How can I send my contacts from my phone (7 PRO) to my carkit via BT?
Built in car Bluetooth sync downloads contacts/phonebook. And if you get the right speaker phone car kit like Moto roadster, your good.
Yes, firstly i select "add contacts" on my car, but i think that it is waiting for my phone, but i can't find an option to send contacts on my phone.
Here is a photo of what is my car saying to me
any ideas? Please help me

I have just a new parrot 3200 LS color installed in my car.
Pairing with Diamond is no problem.
But the connection is not stable; every now and then the BT connection drops; sometimes the parrot seems to do a reboot.
My wife had a Nokia N70 with the same problems on my carkit.
firmware of the carkit: 2.11b (Dutch)
Diamond radio: 1.00.25.05
Any tips?
same problem
hi!
i have also a parrot car kit, not the same but the same problem. the bluetooth connection is very instabil and so sometimes it is hard to phone with them...
there are any solutions fpr these problems?
thank you all and sorry for my english.
I updated the radio in my Diamond to 1.00.25.08. But this does not solve the problem.
I was just wondering whether the number of my contacts (> 500) could be the cause of the problem.

it definitely does not depend on the number of contacs, as long as you cannot use your contact in any other way as calling them with you car kit ;-)
Regards
I wondered about the number of contacts, because it takes very long (> 20 minutes) to sync my DIamond contacts to the carkit.
All contacts are stored in the carkit; so I could imagine that somewhere a bufferflow in the carkit firmware could occur.
have you tried not to sync every contact, but let's say 20 and id you try it then?
Have you tried flashing your Parrot with the latest software update? I was having a problem with my CK3300 and that solved it. It is easy to do via BT on your laptop
According to Parrot's web site 2.11b is the latest firmware
I also have an 3200LS paired with the diaomd; but experience no problems at all.
I've tried lots of ROMS also; and each and everyone works well....

I also have a lot of problems with this combination, though it used to work fine. Don't what I did to mess it up, but I did...
Mouragio, could you post your BT settings?
Using the Advanced Configuration tool, my current settings are:
- Obex: Disabled
- Use Joint Stereo: No
- Bitpool: Default
- Maximum supported bitpool: 0
- Minimum supported bitpool: 0
- Sample rate: 48000 Hz
- Audio gateway service: Disabled
- Audio gateway power save: Enabled
I have maybe a partly solution to this problem.
I have more than 500 contacts in my DIamond which are synced with the parrot.
After you for the first time pair the phone with the parrot, it requests whether it is allowed to access the contacts on the phone. I answer 'yes' on the phone.
Now the syncing starts. This lasts very long (more than 20 minutes). When you interrupt this syncing by for instance switching of the ignition of your car (after which the parrot 'says' goodbye on his screen), the parrot seems to go mad.
You have to delete the paired phone on the parrot, pair again, and let the syncing of all contacts finish. After that I had no problems any more with my bluetooth connection between phone and parrot.

Been there, done that... Didn't work for me... Syncing still seems to last forever, but sometimes it syncs within a few seconds...
I also have another problem; the BT connection is dropped after each phonecall, incoming or outgoing. Sounds familiar to anybody?
Also with me the syncing process is still strange. After I've made or received a phone call, and this call is ended, the parrot starts syncing. SOmetimes more than 30 minutes.
But after I let finish the syncing the first time after I paired the phone and parrot, I have no problems anymore with dropping of the bluetooth connection between phone and parrot.
I want to test the following:
o delete pair
o create new pair
o disallow syncing of contacts
o create VCF file (via parrot_vcf_creator.zip application that can be downloaded from parrot website) that holds your outlook contact
o send that file to the parrot.
So you have the contacts in your parrot, but they will not be synced anymore. Maybe this can 'solve' the syncing problem.
Looking at getting a new Head Unit that is able to do hands free calls and streaming from the HTC Desire, but also connect up an Ipod discretely (ideally through a rear usb port). I would much rather it had a wired remote microphone rather than one in the head unit itself.
So, what have found to work with the Desire. Any info greatly appreciated.
I am currently looking at the following units if anyone has one:
Kenwood KDC-BT60U
Pioneer DEH-P7100BT
Pioneer DEH-600BT
Sony MEX-BT5700U
JVC KD-R901
I use a Parrot Kit with my original headunit and it works great with the desire. I've got the Parrot MKi9100 which as well as bluetooth for calls supports bluetooth audio streaming, 3.5mm input, usb input (can connect phone, choose usb drive and play music from the phone) and also an iPod input too
I have bought the JVC KD-R901 and am pleased with it.
Pairing and streaming works seamlessly. You don't get track names but that is the phone's fault, not the HU as it doesn't support it. I mainly listen to audiobooks or podcasts anyway so its not much of an issue.
Getting the phone book across was a bit more of a pain though. It would not do the auto sync so I had to do the following.
Using GMail contacts on the PC I selected all and exported as a VCF file. This created a single file onto the computer. I transferred this via dropbox to the root of the SD card on the phone.
Next I installed BlueX (Bluetooth file share) app onto the phone. I put the JVC Stereo into manual phonepook transfer mode and then initiated the transfer.
On the phone I ran BlueX and selected the VCF file with a long press and selected send via bluetooth. The next screen showed the stereo as JVC Unit (unclassified) and once selected the phonebook transferred in a matter of seconds.
I can now seen the listing in the phone. The only downside is new entries will need to be done manually, but given the whole phonebook can be exported and uploaded in about 5 minutes I am not too worried about that.
Hopefully this may be of use to others.
I have the Alpine CDE-103BT.
The phonebook synced correctly and calls can be made and received fine (both when I had the stock UK T-Mobile ROM and now with the Modaco Froyo ROM). Only thing that still won't work properly is voice dialling.
It has a wired mic, and iPod support is through a cable on the back of the unit. It also has front USB and line-in sockets, though I've never used them for music as I always have my iPod with me.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Bryan.
If you are on a budget like I was and don't mind something that works well but doesn't offer much for features, the Sony BT2800 isn't a bad purchase. I got it at some electronics website for $135 with free shipping, mounting kit and wire harness. Phone calls sound good, the caller can hear me well, music streamed sounds good and it's easy to setup/use. Display doesn't show caller ID (at least not on my TP2 and Desire), and no phonebook support. Also, the desire does not support voice activation through it (my tp2 it worked great) so not having phone book support is inconvenient but this is the Desires fault, not the radios. Overall, it does what I need it to and it was not expensive. A good bluetooth headset sells for about the same at retail.
Pioneer DEH-600BT
I do car audio installs on the side of my actual job and most of the peoples are I install stuff, are happy that I told them to go with Pioneer, because of the sound quality and functionality for price. iv had people install Sony and other brands and pioneer is unmatched right below them to me is Alpine but personally i think the products are over priced
if you have any other questions feel free to PM me
I'm very happy with my Parrot MKi9100 as well.
Jvc is a pile of %%#% my avx44 which cost £400 broke just a month out of warranty and they refused to fix it.
pioneer definately. i use one with my desire via bluetooth for calls and music and has ipod wired up to glove box. downloads phonebook from phone and show ipod music the same way it is set up on ipod

Which unit did you get?
I've got a Kenwood BT-60U and it works quite nicely now.
Adressbook sync works, although there some strange entries in the HU and you can not choose a letter to begin you search with (well, you can but it always starts at A).
With 2.1 (or a Sense rom - I'm not sure if 2.2 or a AOSP rom made the difference) I always had connection losses.
I use it only to have a hands free car kit and for that purpose it works well enough - the sound quality is okay and its nicely integrated with e.g. USB playback (basically I can charge my Desire & listen to music from SD while having BT handsfree on )
Parrot Mki9000 here, its a deadly combination with upgradable software - unlike HUs.
Plus a wireless remote which I can mount anywhere and remove for security.

mine was the older deh 500bt unit. also has 3 separate outputs so upgrading speaker equipment is a doddle.
On a budget?
Wharfedale ICS182
£49.99 from Argos, I got mine for £32 of ebay!
Bluetooth hands free, USB, SD Card, CD Player, its great and works brilliantly with the Desire, sound quality is great and better than the JVC unit I took out. Hands free works great and no one has a problem hearing me even if I talk low.
Just checked mine agin and realised i gave you the wrong model number mine is the pioneer deh p800bt. excellent bit of kit.
I have a Pioneer DEH-P75BT, but can not get it to connect my Desire automatically, can anyone help?

if you used to have another phone connected disconnect it and clear the phone book memory. then go through the reconnection process. after this ensure that automatic connection is turned on on the head unit. turn car off and blutetooth on the phone on. then turn the car back on with the stereo. leave for a few seconds and the switch to the phone setting on stereo. if still not connected leave for about a minute to see if it works.
i had to try a few times but after it connected once automatically it worked perfectly. also you could try setting it all ready for the automatic connection and then making a call. i find this helps if music streaming doesnt connect. just hit play and then all of a sudden bluetooth kicks in.
I am planning to buy the Smartwatch, however there is one thing I am not sure of. Can I connect my phone to the Ford Sync (with phone capabilities) and the SmartWatch at the same time? I checked numerous forums, but couldnt find the info I needed. Anyone?
how does ford sync connect to phones? bluetooth? smartwatch.. bluetooth!
question is... how many bluetooth devices can you connect to an sgs3 (or any phone)

You can have multiple bluetooth devices connected at once but they cannot use the same profiles.
For instance, you can connect to a stereo a2dp profile on one bluetooth device and a phone profile on another device simultaneously.
I connect to 3 devices at once, a stereo bluetooth dongle in the car, a headset, and an OBDII Elm327 diagnostic vehicle scanner.
In your case, if you want to connect to both, you need to uncheck the "Call audio" in the settings for that specific device. Make sure only "Media audio is connected". Next, for your headset, if it only supports "Call audio" i.e. the phone profile, then your done and you don't need to do anything. If your headset is a newer one that supports media audio, you'll need to go to the settings and do just the opposite you did for the car media bluetooth and deselect "Media audio" leaving only "Call audio" checked.

that should answer your question
Thanks for your reply... I had actually searched and figured out the limitation. I know iOS allows multiple Bluetooth notifications and I was wondering if there is a hack or something for Android as well. I would like the phone profile available on the watch and on while I am on the car. It is really inconvenient to switch on/off the profiles depending on where I am.. Manually.

You can use a tool like tasker to set on/off any device basedon on your location. Also can use it to set any profile to your devices.
I didn't need to do anything!
Both worked together! I am glad!

The problem is caused by your car and not your moto g. For some reason, it's presenting itself as a rSAP device, which ofcourse is the remote SIM profile.
Does the car audio system have got some settings related to in what mode Bluetooth should operate into?
On a side note, the nexus devices are lacking the rSAP profile in their Bluetooth stack, that's why it didn't work with your N4 (presumably your car bt was requesting rSAP access, which makes sense).

Thank you for the information liveroy.
I which I know what is in my car, my car is 2011 VW CC. Check with VW web, no information about rSAP.:crying:
I just bought a new unlocked moto z4 from Lenovo. When I pair my z4 to my 2004 BMW, it pairs fine but phone contact does not get transferred to car. With my "old" moto z2 force, after phone paired with car, I would see a dialog box in z2 force asking me whether to allow contact to be sync to car. My z4 does not have this dialog box to confirm phone contact to be synced to car. Instead, I saw a notification "SmartDevice Link (SDL)" and this notification disappeared very quick. Car still can make call or receive call via bluetooth but it looses several features : redial, top 8, phone contact, etc.
I tried to clear the bluetooth app cache and storage then restarted phone. After that redid the pairing with car again, but no luck. Any suggestion to get the contact to be transferred to car ?
What is SDL and how to disable it in z4 ?
Thanks,
Ching-Ho Cheng
In the Bluetooth settings, touch "Previously connected devices" then touch the gear icon for your car's bluetooth system and there's a switch to allow contact sharing. There's also a checkbox when pairing to allow contact sharing.
