Is your fast boot checked on?

Yup. Should I Uninstall ROM Manager?

Remove and reinsert the battery. Then while holding volume down, press and hold power button till you see the hboot screen.

You actually have to uncheck fastboot. That will do it.

While the phone is on, press restart. As soon as it starts to reboot hold the volume down and power button. Don't let go until you're in hboot

Uh oh
so after i installed MIUI with the dual boot app, it asked me if I wanted to boot into it. I am now sitting am my boot screen and it's not budging. I pulled the battery out and tried the volume up and power button but it vibrated a few times and gave me a blinking amber light. I am rebooting and sitting at a boot screen again after pulling the battery. I have ext4 recovery installed as well and cant get to hboot and then recovery. What do i do now?
after trying volume down and power, im good.
Been awhile since I last had to do this
so, what's the deal with the boot issue I had with this app.. Anyone else?

Did you install using ext2? Also did you let it sit long enough? When I first installed a rom, it took around 7 minutes on the white htc screen and then it booted. Its using your sdcard so your first boot is way longer than usual

So a buddy of mine gave me a bricked sensation today. He has insurance so he already got a new one. Apparently he rooted it and tried to flash a from but didn't reboot. I know it doesn't make sense but the phone won't boot into CWM . When I power it on, I just get a black screen with the back light on.

How to stop AT&T from automatically downloading 2.20 update?

Hello, I just got an HTC One X (came from the Galaxy Nexus) and have been read about the 2.20 update and how it brings inability to root the phone. For the past couple of days every time I reboot my phone it asks me if I want to update, but now it's automatically updating! There was no box asking me if I wanted to wait to update or anything! I have my phone powered off currently to keep it from downloading the new update, but is there any way I can get it to stop? Thanks in advance!
Root your phone, unlock your bootloader, flash CleanROM. Problem solved.

I've tried that but I run into a problem. I power the device off, wait a few seconds, then push the power + volume down to get into the bootloader. When I do this, the touch keys flash on and off about 10 times and then stop. When I let go of them, the phone just reboots normally. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

If you're on an AT&T One X I don't think we get the HTC tourch app. I don't have it either. And yeah like he said if you were rooted your phone would say tampered and relocked. And your carier takes care of tethering. Go to settings and then click on more. Hotspot or tethering should be right there

Charging only.
USB debugging doesn't need to be on.
Essentially, plug in the phone, run the RUU. It will tell you what to do.

Phone connects to PC as MTP-device.
Is it a feature or a bug?
