Original TG01 Contacts Import/Export CAB/Application? - TG01 Themes and Apps

Hi guys,
Been trying a few new ROM's on my TG01, but I've stored all my contacts in the Export file of the original contacts importer/exporter application that came with the phone. Some ROM's don't include anything to import this... so... can you guys help me know where to get this CAB, or suggest a free alternative CAB to import my contacts please?
Thank you. (and yes... I've tried searching )

i wouldnt use the original supplies contact backup.. its rubbish! i also dont have a cab for you. I did use spb backup a while back, but its not good as it backsup rom bugs and doesnt work from 6.5 to 6.1 ( corrupts phone)
I highly, highly recommend using PIM Backup - its free, simple and very powerful with a lot of features!
cheers

i use the orginal toshiba contacts backup to store or import my phone contacts. i have over 1200 phone contacts. it works fine- import with each ROM/miROM
good works also the PIM Backup (in all my miROMs) if you like i send you my contacts to see that it works fine by import.

Yes please, i would very much appreciate it if you have it Only 78 contacts lol.

My suggestion:
1 Full backup your present Rom (Spb backup)
2 Reinstall your former Rom
3 Restore your contacts
4 Save them again with PimBackup
5 Reinstall your new Rom
6 Restore your contacts from Pimbackup
Best wishes

I have the same problem, can any one bring tha CAB file I think it much easier than this long processes.
Thank you,,

Is there anyway to back-up MMS???

Hey guys,
Basically... Running WM5, and looking to upgrade to WM6. I've been able to back up my SMS and contacts with outlook and jeyo.
But how can I back-up my MMS's? I'm not to fussed about having to restore them back on the phone, and ultimately I don't want to overwrite any new data files on the phone with old stuff from WM5?
So has anyone been able to successfully back up MMS before onto a computer? Or anyway at all?

Consider to try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705
But be sure to test it completely before upgrading, and keep a copy of your pim.vol
This tool is new and may contain bugs.
Cheers,

Looks good, thanks for that... Will it work purely with just MMS or does it have to restore the entire messages including SMS and emails and what not?

All the existing accounts in the database are listed with their directories, all you have to do is select the account and/or the directories that you want to backup. No need to backup anything you don't want to. If a directory contains messages, the number is shown on its right side in brackets.

Where is the "contacts" database on wm6?

I'm trying to make a contacts list for iTask.
Where is the file where you can read the contacts list on wm5/6?
(And yes, I've searched the forum up and down, and google)
Thanks for any reply
I know that before you wipe your device you can save /device/PIM.VOL file to your storage and then after you restore you can copy this back to the root directory and all of your contacts will be intact.
Good Luck!!

thanks! this was what i feared. Is there any program that can backup contacts to xml ? (the best would be invicible)
Not sure about that..Hopefully someone else will have an answer.
I have done it already in SCLPF
Hey mate,
You're at the crossroad I faced. Quickest way is to use .net cf2 in either C# or C++ or VB to access the POOM database. This will also allow you to access the calendar and tasks as well as contacts. This is the easiest way I found to get any information or picture etc from an Outlook Contact. I'm not sure how easy it will be playing around with that VOL file.

Can yopu help me out, I have just got a Palm Treo, it runs WM6.
If lists contact Last Name First. The only way to change this is to change the "File As" option on each contact.
Is there an easy way of doing this .... with code even.
Thanks mate

PimBackUp
It can back up the database an aparently do alot with it on your pc.
WR
simply sync your contacts with outlook and export them to excel.

Please help: Backup a locked up device-over only active sync- please look

My device an Atom Life WM 6 has locked up.
-the screen is locked up on windows boot image- cant control pocket pc
-soft reset battery pull anything i can think of does not help
-my safemode program isnt helping
Only option is HARD reset
Before I do that-
surprisingly can receive calls and sync over active sync
how can i back up the following:
- SMS - most important
- Contacts - second important
are there locations of these databases.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you
pim.vol
Hi
The phone module is seperate from the rest of the operating system, hence being able to function when WM has stopped responding.
I think that these databases are in a file called pim.vol. I can't be sure though. Maybe some other members can advise about back up software that runs entirely on the pc. The latest version of Sprite Backup perhaps?
Cheers

If AS works then try Jeyo Mobile Companion, it runs purely on the PC and if it will connect then you should be able to export the stuff you need.
I copied over pim.vol but thats only contacts and tasks/appointments.
Anyone know the location of sms db.??
Unfortunately i do not have spb bakcup installed, dont think i can at this point.
I hope Jeyo works...
thank you
jeyo download sms's automatically.. but you will have to install a client side app.. if it doesn't do that automatically
just a suggestion for the future.
schedule a backup using PIMBackup2.8 to your storage card every once in a while..
the sms and emails are stored in "cemail.vol"
ok go here and install this http://www.mymobiler.com/
Once you have active synced your deivce, you can control it from ur PC
Then find and install PIM backup (using mymobiler). Then backup using PIM backup all your messages, contacts etc.
I find this better than using Sprite backup as this backs up registry too which might not always be a good idea when having problems. Its nice to have a simple PIM back up when needing to do a hardreset.

Me, very long way to go for that. Only been on here for 18 months when work decided they wanted to try something on WM5 phones. That didnt work out and I have snaffled one of them for myself. Have tried many things to get a finger friendly PPC and am as near it as I need.

Diamond 2:Unable to Recover Contacts

Hi,
I had close to 300 contacts on my mobile until I got a new ROM update for Europe based HTC Diamond 2 systems. Once when I applied these changes, it wiped out all of my contacts with no trace...
I tried searching for options where I can store my contact details to my memory card but I couldnt find one option.
Can someone please help me as well as provide any other new alternatives to make sure that I dont loose my contacts the next time when I update my mobile...
Any help will be greatly appreciated...
Hey there,
Forget about trying to store contacts in other places, the best thing you can do before updating your phone in anyway is either backup your entire system using a good backup software such as Sprite Backup, or SPB Backup but this should NOT be used if changing ROMS.
What i always do is use PIM backup before a rom change. This free app backs up your contacts, emails etc and is simple to use and virually fool proof. I have enclosed the zip file for you, its a stand alone app, so just copy it to your programs folder or storage card and create a shortcut in your programs folder. (Thanks to its creator, such a brilliant app!)

Sync your contacts to MS My Phone
On your PC, log in to http://sn1-p1.myphone.microsoft.com/
Under Phone, select Contacts.
At the top of the Contacts page, select Find Duplicates.
In the resultant list, delete what you choose.
On your phone, run MS My Phone and sync your contacts again. This will remove everything you deleted at the website.
I very often find duplicate contacts. I have long wondered how to solve this problem, and Scrubly Duplicate Remover came to my aid. This really works well for me. This tool is really useful and indeed an effective one.
