What's up with this, i had my phone plug in now for two hours and is at 49% from 5% that it was when i plug it in. I am using the wall charger.
Is this normal, or do i have a bad battery.
It would take my old phone about hour to fully charge (iphone).
seems really slow. I was using my wall charger also might try and different wall charger or PC next time

I would think the PC would take even longer since it puts out less power via USB. I'll give it a shot next time i drain the bat.
I wonder if we will see it speed up after the first few full drains. It just seems really weird might be a bug who knows.
My first charge was awfully slow, it's been charging much faster since the initial charge. I would say give it a few days before you go swapping the chargers out.
i believe my captivate was slow charging for the first week or so.
Same here. Charges about 15% an.hour. was on the charger at 21% for approximately 3hrs and 56 minutes last night... if I used it at all while it was charging its almost like it would pause.. the battery stat wouldn't go up at all!

So 4 hours later i am at 82% and charging.
I did have to unplug at around 55% for about 20 min while i went somewhere.
This is ridiculous.
Ive noticed the same thing. Hopefully it will get faster.
Yea samsung is known for that on my captivate and epic which is why I need to make it through to the night so I can plug in and forget about it.
Taking my phone back to swap out. Is taking 5 to 6 hours to charge. I cannot have the phone plug in that long. While I can do I overnight I will loose charge in the day and will have to have it plug in the whole time to charge it up.
I called Samsung and they said 3 to 4 hours Max.

Yes charging is definitely slow, it took about 5 hrs to charge from 30 to 100%! This is my 2nd Infuse so swaping won't help.
I use Kindle's white charger (750ma i think), and it seems to charge relatively fast.
It is a 1750mah battery, so it will take longer.
Overall, u just need a more powerfull charger.

I've yet to see over 9hours with slightly heavy use. I would be glad to see 24hrs let alone 2days.
Yeah first several days are always sucky when it comes to battery life.
However, just look at official battery life specs - infuse is 8 hour vs captivate's 5.
Also standby is longer. I think it'll be fine when it's broken in and we don't play with the new toy as much.
I had to go through a few charging cycles with mine and now it's fast charging. Glad I got rid of the Atrix last Sunday.

Ya it takes time to break in I guess. I'm using kindle charger now which is probably slower. Using the charger that came with (or I know my nook color charger is 2a) would probably be faster

Physisc lol seems like you cut. Physics class, haven't you heard about rapid chargers?
I just called Samsung they told me even if I buy fast charger it won't work because the software design to regulate the amount of current when charging is set to a certain amp to not damage the battery,
So it is not physics it is just common sense because they told me that it is software. And the software has nothing to do with your 1750mah and your physics knowledge dreams of yours. And stop reminding me of physics I hate that class is too boring for me so I just sleep on my physics class.

Off course my grammar sucks because I only have been here in the US in a year, and I am lucky enough to live here in santa clarita where almost all American do not care about grammars, they are so educated enough to understand people who don't grew here in the US, and they don't use the word troll, I love living with white people. And hate talking to people tell other they are troll and he's not.
By the way try to go to Taiwan let us see how your grammar is in 1 year and 2 months then ask yourself if you are a troll or shrek

LMAO at this thread.
Butt seriously, this guy has a perfectly valid point. The Infuse charges MUCH more slowly than any previous android phone I've had. It's not even close, and it can't all be explained by a bigger battery. The battery in my Droid X was very close to the number of mAH of the Infuse, yet it would charge 3 to 4 times faster.
Does anyone know the maximum amount of current the Infuse is set up to use when charging? That way at least we'd know if it's pointless to get a new charger beyond a certain number of amps.
If you use a OC kernel, you can set it at 100mzh max speed while charging. Not sure if this will charge faster.
My htc inspire charger charges my infuse much faster than the one that came with it

According to comments in the kernel code, 600 mA. Unfortunately without the MAX8998 datasheet, I only have comments to go by. Unlike most of Maxim's products, the 8998's datasheet does not appear to be public. That's battery input current, then there's the current needed to just keep the phone running which is ???
It's possible to increase the current, I'm running a test kernel that does it. However before unleashing it on the public I need to do some testing, such as:
1) Figure out whether it gracefully handles input "voltage droop" from weaker chargers such as the AT&T car charger and many other car chargers out there. All of my new 1A chargers are actually not 1A chargers, good thing they were just over a buck apiece. (The MC34063A used in them can't reliably output 1A at 5v when off of a 12v supply.)
2) If it doesn't, if there is a way to make it do so.
3) What sort of battery overtemperature protections there are, if any. If there aren't, the current needs to stay where it is.
Hopefully this can be tweaked in the kernel... My 2100 mAh car charger could charge my Captivate 20% in a 15 minute car ride. The Infuse? Not so much...

I'll take a look at that at some point. Unfortunately he includes source in a tar file, not on github, so I can't just browse to it from wherever.
As I mentioned above, it IS possible to increase the charge current in our devices by setting the MAX8998 PMIC's current limit differently, and I do have a kernel with the change integrated running on my device, but before publishing a kernel for public use I want to spend some time investigating possible negative side effects.
I personally couldn't care less. I easily make it to an overnight charge and then it can take as long as it wants (I'm on my third day of uncharged use right now). I'd rather the battery charge slowly and preserve it peak charging capacity (or as close to it as possible).

I think that *most likely*, other than the fact that weak-ass USB chargers abound and that could cause issues with higher charge current settings, it is safe to bump up our charge current 20%, since our battery capacity is 20% higher.
i.e. charge current up by 20% (which is what my current kernel tweak does) compared to other phones keeps our charge rate in terms of C the same as other phones.
I won't be porting any of the other charge tweaks from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996631 to our kernels myself - in fact if anything to keep the battery from getting abused, I might pair the increased charge current with a more conservative topoff/charge termination threshold.
One thing that's interesting is our kernel seems to claim some sort of "step charging" code, however it seems to always go to max charge rate even when the battery is in the 90s. I still need to make sense of the stepcharging routine - it looks like it would just cycle between 4 different current settings constantly, but in reality it goes right to the max in all situations except for when the battery is in constant-voltage charging (near charge termination).

Yeah that's great for you, but for those of us whose phones die in 12-15 hours, not so much. In addition, the fact that the battery discharges while being charged in the car and running nav is kind of ridiculous.
Hello all. I had an issue w/ my proximity sensor so I got an AE. It was defective, so I got ANOTHER AE.
Since I owned my EVO I always get extended batteries. I bought a 2750mah and it worked great. Then it started charging slowly.
I got giftcards to Best buy for my birthday so I got a new on there. (Sedio 3400 I believe)
Now when I try to charge my phone, it will literally take 2 hrs or so to get 15-20% charged.
I use my handset heavily, but w/ my EVO it was like 2hrs = a full charge and all day heavy use got me to a minimum of 25%.
I know LTE is to blame for a little battery drain, but any ideas? Full charge to 30% in like 5 hrs sometimes. Should I order another AE?
I'm on stlck w/ the most current software btw. Thanks.

No simple answer here but if you root your phone many options exist to fix this battery issue. Recal the battery would be the first option. If you are able Root try that and come back and report.

Had my baby for a little over a year and a half, been nothing but a great phone in that time. This is where the problem starts... I'll be using it like normal, texting and surfing, and will have 98% battery, the phone will shut down, and when it decides to start back up, I will have 14% battery or less.... But it will go up if I leave it alone..... I've tried wiping the battery stats, even charging with the phone off, nothing is working. I will attach screenshots so you can see what's up.

Your battery is bad. Same thing happened to me, I recommend just buying a new OEM battery from a reputable dealer on Amazon, that's what I did. Try setting it down on a table and push on one side and if it rocks back and forth its bad. Or you can just look at it and see its swollen
Mine did that and it was just a bad battery. If you take the battery out and place it on a flat surface you may notice that it rocks left and right. If it rocks a lot or if you feel the middle and it feels swollen it may be symptoms of a bad battery.

It is dangerous because battery acid can get on you and cause sever skin irritation. You can continue like this for 1 to 2 days MAX until you get your new battery. Try not to use it because using it more will cause it to swell more, DUH try to only use it for emergencies and then once you get the new battery clean the terminals and you'll be good to go
I used mine got a while like that because i didn't know it was the battery lol

I'm curious about charging habits of the people who have bad batteries. I have had my phone since the day it came out and my battery is still fine. I never let it get below 30% unless I'm testing a new ROM. Killing lithium ion batteries is really bad for them. So how many of you drain it all the way on a regular basis?
I'm still using my old vibrant battery (at times). I don't think that it's as strong as the spare that I purchased a few months ago, but, is on par with the 18 month old battery that came with the phone. I zap them all the way down a lot of the time (then swap to a fully charged one). I do(try) to recharge to full before use though.
Mine does it but only when I'm using wifi or data could that still be a bad battery

That is probably a bad idea. I would try to plug it in around 15-20% with 20% being the best time. According to the batteryuniversity website 20-80% is ideal for li-ion batteries because it keeps the heat down. Charging from less than 15% creates heat because that is a low level and takes a bit longer to charge from therefore exposes the battery to more heat. A good charger and battery will shut off the charger once it hits 100% and only allow for a trickle charge if the battery drops below 100%. But I have seen my phone get hotter from about 85% to 100% if Im using it ie: plugged in and streaming music or using navigation.
Simple question guys.

Impact on Battery Life with Quickcharge
I have not experienced any Battery Problems jet and i'm charging it every night and my Battery is fine.
quick charger is in the box still. I use what was a Blackberry tablet charger 1.8A with fixed 6ft MicroUSB cable attached. I know a lot of people are getting below average battery life but in my case I'm very impressed with the battery life. I had my first S6 which was decent in battery life for a month, then I switched to the LG G4 for a couple of weeks and now I'm back on the S6. Battery life has really impressed me granted I'm rooted and running a custom rom.

Running rooted stock on ATT, Google Now and location history off, location set to GPS only, I typically get 16-18 hours off charger with 3.5-4 hours screen on. Mostly Facebook/browsing/forums/g+. No gaming.

yes
I'm getting a minimum of 5 Hours screen on time over 48 hour period and around 5.5 to 6 over 24 hours. Quickcharge just means I won't be caught short if i'm using GPS a lot.
I am still testing differences between regular Samsung charger and the quick one ... And for now I think if you charge your phone over night with the regular Samsung charger it gets a bit better ... But I still need more time to come to dome conclusive answers ...

For me it seems to as I don't think there's any problem with the battery on my S6. I always have portable battery packs with me, but I LOVE the rapid charger, it's one of my favourite features. I love getting up seeing my phone at like 15% because I forgot to charge it and thinking crap have to go to work in 20 mins, and being able to plug it in and have it be at like 50% in such a short time period. I find it good enough that it's the only charger I use and make sure I don't lose it!
