access to the battery for a forced reboot. Nicely done HTC!

I purchased this cover from ebay, it arrived in a few days from Singapore. The quality is very good although the stand function isn't perfect. It offers a reasonable level of protection for the handset and overall I'm very happy with it.

Unfortunately the front flap doesn't stay closed, it's similar to the samsung galaxy flip if you've seen those.
I don't find it an issue for me but I can imagine for some it could be a problem (for example: if you were going to put your phone loose in your bag).

Like you said on the video about it not standing up quite right. Would it with time wear and become more flexible in order to do this better. Also how is it pressing the buttons and also as you mentioned when you dropped it, which part of the phone did it hit.

Yeah I expect it will wear in over time and should stand up upright a little better, the fold in the flip cover is still quite "springy" at the moment.
I can't say which part of the phone hit the floor when it fell as I wasn't watching whilst it happened. It probably fell from a little under a meter on to hard marble floor, it certainly made a loud bang (suggesting it hit somewhere on the hard back). The phone was still secure in the case and there is no visible sign of damage.
I have a little concern that if the phone hit floor on the very top or very bottom then there is a chance it will completely bypass the case. Although I think this is the same with most hard back cases.

Great, are you in the UK and if so where did you order one from. I already ordered one from ebay (~nillkin_case or something) but it said it'll take between a month and month and a half. So if there's a more viable option i'll cancel that one.
It looks great this case and there is little to choose from wrt cases that have a stand.

What do you think of them S-Line cases? How would they fair with a drop from shoulder/chest height? Also let us know how the tpu with a stand goes.

yeah I'm in the UK too. I ordered off the same ebay seller and despite them saying 4-6 weeks it arrived in about 5 days... Hope your case arrives quickly too

I emailed them and they said because it's Chinese new year, they're not working till the 14th . If only I ordered it the day before lol.
So overall you're very happy with it and would you think about getting a good TPU case like Diztronic? or even Otterbox if it's available?

Yeah, I do really like it and it's certainly good value for money (£7.50/$10). I will probably get a TPU case at some point too and a bumper to boot. I guess they're all good and suit different purposes.
Yes, during Chinese New Year's it tends to get a little busy and slow especially since Singaporeans celebrate it, some other vendors online have warned about it being slow during this time.
The back seems a little slippery. I had a Mercury TPU which is as slippery on the back as it is on the front glass, so I feel it slide when I hold it with my fingers on the front and back. I guess with a textured front cover on this it shouldn't be as bad? Has any slipperiness from the case been a problem for you? Thanks for the review, it's very helpful.

I guess it is a little slippery but it isn't something that I've really noticed or found to be a problem. The naked nexus 4 was crazy slippery, it would just glide across the desk etc. With this case it's more like a normal phone, it stays put when left alone. Perhaps the stand latch helps anchor it a little better other hardback cases.
When answering calls you'd usually fold the cover over so the inside of your hand is connected with the microfibre material which helps secure it. A small observation is that due to the flip cover having enough material to also cover one side of the phone, when folded back there is more cover than back of phone. It's a minor criticism with the design and one that doesn't really bother me.
Overall I've found the case makes the phone much less slippery but I imagine that a soft backed case (eg: TPU) would secure it even further.
