$550 plus tax for US sensation

When was the last time a phone was this high? It will probably be like 575 after taxes... after watching all of the videos.. it doesn't seem worth the price of a computer. This is like crime. I always buy my phones out right because I don't like to wait for contract renewals but another 75? I bet if they added more internal memory and a better video camera and screen it would be like 800 huh? Lol maybe I need to back off on being a phone fanatic lol

That was still Google branded but the majority of HTC US phones are like 500. I dunno.. I ain't flipping out but if the price is gonna continue to go up, they can be more solid with their product functionality

Amazon lists the Atrix for $599, and the Droid X for $559. I agree it's way too much. Just saying...

For whatever reason I had $499 on my mind...
$549 plus tax in LA @9.75% equals $602 and some change...
At this price point, I'm reconsidering purchasing this phone now as I'm pretty happy with the MyTouch 4G running Virtuous Fusion 1.1.2.

That's presently irrelevant in the US, because it hasn't been released in the US. I bet when it is released here, it's under $600.

I paid $650 for my GS2 with tax.

My Incredible was 550 six months after release. This doesn't seem outrageous.

Dunno why you're complaining, you guys have it cheap. In europe the average new phone, no contract costs $700-$800 usd. Currently the HTC sensation costs ~430pounds ($700usd) in the uk. The galaxy s ii also costs ~430pounds in europe and $800 aud in australia. The atrix is even more expensive, costing 500pounds ($850usd).

Well I'm thinking y'all probably get paid more over in the uk or something. Where is the logic of the phones being like 100 to 200 dollars more? That's crazy and yeah we complain if HTC isn't giving it their all and not producing a better than good product for almost 600 dollars.

I'd pay that kind of money for the phone if:
1) It comes with almost no flaws/bugs
2) Its a Pentaband GSM/HSDPA Phone
2) I have full control over it (rooting)
3) I get at least 5 years of guranteed timely updates
Last I bought a Asus laptop for this much

what will be your next phone?

i switch phones very often, usually every 3-4 months... but since i bought my tbolt at best buy i have to hold onto it till at least january which will be a challenge for me.
i know verizon doesn't always carry the best top of the line phones but ill be looking at the next iphone or hopefully the galaxy s 2 early next year.
what might be your next phone after the tbolt?

I keep them until I get my next free phone. Paid $10 at best buy for my bolt.

The TBolt is my Next Phone!
I just got the dang thing! Just rooted it and installed DasBAMF stripped 1.8.6 and the OTA radios from 7/8. Not upgrading the hardware for a LOOOOONG time.
Oh, FWIW, I paid $99 with a new contract via Amazon Wireless. I was out of contract and month to month on TMobile, prior.

I paid 180 for mine with my new every two and extra discounts.
I am thinking about getting a iphone4 (cough cough) from ebay just to check out and see what all the hipe is.

no way i would downgrade from a tbolt to the "new" iphone. thats like going from a 1000cc crotch rocket to a pocket bike.
im pretty content with my tbolt. it does everything i need. the 3d would be pretty sweet on it though

i probably paid more because i went through best buy, although my wife's lg vortex was free so all in all im happy. i think the sg2 will be my next phone.

After the MR2 update that just rolled out, I'll be happy with the Thunderbolt for a while. I'll hold out till they release a Nexus phone for Verizon, then I'll switch in a heartbeat.

Probably the Bionic. According to engadget, it will have full HDMI mirroring. Assuming this is true, it will be my next phone. (when it has been rooted, no much launch day buys for me.) If it isn't true, then I will wait till something has an HDMI out with a 960x540 or> display. As far as hardware goes, the TB is more than enough for what I use a phone for. I rarely ever use it for gaming. So, I really only want a better screen and HDMI. That is, if I stay with VZW. If I don't it will probably be the next gen evo.

My SO/GF has an iPhone 4, and she is always on it. She's a techie, but not quite as UNIX-y as I am.
Personally, and having been an iPhone 3 and iPod Touch owner (and still am), I cannot see any advantage to an iPhone 4 from an unlocked 1GHz Android device. Battery, perhaps, and pocket portability with the small screen. I would suspect to hear of your disappointment after a thunderbolt.

i almost got the charge but it was $300 at best buy. the tbolt reminded me alot of my evo4g so i went with it.

I have a extra new/unused OEM Back Cover and Battery for T-mobile sensation, I would like to trade it for a CHICHITEC 1900 mah sensation battery & $$$... I might put them both up on ebay as a package... I know there hard to find in the U.S.

Back is 10 simple math dictates you have 40 dollars fair market value priced goods, so a 100% profit or 200% ( assuming you received them for free) shows your greed. Anybody interested in a g2x with no screen bleeding? :-)

So after much debating I decided to finally get rid of my g2x since I've been using the sensation more and more. I was planning on selling it about a week ago but the vibration motor died out on me. Today I finally received my replacement from tmobile and to my big surprise the one I got has no light bleeding at all!! So I figured I would post it here right away before posting it on ebay seeing as pretty much everyone has been complaining about the issue.
I will upload some pictures later since im using the phone app right now. I still have the original box and everything that came with it plus two cases that ill throw in there for free.

Yeah I would pay $200-250 for an extra G2x but no more really. It would be tempting at that price
I've been thinking about getting a backup one for a while now. *hint hint*

I bought mine on eBay for $255 plus shipping in excellent condition. The ones that were in mint condition only went for slightly (maybe $20) more. $300 would be the ultimate top end if you got super lucky.

I pretty much said $320 for negotiation purposes lol. Probably will end up going for around $300

Well I saw his post and figured I had two options make my own which would still be a form of hijacking...his then mine and if I undercut in mine I'd be screwing him... Or just post in his let him know my intent is to not compete but be equal so that they can both go. Thought it was the more mature approach. However it's always easy to see maturity doesn't go far on xda.

I honestly don't mind lol if people think you're giving them a better deal then that's their opinion and there's nothing I can do about it. Also if mine doesn't sell over here it'll sell on ebay or craigslist so I'm really not that worried about it

Insurance Replacement phone

My G2X flew out the window while I was driving and I couldn't find it anywhere. I pay $7.99/month for the insurance through t-mobile/asurion and I just used there website to put in my claim. They said it's out of stock and offered me a Samsung Galaxy S (lame) something Blaze or an HTC Amaze, all of which seemed way less capable than my G2X. Wondering if anyone has any advice or knowledge of these phones (less the galaxy s, I know it sucks) Wish I remembered what make the blaze was, I know that's a little vague. I called them and they said those are my only options or I can wait and see if they get a G2X in stock, or call back and see if other comparable phones become available.

i would get the amaze even though its htc lol. the blaze is more than likely a galaxy s blaze 4g and that has the same specs as amaze but amaze has a bigger screen with higher ppi, and the amze also has a btter camera i believe. oh and amaze already has ICS i think the blaze is pending. I highly doubt the g2x will come back in stock.

Specs wise, amaze isn't bad for your g2x. But try asking for sensation (make up a reason why you want that specific device). Its development is pretty active.

I looked at the Amaze more and saw that it has 1.5 qualcomm dual core, 1g ram, and mhl capable, so I checked the xda forums for it and it seems to have good dev support, so I went with that one. It should be here tomorrow. Probably see you guys later in the optimus g forums, when it shows up : )

honestly thats why its a rip off to buy the insurance plans. I got my g2x in near perfect condition for 115 in june. ome people got theres for less than 100$. Sometimes there are good warranties.

If you know an insurance that replaces your phone for $5 you should let us know. That's ridiculously cheap. Mine was $130
Edit: And they didn't even have a phone to replace mine with, I had to pick from a couple other ****ty ones, and they didn't even offer me the Amaze until I called in complaining.

He means for a warranty replacement. If the phone breaks on its own, it's a 5 buck processing fee. If you do something to break it, then it's insurance deductible time
