Question - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

I've been working on my own themes for a while and I'm having an issue. I've been importing the png files and 2 things have been driving me nuts. When I import the circle battery mod the image becomes corrupted or something? It imports but the picture looks disfigured or the lines blur together. Also I've been importing images that claim to NOT be rgb however they are colored! I know how to correctly use the.9 png tool and my issue is not related to user error. I use my photoshop every day for my jobs. I can't understand this at all and assume it has some little trick to get it to work. I know it can be done or there wouldn't be so many battery mods or diaper mods. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

34 views and no responses? Wow! Lol I thought this would be answered in no time... I didn't want to waste time creating 100 or so images for the battery mod alone just to find out it won't work... it looks like I might have 2 though. Any input may be helpful so even if you don't KNOW but have a guess I'd love to hear it!

I have NO idea if this will help, but if you're creating CBM for gingerbread there's a good tutorial on the romrepo wiki, maybe there's a step in there that is different. Check it out. Also, member 808bill has been updating the CBM for each new build, you could try and PM him. Good luck.

Also check with condemnedsoul. He has a 100 png batt mod. He might be able to give you suggestions.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll just take a shot at it while I'm looking for the info. Who knows? Maybe I'll get it right the first time... doubtful but I'll give it a shot. I'm going to try it on froyo first became there's lots of information on it. Besides that, I'm not impressed with GB other than Kifno's GB "sense" rom. My gps refuses to lock and I need it for work from time to time. Anyway, thanks for the attempt guys. I'll let you know when and if I get it done!

No. Actually I haven't. But I use latitude with my kids and I'm not sure if sprint nav has a feature similar to it.

Google Latitude is on your phone if you have maps installed. Sprint navigation is not the same thing. I have never had any gps issues. Have you tried downloading the gps status application and using it to update your gps?

Yes I have used the gps app to update the settings. Thanks for the suggestions. I know how latitude works. I'm well aware that it's on my phone and I do use it. I'm happy with froyo anyway.
Thanks for all the suggestions though. I just want to theme my battery lol

You just know this sub forum is BURNING HOT right now when this thread has 79 views in 12 minutes LOL
Yup, 1 minute from downloading left. LOL, exciting stuff happening all over XDA today.
i really wish i wasn't so stubborn on waiting for camera and mms.
I am still waiting too.... but its ok, I am happy trying them out and seeing where we are at. I will be more than happy whenever it happens
2.1 uh oh
Tehe, thus far I've held off on the 2.1 builds because stuff hasn't been working, I guess since I'm backing up my device and switching ROM builds today anyway I'll have to just accidentally pop this on there and see what happens :-D
Edit: Was unable to get the Market to work at all. No FC message, just fails to start.

Can anyone confirm if the Verizon FIOS Mobile Remote app is or isn't available in the Market with this ROM?
Wow, this ROM FREAKING FLIES.
The pinch to zoom on the home screen is blazing fast. I am extremely impressed. 2.1 on our devices is going to be awesome. Thanks again for your hard work Gbhil!!!!
**Edit**
Location, like all other 2.1 ROMs I've tried though, is off. It initially said I was in Kansas City, which is right, but it quickly changed to "Washington" which is what the other roms said, which DEFINITELY isn't right
Could someone who has run both this one an flipz new release compare the two? I'd really like to know how they differ if they do at all. Thanks in advance

Oh trust me I know that reading is a good thing, I'm not that big of a n00b lol, but I just wanted some first hand experiences like how the ROMS feel, not necessarily what's in them
To add to my previous post, the location services are working fine, it just seems (like in other 2.1 roms) that the location noted in the HTC home screen clock is what isn't working properly.
I get the correct location returned in one of my test apps, and see myself fine in the Google maps v4, so I dunno...maybe there's something missing with the HTC Location Services apk?
Oh yeah, and SetCPU is awesome on this rom too
would i have to wipe this coming from fresh rom??
i had force close on "3g Update"?!?!
I just noticed: txt messages after daylight savings got a bit screwy for some people, where messages would be stamped an hour earlier and be out of order. Now Ive sent and recieved a few txts and they are showing the correct order and timestamps.
Anyone else?

Lost my Captivate...What Now....

So today I left my captivate in a Cab....and definitely will not be able to get it back I flashed a custom rom and forgot to reload Lookout Security or some service to track my phone, so no luck there...
Question: What should I do now. I definetly need to buy another smartphone, but the question is...which one? Should I wait for something like the Galaxy S2? (Could still be a ways from launch). I live in Canada and I am on Rogers. Should I just pick up another Captivate? Your thoughts/Suggestions.
PS: Does the bell Samsung Vibrant if unlocked work with 3g for rogers?

Now, remember Plan B and use it the next time you lose the phone. It works. I didn't lose my phone, but I tried it out. GPS reception in my home is poor, so it showed the phone in the wrong room, but certainly in the correct house, close enough. It's not something you want to leave on your phone, because it sends a constant stream of text messages to your email with the location of the phone, but if you lose the phone, it will show you where it is, assuming any GPS signal can be received and it has network access.

[GPS Scripts][DEC.05.2011 1.2 REGIONAL LOCATIONS RELEASED!]

DEC 05 2011:
REGIONAL GPS Scripts Updated from 1.0 to 1.2!
[This is a duplicate post I posted in the Aria forum] Mods if this is in the wrong forum and better suited in the general forum, please feel free to move.
Greetings All,
I would like some people to beta test something I have been working on in the HD2 forum, which I think will benefit MOST people. I cant guarantee it will work for everyone. I started this project in the HD2 forum because the GPS drivers are not complete with agps support, and made a new gps script to aide in helping lock times to be quicker, and to lock onto more sats. Which has been successful.
I have an Aria that I had laying around and my daughter wanted to use, so I decided to let her use it, which I just rooted, flashed a stock att rom, and upped the radio to current, then installed gps status and tried testing the gps. I was getting 2 sats with difficulty, after I replaced the gps.conf file, my lock time shortened very quickly and instantly had locks to 9 sats.
So even though I know the file is universal and just about any android phone can use this, I would like if people could try my file and post results here to see if it helps people with trouble with their GPS and even if you dont have trouble, if you just want to try it.
Some Inspire users that I have suggested this to have had positive results, which lead me to post in this forum to help and see if it makes a difference for anyone else. (I have an Inspire 4G as well)
Most from what I see only get a lock to 4 or 5 sats, seems 9-12 is unheard of. The files are in CWR so flashing it through recovery should not be a problem. If you want you can just pull the gps.conf file from the zip and adb push the file. The link obviously is in my Signature, but just to make it easy:
Instantaneous GPS Fixation v1.2! *FOR ALL ANDROIDS PHONES!*
Of course by the name, I have made files for the USA broken down into 6 regions, and I also made files for 62 countries.
If it works for you, please hit the Thanks button, do not fill the posts up with Thanks thats what the mods made a button for. If you feel the urge to donate, please feel free coffee does wonders.
But I am more then happy just to give back to XDA with what I can. If any Dev's wish to use any of my files, you may do so as long as credit is given where credit is due.
All 1.0 Files have been upgraded, Please read The Original Post about the Updates
I'll give it a go!
Edit: 18 sec. lock indoors with 8 sats.
My gps has been pretty fast before, still going to try this out.
Didn't work well for me. 3 sat fix almost instantly but then it would take about 5 min to get a location lock and the accuracy was absolute ****e. With stock settings I could lock outside in 15-20 sec with 20 meter accuracy. Guess I need to learn to leave good 'nuf alone.
Sent from me using this thing.
With the app GPS status.. my CM7 (final build) takes 2 minutes to reach 2-3 satellites and the app isn't done testing! With this script, the app took 6 seconds for full 7 sat lock on! 6 seconds and the app was DONE testing...! Thank you!!!! ps testing was in-doors.
You get a wink OP. Thats how amazing this script is. Inside, during a thunderstorm, I got 11 SAT locks Amazing stuff.
Are you guys flashing 1.1(region) or 1.0(country)?
I flashed country as the Northeast one wouldn't download on my phone lol Works just fine. But Im going to try the Northeast one today and see if I get the same results.

The 1.1 has been broken down for the US regions, all the links should work, remember they will not download from a phone, and I have no idea why, but if anyone has any trouble downloading the files check to make sure you have pop-up blockers off, also if you click on it it will open a new window with a blank page and a gold download bar, or you could try right clicking the link and try open in new tab.
the new versions are more focused specifically for the different regions.
But I am glad its working well for most of you. Glad to help out.

My GPS never locks :(

I bought my phone from wind and it came with froyo. the gps used to work but ever since i put on eaglesblood rom my gps doesnt work. ive tried lots of other roms and my gps still wont lock on me does anyone know do you fix this?
not sure how much of a difference tmobile and wind models have, but you can always do some searching 1st. Google is awesome, usually brings me back here to xda. theres alot of fixes, you just need to search 1st, Then use trial and error. find what works for your phone. That worked for me before i updated my baseband to July which then resulted in instant GPS locks. Try search 1st. did you run a nandroid backup to restore to?
Sorry I know is blasphemy to say this but I'm sort of a newb. My younger brother got me familiar with how to root my phone and stuff and I'm pretty sure I have a July baseband but everytime I search I don't really find an answer. So I thought I'd give it a shot and just ask
For a long time it took between 5 and 10 minutes for me to get a lock. I tried every remedy out there and nothing helped. This was with the Weapon Rom. Well one day I screwed up something in recovery and had to start from scratch. Literally I had to reload Clockworkmod and start with nothing.
Anyway, after reloading Weapon 3.0 I get locks within 5 to 30 seconds. Have no idea why. I don't think the Rom has changed. I am not using any of the hacks, tweaks, apps etc. Just happy it works now.
Thats so strange when you mention that cause before eaglesblood, weapon g2x was my favourite. its a really good rom but yeah I just checked my baseband on my phone and it says Jun 05 2011. I know hardware wise tmobile and wind g2x are the same, winds' just has no bloatware on it really. No t-mobile apps

Boot - Long Wait

Hi,
I would just like to know if there's a fix on my phone's long wait on bootup. It's taking about 3 minutes when I reboot (Using Quickboot App/or if I do a battery pull).
So I would just like to know is there a way to make it faster (except installing a custom ROM). I'm using the default ROM BTW, I never installed a custom one like CM7 or anything. I just rooted my phone using the Advanced Ace Hack Kit.
I heard installing a custom ROM helps with that but I'm trying to find a more simple way to fix this problem. Well it's not much of a 'problem' really, more like an annoyance.
So anyway, if someone could help me, I would highly appreciate it.
Thanks and have a nice day.
P.S. Here's a video of my phone booting up. Sorry for the poor video quality, my BlackBerry 9700 isn't much of a camcorder.

Sorry, I might have misunderstood, but your phone takes 3 minutes to reboot?? that not much at all. You can delete the bootanimation and that will make the start up faster...
Yup, as you can see from the video. So are you telling me that a 3-minute boit up is normal? That's not good LOL.
And yeah I tried with the default bootscreen and it wasn't much of a difference.

3 minutes is ok. Mine takes about the same and there's nothing wrong with it....but bootanimations make your cell slower...but I guess it's worth the waiting!
